  • How to clean a Glock 44 Handgun:
    Step 1: Before you start cleaning, make sure the firearm is completely unloaded. Drop the magazine and rack the slide to make sure it’s completely empty. Also make sure to look inside and visually/physically inspect the chamber.
    Step 2: Release the slide and pull the trigger. The trigger will remain in the locked position until the slide is removed
    NOTE: Other than the obvious safety hazard, this is why it so important that there is no ammo within the gun when disassembling any Glock.
    Step 3: To remove the slide, grip the top of the gun with four fingers while putting your thumb underneath the beaver tail and move it back slightly. Simultaneously pull both side levers down and the slide will move forward to disassemble.
    Step 4: Take the recoil spring out and set it to the side.
    Step 5: Like most semi-automatic guns, this Glock barrel will remove from the rear. Slide the barrel forward and pull it up. The barrel should come out easily.
    Step 6: From the rear, take your dry brush and insert it through the end of the barrel. You should see dust if they gun is dirty enough. Also make sure to grab the brush by the T-handle so the brush rotates in and follows the rifling through the barrel. Once finished, put to the side.
    Step 7: Next, take your utility brush and dry brush the side. Use a toothbrush if you do not have a gun cleaning utility brush, it will work just as well. Make sure to hit all the crevasses, channels, and rails. Take the lower and repeat the same process.
    Step 8: Now time to clean. Take your solvent and insert your patch into the patch holder. Soak the patch in solvent and run it through the rear of the barrel in a back-and-forth motion. Take the same patch and rub the feed ramp as well.
    Step 9: Take the slide and brush, with solvent on it, and brush the slide again, the same as before. You can get aggressive with this process if you would like, it will not do anything but help you. Make sure to hit all crevasses again. Repeat the same process with the lower. Make sure all metallic parts have been brushed of excess carbon.
    Step 10: Take a dry rag and wipe all solvent off. Use a Q-tip to dry all excess solvent while making sure to pay attention to all channels and crevasses. You do not want any solvent remaining in the gun.
    Step 11: Take your gun cleaning pick with a patch underneath and use this to clean what your Q-tip did not. This is imperative step before you lubricate the gun.
    Step 12: Going back to your barrel, take the dry brush and from the rear of the barrel and push the brush through about 4-5 times.
    PRO TIP: Using the same dry brush put a patch over the tip and push it through the barrel. This will clean the gun even more!
    Step 13: Time for lubricant. Take your patch through your patch holder and put your chosen lubricant gun oil on the patch. Run this through the bore of the barrel. Repeat this process again.
    Step 14: Take your slide and directly put your oil on the gun, making sure there is not too much excess. Use a Q-tip/pick and spread the oil out evenly throughout the slide.
    Step 15: Repeat this process with the rest of the metallic parts of your gun.
    Step 16: Time for reassembly. Take your barrel and place it into the slide. Next, take the recoil spring aligning it with the concave area where the rounded part of the recoil spring rests. Make sure that is it riding in this concave area. Put your slide back in using the rail guides and lock it back. Put your empty magazine back in and slide the rack back. Release the slide and do your final function check.

      Right this guy makes sense. Forget Lenny @ the "The Glockstore" he wants you to spend 100.00 to clean anything-and wants you to buy it from him. I think he is having problems now that he is in Nashville.-Take care-God bless.

      We incorrectly racked it before dropping the mag.. While the gun obviously wouldn't fire without a bullet in the chamber, we still do not want unsafe practices out there in TH-cam land

    Im an NRA instructor, Range Officer, Mass State Police Instructor, Utah Instructor and Glock Armorer - You need to remake this video, As soon as you racked it without dropping the mag - I stopped watching and would suggest you get retrained. I can see you also have too much junk, You dont need half of that to clean a glock.

      Could you explain why it's so wrong to slide back before dropping mag?
      For example after shooting last round, slide locks back, you drop mag and check inside. Your not going to release slide back to front to drop the mag and then pull slide back again, right?

    • @truthteller6701
      @truthteller6701 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Criztjan1 When disassembling or cleaning a Glock the magazine is always dropped First. Racking the slide first loads a cartridge into the barrel chamber. Glocks have no real safety so you could very easily have an accidental discharge. Basic Gun Cleaning 101.

      He also oils the Inside of the barrel. Solvent is one matter, Oil is another. Glock says never to do that because any oil in barrel will migrate to the chamber and then onto the cartridge primers resulting in misfires, non-fires or hang fires, all very dangerous not to mention stove pipes i.e. failure to eject. It can also cause the barrel to fail or gun mechanism to explode as oil can obstruct the barrel. He might want to mention to run clean dry patches through the barrel before firing.

    • @Criztjan1
      @Criztjan1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@truthteller6701 but sliding back does not load yet next round to barrel, releasing slide to front does it.
      So, if one slides back and then relases mag, I don't see how this could end with round in barrel.
