They have only watched “In the Ghetto” live in concert, and only a few performances recorded live, the Frank Sinatra duet “Love Me Tender/Witchcraft” and “If I Can Dream”. “Blue Suede Shoes” was a lip-sync for a motion picture screen test, “Wooden Heart” from a movie, and they listened to the studio versions of “Little Sister”, “Santa Claus is Back in Town”, and “Suspicious Minds”. For “Jailhouse Rock”, like most reactors, they chose the blurry inferior quality upload that says (Music Video) instead of the crystal clear TCM version. I would LOVE for them to go back to Elvis’ professional beginning in 1954-55 at Sun Records. “That’s All Right”, “Mystery Train”, “Blue Moon”, “Baby, Let’s Play House” and then all the great stuff from his breakout year of 1956 like “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You”.
Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". Imagine actually being in the audience for a live Elvis performance. His commitment to each song; his confidence; that swagger! He put everything into each performance (even his last concert 😥). He was The King. He was “ELVIS!”
You should really watch this song live. Elvis really knows how to put on a performance. He also commands the stage the same way as Freddie Mercury, plus if you watch the Vegas gig, he adds a bit of humour in for good measure.

If there ever is a TRUE legend in music, it's Elvis. He paved the way for just about everyone after him. This man had no less than 149 songs appear on Billboard's Hot 100 pop charts in the USA. Of these, 114 were in the top 40, 40 were in the top 10 and 18 went to number one. He has over one billion records sold so far. Truly the biggest act in the history of music for a single artist.
@@NancyVgf when you stop living in a virtual world and start living in the real world, then and only then will you have any credibility, until then, go cry on somebody else's shoulder!
Other than what I consider a very small group of real talent, music has gone downhill since he's been gone....Most of the music is pure garbage. I can name the current artists I like on less than two hands...Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton, Home Free, and Pentatonix.
As a lot of others have commented you should check this one out live. His interaction with the backing singers is precious and the whole performance is electric. Much love from England 🏴
Yes, Elvis has sold over 1 billion records worldwide. More than any other recording artist out there. Even the Beatles, who have 600,000 worldwide. On a personal level, this is probably my favorite of his singles, excluding his Christmas songs...
Elvis was like no other. I cried as a teen when he passed away. In NYC I used to always rush after school to watch repeats of his movies on tv. “Love Me Tender”, “Viva Las Vegas” songs were early ones (50s and 60s) and “A Little Less Conversation” started the 70s. His background singers, The Sweet Inspirations included Whitney Houston’s mother , Cissy Houston. 💕
In my opinion, Elvis is the greatest singer ever. The man spanned across many different genres from Rock and Roll to Country, Pop, Gospel, Jazz, you name it, the man could do it all! No other singer has ever spawned as many imitators, and no one can do what he did the way he did it! There are very few singers out there who are so unique that you instantly recognize their voice no matter what song they are singing, but Elvis is one of them. He loved what he did and it showed and was infectious. A true showman!
The man has one of the most diverse ranges as a singer. Most other singers have success in one singing voice. Think of Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, and even Tom Jones to a degree. Nothing wrong with that at all. I love all their music. As much as he is talked about though, Elvis is still really underrated as a vocalist. BTW, I believe the great Ronnie Milsap is playing piano on this song. You might want to check out Smokey Mountain Rain by Ronnie.
True, although he is probably the most celebrated performer of all time, people focus too much on the white suits he used to wear in his later years, and in the hairstyle, but forget to actually listen to his singing. Elvis as a singer is massively underrated.
According to the Guinness World Records Book Elvis is the best-selling solo artist of all time worldwide with more than 1 billion records sold ! This studio version is awesome, BUT you surely must also react to the OUTSTANDING live version from 1970 !!!!!!!
With the first note already goosebumps...That man is like no other. I really don't see any performer with his charisma, soulful voice, presence and impact stand up any time soon...More like NEVER EVER again. Elvis was ONCE in history Im afraid. We need to cherish him till the end of time 🙏💖🌌
I was born in the mid 70’s and both my parents were big Elvis fans, so it kind of feels like his music has been the marinade of my life. My Dad and I used to sing ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ together as our party piece when I was a little girl, I have memories of my Dad dancing around the living room with me to Elvis albums and when my Mum passed away when I was in my late teens my Dad played Elvis’ version of ‘Until It’s Time For You To Go’ a lot. These are both beautiful songs that are very much worth listening to. As someone who wanted to marry Elvis when they grew up, it’s so nice to know that tradition stands, even almost 45 years after his death. Elvis’ musical style went through quite a few changes in his 23 years of recording. Some changes were natural evolutions in taste, fashion and expansions in his voice. Others were in part (at least) contractual, as there was a 7/8 year period where almost all (or at least the bulk) of his released material were film soundtracks, which he didn’t have a great deal of control over. The only real constant throughout those 23 years is the strength and quality of his voice and even though his voice changes a little over that timeframe it retains a sound that is inherently Elvis. I know you’re planning on doing some film reactions and so might I suggest that you watch the Elvis film King Creole when you do. There are many lighter films that he was in but King Creole has a good storyline, is well acted and has a great soundtrack…and You get to watch a 23 year old Elvis being all mean and moody whilst figuring out what’s actually important to him.
Elvis is the GOAT. No one comes close to his combination of talent, looks, charisma and to top it off, he was a great person. I grew up in the 80's and I can see it.

