Glock G44 diagnostics

  • The G44 as with most semi-automatic 22 long rifle pistols can be a very finicky firearm. Now consider the g44 with an aftermarket slide as well as the added weight of a RDS sight. If you find an ammo that functions flawlessly that's great. However with the cost and availability of ammo it would be to your advantage to have your g44 eat just about anything. With the immense variety of projectile weights, profiles, material, and velocities it is quite a chore to achieve that task. Hopefully this video will help give you insight on how to proceed safely and efficiently.

    Fifty-three years ago, when I bought my first car that was in perfect condition until I got hold of it my dad said to me " If you would quit fixing that damn thing it would probably run." It still took several years for that wisdom to sink in. I find that to still be true with most of my firearms. The ones I carry for personal defense are factory stock and they work every time when fed premium factory ammo. I do however have other guns that I like to modify and shoot just for fun I but probably wouldn`t bet my life on one of them. The G44 and the slide conversion for my G22 are great for keeping my skills up to par at a reasonable cost in ammo and when they jam up or quit, I just consider it a malfunction drill.

    @flattire707 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    My stock 44 had every type of malfunction known. After 500 rounds it settled down and now will shoot any ammo. Stay away from Thunderbolt ammo, leads terribly.
    Had to replace my sleeve with the aluminum aftermarket replacement. Stock sleeve was hammered after 200 rounds. Now my 44 is a dream to shoot.

    Love your infovids. You're the Jedi master of all things Glock. I had high hopes for the G44 but it doesn't live up to that Glock reliability. That's why I went with the Taurus Tx22. It's an outstanding functioning and best bang for the buck alternative to the G44.

    He’s the Glock trigger wizard for real. Just watching his video reinforces the reason I need a gunsmith lol. I’ve seen the stock 44 really run well with the right ammo. I think Aguila and Federal were the winners FYI, think they recommend cci mini mags, neither one liked that ammo so I don’t know enough. If anyone is having issues I’d sure try it anyway.

    Everything you do is to reduce friction, whether from the actual strength of a spring or the flex of, surface area of, or angular contact of metal on metal contact.
    I was thinking exactly the same thing about cleaning the gun when you were going thru all of the minute details of tuning the firearm. If you do all those small adjustments to make it run, dirt will be the deciding factor.
    Simplistic genius from knowing that gun inside and out.

I have a Ranger Proof trigger with an oem minus connector, Hiviz fiber optic sights, Talon grips, Glock Oem extended slide stop, Hyve extended mag release, Nelson Precision aluminum locking block and striker spacer.Pearce grip extensions for each of my 10 magazines. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but you show the extractor snapping over the rim, but it only functions that way when the round is top-loaded. When feeding from the magazine, the rim of the case is supposed to slide up underneath the extractor, not in front of it.

    • @floorpizza8074
      @floorpizza8074 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I might be wrong about this, but I think the round coming up from underneath the extractor is true for all Glock models other than the 44. In the 44, it does operate as Johnny states. You'll notice that the 44 doesn't "tilt" the barrel like the traditional John Browning "short recoil" operated guns.
