      You have SO many more great Elvis performances to discover, from his different era's - Elvis was the consummate performer and he loved to please the audience - wait until you see the video of the song "Love me Tender" where he kisses like 30 woman both from the stage and in the audience

    Your reaction was amazing! I love that you noticed that Elvis was conducting the band. He always personally chose the best of the best musicians and back-up singers. He even arranged the music and played several instruments. And he did all this with no formal musical training.

    Elvis' secret weapon was his drummer Ronnie Tutt. He recently passed away in October, 2021 at age 83.. Both Elvis and Ronnie had a special chemistry that was impossible to match. They stuck like glue until Elvis' passing in 1977.

    The KINETIC SOULFUL CONNECTION Elvis had with the SWEET INSPIRATIONS, his black female backup singers was SO INSTRUMENTAL and revolutionary. Elvis was a LEAD SINGER of maybe the greatest band in rock history. Noone put on a show this good. When white performers refused to record or perform with black musicians in the 60's and 70s, Elvis was not only hiring them, but made them integral to his sound and live shows. To Elvis it was a BAND, he knew he wasn't a solo act. He was singing and conducting his amazing band. They were each revving each other up. They loved each other. It wasnt just a job for them. They practiced and practiced and practiced.

      Steven Pomeroy....you are so right...Elvis was way before anyone in the fact that he did not see colour...he saw talent that a acompineyed his vocals perfectly, a band that he could conduct because he knew at every stage of his performance where everyone was instrumentally ! ! I have never heard a bad word anout Elvis from any back-up singer he had....in fact they all loved and miss him....they were all talented and excellent at what they did, the musicians were so good, NO technology was used or required, just pure genius from everyone....there is no comparison today!!

    • @brendawalden6180
      @brendawalden6180 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im fact. When you listen from when Elvis started to his last concert how the sound kept improving......and the proof is in his speaking voice, carrying over to his signing voice!! Just amazing, he really was blessed! !!!

      I'm enjoying watching our young people now looking back at the older music and appreciating the reality of it.
      Isn't he the one who was the original (women tossing their panties on the stage) person? Thank God I was too young when he began and too old when he reappeared. I would probably have been guilty as well (obscene as that is). My grandmother was at every one of the concerts she could get to. I don't blame her. Gorgeous, ultra-talented man.

    Good reaction, you caught some details I missed despite being a fan for 30 years, like conducting the band. I thought it was only for show his gestures. Will subscribe. And you gave props to his band that was great, Elvis was not as good before he got that band. They helped him a lot. Made his job easier, and helped him make better choices on songs I think. Picking songs that builds and builds to big climax, and incorporating a ton of instruments in big productions. Gave him mature and soulful melodies instead of simple guitar and singsongthings as early on. Made him serious about the music.

  • @stevedahlberg8680

    Nice reaction. This performance never ceases to amaze me and he had so many. If you haven't already, check out his tribute the Doctor Martin Luther King from his 1968 Comeback Special. It's the version where he is in a white suit. He doesn't do all the high-performance energy stuff but he pours all his pain and agony over the loss of his friend out into his singing but it's the same band behind him. And they are a fantastic band and by all accounts they really loved him. But be prepared to cry that's for sure.

    What fun he appeared to be having. He just seemed so happy and was so playful. Even the man smoking in the audience was beaming and rocking. So sad as time went by he could not have looked back at this very moment in time, saw how great he looked and the joy that exuded from him and maybe that would have helped him make better decisions in his personal life. Man I hope that where ever he is he is rocking people and I will be at one of those concerts. Never Rest in Peace Elvis, Rock On!

    Indeed OMG!!! I was lucky to be there as a kid of 5 years old it was on August 12 1970 in the Internatiional hotel in Las Vegas. Before Elvis came in Las Vegas it was just a unknown town but thanks to Elvis concerts it became a big famous city also of gambling because the mananger of Elvis colonel Parker was a fan of gambling. Elvis is also called mister Las Vegas. For me this concert was the start of being an Elvis fan forever and ever in heart and soul. Elvis had such an electrifying performances and a so close bound with his fans that from 1971 they had to hire somebody, a man called Joe Dvorak, for to shout at the end of the concert "Elvis has left the builiding" because if not believe me we would be still there and shouting for Elvis, we were really rippiing the place apart
