Both so incredible! Has anyone seen that video of young Myles Kennedy where he's singing and playing, and does an insane shred tapping solo?! It's amazing!
Did you see him at the end of the movie “Rock Star”? A lot of people don’t know he was the dude at the end of that movie who took the mic from Wahlberg

It's no wonder that these guys compliment each other so well on the "easier no solo" acoustic songs such as the 3 recorded at Banditrock: th-cam.com/video/EpLS0buWvqU/w-d-xo.html Tremonti's vocal skills have skyrocketed in no time at all too which is no wonder when you've got Myles walking around giving you tips - not to take away from Tremonti's own blood, sweat and tears that it must take to develop skill in anything.
They both know music theory, Myles is more well versed in it but both know it. It helps. If you combine that knowledge with an "ear" you can be unstoppable.
Myles was already a very good guitarist, he used to be a guitar tutor before he even sang. Slash has said that he actually picked up a few techniques from Myles. Myles holds back in most of his guitar work with Alterbridge because he's only focused on complimenting Mark's technical playing and serving the song not trying to show off or upstage him. Myles really is one of the greatest guys in rock.
Not really a fair criticism. Myles has had a more extensive and structured musical education; way more experience improvising; started working as a professional musician younger (is also older); and has had a broader musical work experience (sessions, function and cover bands, jazz bands, teaching). I have always preferred Myles' general songwriting tastes and found his writing more relatable. I'm not going to pretend that Mark doesn't have a significant edge when it comes to heavy metal rhythm and lead though. Mark has those strengths because he's devoted 90% of his career to writing, recording and touring metal/ grunge cross-over music; which he's been very successful doing and developing
@@mk0759 Mark Tremonti is a terribly overrated guitarist. He should play strictly rhythm, and leave the lead playing to someone whio can actually play.
@@chevychevelle5953 lol. We both know he can play to a high standard. Maybe not as fast as Petrucci or Cooley, but it's total hyperbole to say 'leave the lead to someone who can actually play it' about him. I guess Rhoads and Van Halen 'sucked' too? I look forward to your next EP
@@mk0759 Tremonti is a sloppy untalented hack. Highly overrated. He can write a decent riff here and there, but his lead playing is laughable. Probably would have never gotten anywhere if not for Creed.
Paul Reed Smith guitars make average players way better than they should be. They are both good guitarists, but look at what they are playing!! Even I'm inspired when playing a PRS!!
Man Myles and Mark are beasts on the guitar.

But are still fire !
Thanks for the morning rockers
Don’t care if you’re a fan of these guys or not, but they have some massive talent. HOF someday hopefully.
Did you happen to notice if Mark was running a new amp? He's supposed to be using a new amp and his tone definitely sounds different here.
Indeed
More mid-ranged imo
Sometimes they need to switch roles. Mark has crazy vocals too.
Waters Rising is dope AF
mark tremonti blown away
