You heard the "nomonica" that is one of Adam's specialties. If you watch their cover of "Ain't Going Down till the Sun Comes Up" he moves his hand enough that you can see there's nothing hidden, just pure talent. If I was a professional singer I'd be terrified to have them cover one of my songs, the majority of the time their covers sound better than the originals, regardless of who did the original.

Home Free is the best! The do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. They will make you dance, cry and fall out of your seat laughing. They have great personalities and sense of humor and are genuinely good people. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range and Adam, the beatboxer, can't be beat. I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore but just my favorite band! I hope we get many more Home Free reactions from you! ( they have great Christmas songs, by the way. This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Ring Of Fire", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "Seven Bridges Road", "Helplessly Hoping", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Skull & Bones" etc.

Also the new high tenor Bastien can do it too. They can all beatbox to a degree. All vocal, but they use a looper heavily in this one, and have often used this to show the audience how the looper is used. Adam Rupp does the drums, but uses the looper so he can do the harmonica (called by fans no-monica) over the drum part. Rob Lundquist doe the ostinato 'dup-dup' that runs through most of the song, and that is captured early on the looper so he can sing. Similarly Adam Chance (called Chance to tell Adams apart) does the mouth harp sound that runs through nearly all and the looper is again used - I have heard that sound is hard on his voice, so that's another reason the looper is used.

Great Reaction!! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole
The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013
They are the only Country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam R )sings the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless it is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time each member have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist:Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and mastetr whistler from
    Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He has left the group and Adam Bastien took his place June 21 He is from Detroit,MI
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends
    Don McLean: Vincent
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message)
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end )
Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA
    Any many many more.
They have amazing songwriters in the group Tim, and Chance and Austin was also one of the songwriters so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs
End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover )
Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece )
    Butts Medley/ Remix
    Can’t Outrun You
    Brothers In Arms
Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft video game Skull And Bones)
    Life Is A Highway
    Stand By Me
    I’ve Seen (Original by Tim)
    Your Man
Crazy Life ( original and last video with Austin )
Something To Talk About ( first video with Adam B )
    I Still Believe In You
    Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
    The Thanksgiving Song
Let Me Come Home ( Bastien original)
The Greatest Gifts Of All ( Tim Original
There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

To take a bunch of songs about butts and mash them together (with no actual ladies butts In the video) and then throw in some country twang was unreal. Really enjoyed your reaction. Home Free is an unbelievably talented group. While they lean country, they can sing all genres. For more country, there's Ring of Fire (featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix), Elvira (with the Oak Ridge Boys), God Bless the USA, Take Me Home Country Roads and Crazy. If you like oldies, give a listen to When a Man Loves a Woman, American Pie (with Don McLean) and Brothers in Arms. They even sing some R&B... check out End of the Road. And there's How Great Thou Art if you're looking for a little Gospel. If you want some laughs, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget and their Butts Medley should do the trick. Love these guys! Please dive into the rabbit hole. They’re just as good live. That’s a no-monica you’re hearing from Rupp! All five of them can beatbox, just not to the level of Rupp.

If Home Free uses an instrument it is out in the open. Adam plays the nomonica and taught Austin how to do it too.

Adam even has a "tutorial" on doing it on YT. I put that in quotes because it's like those old "how to draw an owl" tutorials - "draw a big circle down here, put a smaller circle on top overlapping just a little, then fill in the rest of the owl..." (Actually it's not quite that basic, but it still doesn't get you very far. Sorry Adam!)

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. You WILL get lost in it, and you will love every minute of it.
What do you need to check out? Everything, but I'll toss out a few suggestions.
    With Christmas coming up:
Oh Holy Night - There is a moment where the beauty of the sound literally feels like a gut punch. Every single listen.
Do You Hear What I Hear - Was never a big fan of this song before, but I love this version. Super unique sounds.
    Others:
Listen To The Music (Doobie Brothers cover) - Their most fun song, in my opinion.
Brothers In Arms (Dire Straits) - The #1 thing in the original is the guitar and they are acapella, so this is a song transformed.
Take Me Home Country Roads (John Denver) - Just another great one.
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - collab with Peter Hollens (U2 cover) - Fantastic version, also a great intro to Peter who is another fun acapella rabbit hole. They also used their Patreon supporters as a choir, which makes the mixing work to make dozens of voices recorded in dozens of different environments sound good together absolutely legendary.
Like I said, the answer really is everything. The talent is off the charts. If you enjoy acapella, you'll love these guys.

Well, I'm just confused now. I'm a huge Home Fry (Home Free fan) and that usually brings me to the various reactors initially. I've listened to at least 20 of your reactions and never noticed the absence of Home Free content. I'm slipping dude. lol Listen to more Home Free please. Anything they do is between good and completely awesome!

Home Free is a phenomenal a cappella group. For another not so old folk tune check out their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" and for a laugh their "Butts Remix". Around Christmas check out their creative rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear", among other wonderful Christmas creations.

From wikipedia -"Dick Burnett is generally credited as the writer of "Man of Constant Sorrow". Burnett first recorded the song in 1913 under the title "Farewell Song". However, his Columbia Records label refused to release it and destroyed the master. The song's popularity grew in the mid-1950s after Burnett's friend, John Cohen, introduced it to the folk music scene."- this song has been around for more than a hundred years.

Chance was doing the mouth harp. All of them can beatbox to a degree. 9 to 5 live performance has a section where they all beatbox. It's great. Austin in live performances of Man of Constant Sorrow would do the nomonica with Adam. The singers in this video: first singer, Austin Brown, tenor; second singer, Rob Lundquist, lead tenor; bass singer, Tim Foust, has 5 octave range and sings low enough to blow speakers all the way to high tenor; mouth harp performer, Adam Chance (Chance) baritone/bass has 4 octave range, can sing bass to tenor, but not quite as low or high as Tim; and of course, Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinaire, who also sings tenor when accompanying the group instead of beatboxing. Austin Brown left the group in July and was replaced by Adam Bastien (Bastien) who is also a tenor.
