What a surprise this one was for me because it was most definitely an all-around engaging clip!

On that same night, Kylie Minogue was there as a presenter as well. Many years later in one of her interviews, she mentioned Mylene as one of the French singers she has always admired. I remember there was also a Russian female singer called Laima performing with 2 male dancers. Her choreography was in stark contrast to that of MF who was accompanied by 2 sexy female dancers. If you watched till the end of MF's WMV performance, you would notice she got a bit upset by Yannick Noah when he interrupted her thank-you speech. She literally just walked away after saying " Thank you very much & have a good night".
Mickael Jackson was effectively in the audience and smiled to Mylene. He watched the music video and approved, sure he liked Mylène's songs.

In that song she talks about the difficulty to love and make at the times with the threat of AIDS above us, with "plastic between us" if u know what I refer for... the nightclub is called Q which in French means phonetically "ass" and in the club the curtains refers to condoms between people...

I really love that remix. And this song is my favorite with L'horloge ! Sadly, this IS thé only song of Mylène with that kind of instrumentalisation. BUT if you want to listen a Mylène's song that look Alike a bit, listen *Je t'aime mélancolie* from 1991! This song is very entertaining !

- This is not the reason why this song was rejected for the double album "Urgence", but because the single was too "rock" and poppy for this album, all the other songs were only slows.
- It has already been said here that "Q" sounds like "cul", wich means "ass" and, by extrapolation, "sex". But it is also funny to see that, when the camera zoom on the guy, the Q makes like an halo on his head, and makes him to be like a kind of Saint Pierre guarding the entrance to paradise ^^
- Iast thing : Mylène Farmer sung (and danced) this song in front of the real Michael Jackson in Monaco. It was I think in 1993... But we don't know if he has already known anything about this music videos ^^

I thought you were going to miss this little wonder. everything is there! very good music, excellent lyrics, funny and truthful clip ... if you go through the 2000s you will see that myléne has other rhythmic songs which are very good. he letter Q in French is said to be the same as cul (ass)!

Hi Dereck! No, it's not MJ but his lookalike/double called Christopher Gaspar. This is an unreleased track for the compilation Dances Remixes (released on 11.23.92) and for the single 11.16.1992. All the others songs are Extented Versions or Remix Club of her big hits since 1986 until 1992. There is a new version of Libertine and a Techno Remix of We'LL Never Die a non single included in her first album Cendres De Lune in 1986.
Do you know that exists an English version of this song called My Soul Is Slashed released in May 1993 for Europe, a little different soundly.

A very special song in MF's repertoire, I would put it on the same level as "Dessine-moi un mouton", I couldn't explain why. A very hip-hop dance musicality, quite complicated to reproduce on stage. I remember a very strong live version in 96 (with dancers in giant bubbles) and another very poor (for the Mylenium). The video is super nice, humorous, full of winks. And for info the name of the club Q , which in English sounds as ASS;)

great dereck we love !!! you mentioned luc besson. he is a great french filmmaker and producer he shot the 5th element with bruce willis. it seems to me that you referred to the singer barbara. It would be interesting if you were a reaction to his flagship song "l aigle noir" if that was the case you'd better listen to it before then look at the lyrics in English and then only after doing research on this song (this is the case). is that later that she made a text explanation)
It's kind of interresting seing people rave off of all these french signers cause up here on the Canadian east coast, that kind of stuff played all the time in the 1980 and 1990s and early 2000s on french-language community radio. you'd hear it all the time, , playing in malls, barber shops etc... these community radio stations, serving francophone minority communities such as In New Brunswick, had quota for french content. In other words, they were forced to force-feed us with french music, in a bid to stop people from assimilating from French to English. The thing about these, is that they were very exotic to us (we saw ourselves as French, and called them "French from France")... imagine living in a fisherman's village and having all of this stuff on the radio back then. and it did influence local culture even in rural Canada: back then we had discotheques in places with fewer than 5000 inhabitants where I lived. A town in my area had 3 discotheques for 4000 inhabitants. a village of berely 500 had a discotheque as well in those days. the more I think of it, the more "out of this world" this was.

On the other hand the rumor like what the text would have been refused for the project of Daho is false, it was well planned that Mylène re-record the song "Dernier Sourire " for this project.

The clip was shot entirely in studio by Luc Besson. This is the first clip of Mylène's career which is not directed by Laurent Boutonnat.
