I have a 70 T/A that's been in the family since my grandfather bought it from the original owner in 71. Its the car that made me fall in love with cars. My dad told me that the first time I saw it was when he pulled it out of the garage to give it a wash. I was very very young, but came out of the house to see what all that loud noise was and stopped dead in my tracks when it came into sight. I just stared at it totally transfixed. After a couple mins I walked around it, and at that point he knew what I would grow up to be into, but little did he know how far down that rabbit hole I would go doing lots of motor swaps, drag racing, drifting and even building and racing a toyota/nissan frankenstein in Lemons. As a kid I always liked the look of the AAR 'Cuda over the T/A, especially the hood but after driving it as a grown up, there's something about that snorkel paired with the beautiful exhaust tone that's just so badass. As far as these new ones go, I really like what they did with the T/A. While its way more comfortable than the homologation that the 70 was, it still has the elements and details that the original took into consideration. Only thing I wish they had done from the factory was the side exhaust, but hey, that's nothing a couple hundred bucks and a few hours on a weekend can't fix. Nice video and comparison!
There is also a unique T/A decal inside the inner headlight on the driver's side. That headlight is also hollowed out to feed air into the intake like a Hellcat as well. I have pitch black 2021 Challenger T/A with the manual and love it. The T/A package was a lot cheaper before because it came with the houndstooth cloth seats without getting another seating package. Personally I prefer the cloth seats anyway. Still have the heated seats and steering wheel.
Love my 392 T/A. I live in DFW and have yet to see another T/A in Green Go (Only 300 or so were made for 1 model year). I don't think the package is as worth it as it was for the 17/18 as its mostly just an appearance package now, but for the 17/18 it was its own trim level and included the Dynamics package with the bigger brembo brakes, lower suspension with the ride settings, the functional hood scoop intake, the headlight intake tube, and the 275 wide tires and wheels.
My 2019 T/A is Destroyer Grey. The hood is painted flat black and the roof and trunk is flat black wrap. I call it my Hellcat light because the main difference is N/A vs super charged engine with al the other trim and performance features being the same as with the Hellcat.
@@benjaminsmith7283pretty much yeah. Great cars. I drove a hellcat for a while and it wasn't as fun for my type of driving. The n/a 392 is great for city driving stoplight to stoplight.
I also love my Green Go ‘17 TA 392, it just pops with the TA stripes and blackouts on the hood roof and trunk lid. It’s a head turner! ❤ I live in NE Ohio.
I love both packages. I had an 06 Charger Daytona in TorRed...1 of 2000 that I traded in for my Challenger Hellcat several years ago. One thing I liked about the 1st gen Daytona packages from 06-09 were the color matching interior and numbered dash plaque. Although the newer ones have an upgraded interior it lacks that jolt of color. I love my Challenger Hellcat now and the T/A package is pretty cool. I remember rumors of an ACR version that would put the car on a diet and really focus on handling. Unfortunately it never came to fruition but its something that reminds me of the original T/A from 1970 ❤
The 2017 & 2018 Challenger T/As are better imo, as they came with what is now known as the dynamics package, as standard. As well as functional headlight intake holes. I believe they came standard with hood pins as well.
Hood pins were optional... but the people who ordered them without the pins should be talked to and mocked as if they left the lip guards on lol. But yeah the 17/18 it was definitely worth it. And the fact that the 17/18 is its own trim level rather than a scat pack package is also cool.
I have the 2018 Challenger RT/TA and I love it. It's the best car I have ever owned and still own. I almost got the Charger Daytona, but the dealership only had it in silver and I was trading in a 2006 Charger STX for it. I wanted the Challenger more.
You can pop the caps off the back of the lights on all Challengers, and you can Hellcat airbox mod them too with the hellcat intake tube. I've done it to both a GT and an RT Shaker. Definitely helps the airflow and temp a bit!
If it were available equipped as such, I'd get a mono color Charger Scatpack WB with a Tremec 6-speed, and none of those frivolous graphics packages. I know! 8 speed Torqueflite is the only available transmission for Chargers, but it would be awesome if you could order one of those 4 door muscle cars with a manual.
I bought my TA 392 new in 2018, during the original run they were different from scatpacks with functional cold air intake headlight, wider tires and different rim design, lower suspension than scatpack, hood pins and TA seats. I'm mad dodge brought it back but now all it is, is just a sticker package nothing different about it anymore since they put all those pieces on all their cars now. It would have been nice to make the actual TA hood an option instead of the AAR cuda style hood they slapped on everything
Never knew this except for the wider tires & brake package which was the dynamics pkg, mine is a 2017 shaker scat, but I heard the the TA & Shaker had the stiffest suspension setups out of the trim levels before, that widebody scat rt is the best handling out of all of them at this point.
@tezalehall2818 yeah if you talk to any regular scat owners those same yrs they will tell you they are different. All I did was put on h&r springs and its low af, my scatpack friends said springs still leave them with wheel gap so most got coilovers.
@tezalehall2818 yeah the widebody is definitely going to do better with the wider tires all the way around. But at the time we were the stand outs lolol, if I get tired making it a widebody isn't hard
I have a 2020 T/A in indigo blue. Love it. I did some research on it and can’t find 2020 numbers but in 2019 they only made 30 T/A 392 in my color. Said 2020 numbers were lower because of Covid. So think I’ll keep it. Love your channel!!!
B5 TA checking in. Only gripe is that I wish they did a few more things to match the Daytona in terms of details. Daytona seats have different pleating and details, plus you get a Daytona badge on the dash. TA just gets the same suede seats with TA embroidered and “challenger” on the dash and start is splash screen. I guess the exterior is really where it shines with the stripe and blacked out portions. The TA package on the widebody went up 1200 this last year and they took away options. Oh well, I still love mine

