Many thanks, I follow his videos too. He is a very good angler. That trip was very much a recce for a more sustained campaign on the Whiteadder come February.
Great video, good to have you back! Lovely river the Whiteadder. I fished there a few years back. Love the old chap at the mill 'its a pound for the parking'! I thought he was joking. Looking forward to next week.
It seems like it was a poor year for many anglers out there. It certainly took a while for my season to get going but it wasn't so bad in the end. I heard reports of a lot of fish running my local rivers after the season closed so hopefully it's not all lost for the future.
Thanks for posting 👍 looks a really nice river and trip, thought you might have got into a trout or two on there. Looking forward to next Fridays video already 😀
Thanks, me too but it was very early in the year I guess and maybe they see too many salmon flies being swung down and across. There was a point in the afternoon when I considered going back for the trout rod but the lure of the salmon is always too strong.
With the declining salmonstocks obv springerfishing gets harder and harder too but learn a river well and sooner or later you find some small spots that normally will hold a fish or 3 anyway:)
That makes a lot of sense. As it happens that river is as good a spring river as any in the uk and I have joined a club that has 4km of access. Come February and the start of the season I will definitely be investing some time into learning the water.
I bought them in a marine chandlers store locally. Search online for a supplier of commercial Fishermans clothing. Trawlermen wear them to stop the water going up their arms, they are great.
Every day in the outdoors is a good day. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Nice chilled easy watching, cheers.
Many thanks.
Great to see you back sir cracking video again I follow a chap colin tait who fishes there quite often and does ok from it he is worth watching

Many thanks, I knew I was being mugged but I didn't begrudge him it at all!
Good to have you back. I put down my worst year at the salmon last season . As much a chance in finding a unicorn than a salmon at this stage 😢

You are lucky to be so close to such a good spring river. I'm on it tomorrow for my first cast of the year.
The river is at a good height it’s a bit coloured tight lines for tomorrow
Enjoyed your video
Many thanks