It has to be one of his best ever live performances, and that includes his Vegas shows. They will not be disappointed, that's for sure. He was on fire. He never looked or sounded better.
The female singers in the background are the Sweet Inspirations which was founded by Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) and Lee Warwick (Dionne's mom). Both voices are in this, and many, songs. Elvis adored them

Of these, 114 were in the top 40, 40 were in the top 10 and 18 went to number one. He has over one billion records sold so far. Truly the biggest act in the history of music for a single artist.
and he wrote every single one of them too.
Elvis was the King. Aww man😒 you should've reacted to the live version!
Without Elvis we would not have the music that we have today.
so now we can blame Elvis for the shit that is around.
thanks Elvis!
Elvis sings some very special gospel songs! I love his rock n roll & then you hear his gospels- unbelievable 💜🇨🇦😻
Especially when he sang the songs of Dottie Rambo!
Elvis was raised in a Christian family and he never forgot his roots. He had a gospel quartet JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet as back up singers.
As a lot of others have commented you should check this one out live. His interaction with the backing singers is precious and the whole performance is electric. Much love from England 🏴
You have to see his live performance of this!!! It adds a ton and is so much better.
WARNING ⚠️
Watch out for the pelvis in that performance 😆
Classic!! What a voice!🤘🔥
Yes, Elvis has sold over 1 billion records worldwide. More than any other recording artist out there. Even the Beatles, who have 600,000 worldwide.
On a personal level, this is probably my favorite of his singles, excluding his Christmas songs...
His backing singers in his song, “In The Ghetto”, are fantastic. Give that Elvis song a try if you haven’t already😉
The "Sweet Inspirations". One of whom was Cissy Houston. You might have heard of her daughter Whitney.
Wow. Elvis is incomparable. Love everything he does. I swear he was from another planet.
Ronnie used to sing at the Manhattan Club for Elvis' New Year's parties. I saw Ron ie in conert..held a note at least 2 min.utes
I Love Smokey Mountain Rain! Great song!
Yes, nothing like watching them
Ronnie Milsalp did not play on this. It was Bobby Wood. However, Milsalp did play piano on Kentucky Rain.
Elvis is the second, after the Beatles, with 207 million sales.Nobody has anywhere near a billion.
@@eh-i1841 Ask Sony about that
@@eh-i1841 when Elvis died he has sold 400 mill.
I love his gospel music, it is some of the best out there.
❤He’s wonderful on his comeback tour. Black leather. My favorite concert
1 billion albums (yes, with a B) of Elvis' records have been sold. He was, and still is the King. 🤩
Not albums but records!
Love it. my favorite Elvis songs, Suspicious Minds, Can't help falling in love and probably burning Love
Elvis is the GOAT. No one comes close to his combination of talent, looks, charisma and to top it off, he was a great person. I grew up in the 80's and I can see it.
Elvis is the King....All of his songs are great....My favorite Elvis song is " Teddy Bear " - it is a fun song & a little more underated, but I'ved loved it since I was a kid....Would love to see your reaction!!!
I love that you did this it's one of my fav of his songs and it's good you did this version so you can hear everything clearly but now you must do the live performance cause your missing out on his outfit, energy, stage presence, Charisma, interaction with others and his sense of humour.
Please, please, please check this out with a reaction! Kinda love they listened to the studio version first to be able to compare it to his vocals on the live version plus see his personality and humor come thru. ❤
Love elvis and his music the way he can interrupt songs and make you feel itt elvis was called the greatest entertainer of all time
You need to watch him perform this song live in Vegas. By far the best from the best!!
The King of Rock and Roll. All good girls love Elvis.
"TRYIN TO GET TO YOU" one of the greatest live performances ever captured by elvis for reaction!!! the elvis 68 special live. ; )
I really hope they do that one. I've mentioned it a few times, as have some others, but I know they must get so many songs requests. I do hope they consider this one next time they do an Elvis song. It has to be one of his best ever live performances, and that includes his Vegas shows. They will not be disappointed, that's for sure. He was on fire. He never looked or sounded better.
THE greatest like performer ever!!
That is my favorite on that video. ❤️❤️❤️ 68 Comeback Special Tryin to Get to You.
The female singers in the background are the Sweet Inspirations which was founded by Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) and Lee Warwick (Dionne's mom). Both voices are in this, and many, songs. Elvis adored them
The live version of this song is the best, the way he interacts with his backup singers is hilarious.
“It’s Now or Never”... “It Feels So Right”...
So many great songs!!
This and "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" are my absolute favorite Elvis songs
My mom had every one of his records and we saw all of his movies when I was a young child.
I highly recommend the video of this song . From his las Vegas show . His charisma and interaction with the backing singers is priceless.
Please, please, please check this out with a reaction! Kinda love they listened to the studio version first to be able to compare it to his vocals on the live version plus see his personality and humor come thru. ❤
@@MrLaurielover agreed linda .
This song came out in August, 1969 and was a massive #1 hit. The follow-up single “Kentucky Rain” is also one his best vocal performances and you two should react to that one as well.
Of course Kentucky Rain was written by another GREAT singer...that being, Eddie Rabbitt.
Elvis was the greatest. He was just absolutely iconic! I've listened to his music on and off for years. I followed his career like most people that were fans of his did. He went from dirt poor to having so much money it was oozing out of his pores. Why because of all that talent and that voice and the good looks 💜 Plus he was very nice and charming!
Oh I have a suggestion for you for Elvis. In the ghetto 💜
So generous with his money too, bless the man. He was a perfect role model of a kind sole.
Greatest of all time?? YES YES YES!! Without question
Aw I wish you did the live version of this. Such an amazing performance and band it’s killing it and Elvis is super playful with the singers and all around!
Try some young Elvis -- "That's Alright, Mama" is fantastic! It's from his first single on Sun Records, when he was just a local artist.
One of my favs!!!
I was never a hug Elvis fan, but this song is amazing and I've always loved it. The backing vocals make this song
Elvis was, is, and shall always be The King...........Thank you very much🤩🤩🤩🤩
You can tell by the passion In his voice that he has lived the songs he sings.
Yes, because he lived "in the ghetto".