Numbered dash plaque. The newer models have more 'performance options' than the others, but, that's the same across the board with any trim level. The '13 didn't even have the SRT pages, just sport mode and paddle shifters.(if you wanted the 6.4, with performance pages, you had to go with the Super Bee.) So, while i agree that the newer models are cool, the older models are a little more unique.

That said, the matte finish looked SO good on that T/A. I think T/As are best for guys who garage keep theirs and never park it anywhere risky, otherwise I'd say pass. PS - You have to hand dry METICULOUSLY every single time on the satin or else it water spots like nothing I've ever seen before. I like being able to wash my regular gloss now and let it air dry. Another reason the T/A should only be owned by guys who baby every single inch of the car at all times.

I missed the update on whether you got the expired financing worked out and the delivery information straightened out on your Demon 170, are you still getting it?
I didn't really care for the retro challenger for years until I saw a widebody T/A, that did it for me... Then I realized the security issues with these cars and that undid it for me, still an awesome looking car but that doesn't justify the anxiety of what happens to them for me...
I have a 22' TA392 and I love it. Overall it =is= an aesthetics package - it used to be unique from what I read in that it was the option for a Scat or R/T trim that gave the vehicle upgraded Air, 6piston brakes, lowered suspension, etc back when they were first available for order, now those options are readily available outside the TA package. I still ordered the TA knowing all that already, even went out to get the full kit plus adjustable suspension added. Just true retro look that really pops and hope to have side exit exhausts done by mid December just like the true TAs from back in the day. My only complaint is that on the WB challengers, the TA flag is interrupted by the wheel flares, which ends up looking abrupt and a little awry. Looked best on a NB.
AwesomeX《☆》Nice Comparison of 2 Iconic Mopar trim levels👍🏾🥤🤳They look sharp af. I'm not a fan of matte black as far as keeping it clean😁I'm thinking about making my 73 Dart Sport a T/A tribute car since it's not a Super valuable collector's car. I mean if you don’t want the cheap interior and want all the performance pages n stuff then it’ll be worth It BUT you have to look at It like this ….. it’s still all the same under the hood . It’s just better styling
At this point in time. My dream hellcat is no longer a dream hellcat anymore. They just easily get stolen and more and more time pass. These cars will be targeted more by the thieves and I don't want the risk to have to carry a gun and a huge probability for my car get stolen every time I park it near to a mall or something. My thinking is that these cutie is getting more attractive by day. Especially the daytona variant. I'll probably stick around with daytona r/t

Sorry if i hurt somebody feelling but you can"t compare a 4 door sedan with a 2 door coupe ,when you drive a Challenger you turn necks(even in the v6)when you drive a charger people just want to know if is a kitty, if not people don't look anymore
Imo, both the Challenger and the Charger look badazz, especially mono colored with minimal, if any, striping and black wheels. My only "Zonk" against the Charger is no manual transmission option. For that reason, I'd go with the Challenger Scat Pack.
In my opinion the Daytona 5.7 was pointless once they made all 5.7s look like scatpacks, back in 2017 when it was introduced the Daytona 5.7 was the only way you could get the 5.7 with the scatpack body style & it was faster than the t grille 5.7s

