I've been binge watching your channel in the past few days and I enjoyed every single video I have watched because not many travelers care about showing the human side of each country but the Nepal series is absolutely my favorite. hopefully one day I get the chance to go Everest base camp trek. Thank you for your efforts Nick! lots of love from Oman 🇴🇲
Thanks Nick. I'll keep a note of these items and details for that hopeful time I can follow in your footsteps. Sounds like you have done a lot of adventuring. You're living the dream!
- For sure. There are liquid drops that can be purchased....basically splits the water cells within your body (specifically in your blood) and yields more oxygen in your blood (not more blood cells...that is process that takes many months). More oxygen allows for better breathing. I have not hiked to that elevation, but I have used the drops for years for other reasons. I definitely feel a difference when on them. Keep rockin' it! Enjoy your new country! 🌍✌🏼
Hmm none of that makes sense. There is no such thing as a water cell in your body Red blood cells take about 4-5 days for the bone marrow to produce More oxygen allows for better breathing 😳 other way around.
If you want the real answer? 😂.. Diamox works by forcing the kidneys to excrete bicarbonate (a base), which has an acidifying effect on the blood. The body’s response to excess acid is to increase respiratory rate, which in turn will increase the blood oxygen levels.
I think this is the first comment I've ever left on youtube. THANK YOU this is the most informative what to take video I've seen. This is the fifth one I've watched and finally found what I'm looking for. Thanks.
Drinking 6 litres a day mate, of all the things I'm scared of that one really hit me.Ive upped my drinking usually drank less than 500ml now I'm on 1.5l- 2l on a good day but i do about 500ml at a time. After like 30 minutes I need the loo sometimes 2-3times. Im basically gonna be needing the toilet all the time as a lady I'm worried. I plan to go in november so will be warmer so that's a positive but when you said 6l a day i thought hmm do i really wanna do it . Will have to have a chat with myself *cries*. Thanks for the useful tips. I feel like before climbing everest one needs a degree or something the amount of research I'm doing is unreal and training..im overthinking aren't i...well that's just me. Sorry I'm waffling
Dear Nick, thank you very much for showing us another incredibile country, could tell me when it is the best period to join the base camp when you have no rain and a good temperature. Next time please showing us your beautiful country. Thank you very much for the video.
I’ve watched all your Nepal trip videos. Go and discover Portugal, beautiful country with beautiful landscapes :) Wish you good luck for your next trip..and be safe mate!
Not sure if you can still read and answer questions here, but with drinking 6L of water a day what do you do when you feel you need to go to the toilet and there are no guesthouse around? Also about filling the water, can you just enter any guesthouse and fill in for free without ordering anything?
While acclimatisation makes you to loose more water than usual, drinking a lot of water like 6 litres per day does not make you acclimate better at all. There is zero evidence or known mechanisms how excess water would help to acclimatise. Total misunderstand of the acclimatisation process. Just drink when thirsty, like usual. On my last 4 week trek I drank 2 litres of water from my Nalgene, that is 0.5 litres per week. Teahouse tea, soups and beer was enough. I have never had AMS and I have been 25 times at over 5000m and three times over 6000m. Newer drank extra water.
Hey. Maybe there is more info in another video (currently going through the Everest playlist), but you mentioned up to $5 per charge as you get higher in elevation. Does that include laptops and phones? How do they go about defining what a charge is? Thanks.
Hey there, It depends where you are, some places won't even charge laptops. But you will find some places will charge more for power banks and laptops others wont so it depends. Sometimes it is on an hourly rate. Hope this helps :)

Can you please create a vlog reckoning a budget travelling towards Everest base camp including expenses .. I haB trekked in 4 of the base camps and i had to spend uncountable in all those occasions . I hab been following your vlogs n found it informative n entertaining .. u cud be the right person to guide many who are on plan of budget travel to base camps
Hello, I will be doing base camp in 2 weeks. Just wondering what equipment you used with your GoPro? e.g. Micro SD cards, Waterproof bag, Stabiliser etc. Thankyou!
Hello Nick, I am doing the trek at the end of this month, still not sure about the material, (buying(at home or Katmandu) or renting), could you guide me a bit?!!?!? Thank you
Thanks for the video! I'm going to be doing this trip in May and have been having a difficult time deciding on whether to use trail running shoes or hiking shoes. I don't need the ankle support (shoes with ankle support hurt my feet), so was wondering what you thought? Since I'll be going in May when it's warmer, would trail runners be enough? Thanks!
Re: Diamox, at least in Australia, it’s a prescription only medication. Therefore the only person who is qualified to advise you on it is your doctor who knows your previous medical history and has examined you. It’s their job to understand the benefits and risks of each medication for each individual. Nobody else can give you this information.

Very useful advice. We’ll be going to Everest base camp on the Tibet side on May. 😉
Oh wow, epic! Have fun mate!
Great information Indigo. "This is fake, but it's apparently still BPA free." Not that it's a big deal, but why would you make that assumption?
I love how you're replying to all the comments you've got in this.
You should do the Annapurna Base/Circuit trek next!!
Cheers Manish, I reply to 99.99% of my comments :) Yes, Annapurna next time and Island Peak possibly :)
Good luck for your next trip !!
Cheers mate!

What was the shop you recommend? What street is it on?
You had to use that nigga song on this serene Himalayan landscape didn't you.
Just looked up the solar batter pack, unfortunately not available through Oz Amazon, any ideas.
@indigotraveller can you tell us how much a trek to Everest base camp cost?
that rooftop looks like exactly the same place i stayed in kathmandu a few years ago
im considering doing the
Everest Base Camp via Jiri.
Enjoy!
How about Annapurna base camp the next time you are here.
Yes, I will do that :)
Great video man this was a lot of help

I should have done a trek there 7 years ago but we only had 8 days in Nepal.
That's a shame. You will have to come back.
What month of year have you been ?

Hello,
I will be doing base camp in 2 weeks. Just wondering what equipment you used with your GoPro? e.g. Micro SD cards, Waterproof bag, Stabiliser etc. Thankyou!
Hi. None of those things. Mainly used my main camera with a microphone. That's it 😁
Can one go up who's confined to a wheelchair?
Nothing is impossible...just that it wii be very very expensive.
Hello Nick, I am doing the trek at the end of this month, still not sure about the material, (buying(at home or Katmandu) or renting), could you guide me a bit?!!?!? Thank you
hi there, nice preps. i just wanna ask you if we could get merino wool materials in Katmandu or thamel?
Which solar charger are u using, the link is not working

It’s funny people think buy stuffs at Katmandu is faked but buy in the website like Amazon is genuine. They are the same made in China, Vietnam.
i am a small person wearing children’s clothes. do they sell children sized clothes or is it safer to bring my own?
hi nick,,,lots of gear there,,,what do you do with all the stuff,,,to you leave it with friends there ?
Hey Andy, no, I keep most of it in my travel pack :)
Where do you pee if you drink that much water?
What was the shops name in Kathmandu that you brought your equipment?
Check out my video called 'How Expensive is Nepal', info is on that video :)
So different to what I have in my bag !!?? xD
Haha I can imagine!
