Great diorama, my great grandfather was on the Somme September 1916 when he first saw the tanks go into battle. Even he said he'd rather take his chances as a soldier than be in one of those things.

Stunning amount of detail. This is going to be another masterpiece.
You were talking about how you're going to be tackling the water as part of the next video. Something I've seen in machines abandoned in mud & water, but have never seen in model making id the rainbow oil sheen on the water surface from where petrol/gasoline has leaked into it. Have you ever done such a thing? It would be really interesting to see how you'd achieve that.

Looking very dank and dreary, just what you were aiming for. The absence of sharp false shadows and relatively even coloring on top surfaces and sides implies overcast weather. Makes me want to pull up the collar of my heavy overcoat just looking at it.
I have a small suggestion- IIRC WWI tanks wouldn't have lived long enough, specifically wouldn't have spent long enough with engines running, to bake all the paint off their mufflers and exhausts. Hence the many-colored rust approach will work, just not the whole exhaust system. But then as you've said realism has to be balanced with artistic expression.

Beautiful. Although I like the more traditional chipping with paintbrushes more, it looks very well. One thing, I didn't notice neither here or on Patron, the footprins of the solider are not as pronounced, as they could probably be on a muddy terrain. Probably to late to change it, but something for the future. On this one we can say, there were a lot of stones underneath the muddy surface, so he didn't sank in as much. ^^
