You need the hole in the middle of the fuel pump gasket, that allows vacuum pulse from the case to run the pump! It might start and run but its probably only because the squeeze bulb primed the carbs. Be careful this could cause your engine to lean out.

Thanks for the tip… I did not know that but I can adjust my “custom gasket”… prepping for a hurricane right now!