Then I realized the security issues with these cars and that undid it for me, still an awesome looking car but that doesn't justify the anxiety of what happens to them for me...
Get a kill switch and block neutral lever the car cant be stolen
I love my 23 B5 Daytona 392
So are we just going to ignore the Jeep with the possessed windshield wipers in the background?
Question*** if you get an R/T T/A without Bembros and with Bembros what comes with or without with each?
If you get the R/T with Brembos, you don't get a moonroof. If you get a moonroof, you don't get Brembos. I'd rather have the brakes.
64k for the charger. Whooo weeee
I got a 2021 rt Daytona and mine has a suede roof and a carbon fiber dashboard but everything else is the same.
I got a R/T Daytona also i had to lower mine i dint like the factory stance
Good stuff!
OMG everybody love TA 👍
You didn't mention the functional head scoops and lights
The Daytona seat design mimics the original Ferrari Daytona.
Sold my TA last year….Owed 15k Dodge gave me 28k. Go Green was my color with that matte black striping…
Blacktop edition to the moon
🏆Racer X 🏆🍀 got R done 😎✌️
I really like the T/A package, but for me at least, the best Scat Pack is the 1320 option.
I love my Daytona 392
There’s a beautiful white T/A that’s in my local area but oof is 55k just a bit too much for me
AwesomeX《☆》Nice Comparison of 2 Iconic Mopar trim levels👍🏾🥤🤳They look sharp af. I'm not a fan of matte black as far as keeping it clean😁I'm thinking about making my 73 Dart Sport a T/A tribute car since it's not a Super valuable collector's car. It's an A body small block car so Pretty light. A 392 swap is also a possibility✌🏼🤠☯️
Never seen a widebody scat daytona
I mean if you don’t want the cheap interior and want all the performance pages n stuff then it’ll be worth It BUT you have to look at It like this ….. it’s still all the same under the hood . It’s just better styling
The 50th challenger has the same seats as the Daytona charger
At this point in time. My dream hellcat is no longer a dream hellcat anymore. They just easily get stolen and more and more time pass. These cars will be targeted more by the thieves and I don't want the risk to have to carry a gun and a huge probability for my car get stolen every time I park it near to a mall or something. My thinking is that these cutie is getting more attractive by day. Especially the daytona variant. I'll probably stick around with daytona r/t
Dealers are getting demons in finally. Where is your Demon RacerX ??
It’s on its way 👍
@@RacerX9 Its been on the way for weeks. On its way to collecting dust in the parking lot. 😂 Glad its coming. Although I was hoping it would cancel and you got a 1320 instead lol. I am not even the slightest interested in the demon. It only runs high 8s and barley an 8 at that might as well be low 9 second car. You could build a high 7 or low 8 second for much cheaper. Save that dough and spend it on your Ho ney and a 1320 instead. 😁
Aaaannnnnddd look at the prices, you seriously think anyone who is not rich can afford any of these cars with those insane prices and interest rates?
Sorry if i hurt somebody feelling but you can"t compare a 4 door sedan with a 2 door coupe ,when you drive a Challenger you turn necks(even in the v6)when you drive a charger people just want to know if is a kitty, if not people don't look anymore
Imo, both the Challenger and the Charger look badazz, especially mono colored with minimal, if any, striping and black wheels. My only "Zonk" against the Charger is no manual transmission option. For that reason, I'd go with the Challenger Scat Pack.
I thought Dodge calls the T/A package "Track Attack."
Rather have my '1320' over a T/A.
At this point RacerX should just work at the dealership as a salesman 😂 he spends majority of his TH-cam videos at dealerships 😂
Where else am I going to get access to cars so that I can film them?
Six piston brakes up front
In my opinion the Daytona 5.7 was pointless once they made all 5.7s look like scatpacks, back in 2017 when it was introduced the Daytona 5.7 was the only way you could get the 5.7 with the scatpack body style & it was faster than the t grille 5.7s
Very similar, very cool cars. Will miss them all with the hemi in near future😢
Good news is, you can buy the DEMON170 as a crate motor for $27k starting next year. 😎
Wish Dodge would drop that Demon170 crate motor in the AWD Charger Daytona Banshee new model. NOW THAT WOULD BE 1 AWESOME CAR.💪😎🇺🇸
anything over 40k no
I know they are fast and make a lot of power but I will never be a Dodge guy.. Can't do it..
Doesn't look as good as the ORIGINAL
Widebody Rules !!!!
