    That chunk you cut off the bottom of the tank, don't throw it out! Do another diorama of one completely upside down in water. Two for one dioramas! Is there an escape hatch in the bottom of these tanks? If so, show it open.

    Interesting. You have demonstrated much more than technical ability and modelling hacks. You have something that cannot be taught, namely an artistic talent. The use of colour to direct the eye to the soldier as the only living thing did not go unnoticed. So, any negatives? Yes. We don’t say, “So to say”, we say “So to speak”. Picky ain’t I?

    I have a archeology paper somewhere where they dug up a track shoe (circa 1918) for British tank and the amazing thing is what's clinging to it is Moss/MG/British railroad green. I think they call it Service Color. The black primer and thinned paint do make a huge difference. This diorama is great inspiration to continue down the WW1 rabbit hole. Always so creative. Thanks!

    I always liked Phil Stuckinska's method of water. He painted a gradient that got darker towards the middle to represent increasing depth, then layered on some Klear and built up the water effect like that. Very effective!

    Great skill yet again. Just a little pointer for the future. The tanks names and squadron markings always began with the same letter. I know you said you were depicting a fictional tank from the markings you had, but with the name Firefly, the sqn number should have been F358, not A358. This doesn’t detract from the superb dio though.

    • @georges.8269
      @georges.8269 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About a year late to reply to this comment, but this is completely untrue of British WW1 tanks. The markings you refer to are specific to the Whippets, which were all fielded with the 'A' designation followed by a 3 digit numbering ranging from 200 to 399. In fact, the Whippet nicknamed 'Firefly' is actually still around today in a museum in Brussels, complete with the correct designation markings, 'A347'.
      As for the Mark IV being depicted, the tank number designations didn't even feature a letter, all being numbered in a 4-digit designation ranging from 2001-8200 (excluding various ranges of numbers in between).
