Can you imagine How it was at The Time ? It was only her second Time on stage. The last Time was seven year before. Everybody was waiting for her to comeback. Last Time she went on stage, she was wearing a lot of coat and a lot of black and dark color, she had a lot of classic vibe, the stage was made to look like a graveyard, there was a lot of sadness on her lyrics, *AND NOW* She is almost naked , wearing a lot of pants and bra, her hair look like an explosion, she have a lot of lights, a lot of white and sparklings clothes and elements and her song have a lot of energy and happiness. Can you just imagine How it was to see this totally different version of Mylène Farmer at this Time?!?!??!

The tickets for the 2023 concert might go in an instant, get ready to buy them quick ;) Anyway this concert is all my youth. My mom had the cassette audio of that concert that I listenend in my walkman for so long, then we bought the VHS of the concert. I still have it because I just can't throw it away xD I went to see her the following concert and again in 2009. I'll try to go in 2023 and drink plenty of water ^^
You are right, Mylenes's had a different eye make-up at this concert. This is a white eye pencil, which is why bigger eyes are visible .. ^ _ ^

"Anamorphosée" which is the album that came out before this tour is definitely her most "rockish" album. So so good !
As far as videos go you should give "XXL" a try, she's blond, and tied up to the front of a train.... you're gonna love it 😄
Her hair may be lighter in the XXL video, hard to say since it s shot in black and white.
I m certain she s not blond but still red haired, though.

I recalled people stating it was "strawberry blond" for the XXL video and the album pictures.
But since you seemed sure I checked and found some bts pictures of the video I had never seen then... she was indeed already back to red 🙂

I just check some colored pictures taken on the shooting of XXL video, I confirm she was back to redhair, and the splendid (!) dress was between blue and green ..

Finally!!! It is an underrated and underperformed song... one of my faves by her!
L'Instant X is from the same album, California is also, XXL also, Rever, among others. It is her "less understood" album in France, if you will, since the sound is very different from everything she had done before (and since). As you may have read, this was recorded in the USA/LA and hence has a very American sound, something her fans totally did not expect from her!
I wouldn't Say it's her less understood album 😅😅 it was very easy to understand. Maybe when it came out it was surprising but now, her less understood album would certainly be *Bleu Noir* or *Monkey Me*

Probably the best of her songs, under estimated... there was a big potential
Mon premier concert de Mylene ! J'avais 15 ans et j'ai fait la queue plus de 11h. Ce concert était tellement magique et cette chanson est l'une de mes favorites :) Vivement 2023 (mais stress intense le 1er octobre 😅)
About her eyes on this tour : she wore a white ( or very clear) make-up which gives the impression her eyes are very wide and big.
The "human Barbie doll" ( don t know if you "see" , if you can figure out this woman... uses the same make-up technics
This 1996 Tour was an anthological moment so awaited by the fans because many thought that Mylène could stop her career definitively to concentrate on the cinema so they were reassured. Luckily, she came back smashing everything and dazzled us all.
Note that the tour was initially from May 25 to June 29, 1996, but on June 15, 1996 in Lyon, Mylène will have an accident on stage when a dancer drops her into the pit. Mylène, unconscious, is taken to the hospital by her bodyguards where she is operated on urgently and hospitalized for 5 days. With an open fracture of the wrist and various bruises, Mylène Farmer is forced to cancel all the remaining dates of the tour. (forced stop of nearly 6 months, including 2 months of convalescence).
The canceled dates are finally rescheduled at the end of the year and four new dates are added for this second part of the 1996 Tour to finally end on December 15, 1996.
For all her fans, Mylène was already an icon but these events added even more to her legend ...
Yeah Dereck, the whole concert is the bomb, there is not a single moment of weakness, the sound, the voice, the arrangements are fantastic. It was never as good as that afterwards, because Boutonnat took a step back on video editing and music arrangements.

1996 tour is her best she was so full of energy less mystical and distant than today...this was the best show ever for me!!! "desenchantée live 96" is to die for!!!!

Note that the giant screen behind Mylène was the largest in Europe that existed in 1996 (55m2) and also among the 3 largest in the world. In 2021 it may seem trivial but in 1996 none of the fans present had never seen such a huge screen ... ^^

The first time I saw her live. Though I was a big fan in late 80s, i did not go to her first tour. What a pity , i still deeply regret that.

I was there in '96. The video is far from the reality. At the moment of the switch between drums and guitars, there was actually a big explosion FX. I almost felt the whole roof was blowing away. And then... her... in the smoke... almost nude... So beautiful... I was there !

Lol if you want the slightest chance of getting a ticket for that concert you need to be ready right now. It will go sold out very fast pre sales starts this fall on October 1st and regular sales on October 5th 2021. Mylene's fans reading hear may you help Derek to put his hands on a ticket. With the time difference with the West Coast and all it sounds like mission impossible. Dereck you should make a video asking people in France to help you buy a ticket as it's already very difficult for people in France.

Dereck Mon Ami, you have another outro to watch yet, it's from the Stade de France Tour in 2009. Mylene performs Si J'Avais au Moins at the finale of her indoor concert during her N°5 On Tour concert in 2009. This finale is not included in the Stade de France concert DVD. If you have difficulty finding this video it is on my Bitchute channel "All About Mylene" included in Concert Playlist Five.
