I loved this collaboration!!! Sue is great and listening to you two tell your old stories, tips and tricks, do's and don'ts was enlightening. Do more of these, please.
We need you back Eric, we really miss your postive mental attitude
No joke!. I'm back just to re watch this stuff. This guy is the best! Love every video. Except for the helmet cam that he used for the mini Cooper series. That gave me a headache to look at. This guy inspired me to dig deeper into my engine👍
@@vdog4799 the same for me, I didn't like the GoPro videos
I remember Sue! She’s a great technician! I’m glad to see you guys collaborating together!
We need the guy from one auto that says vehicle funny
heck yeah
I remember Sue from the timing belt repair and it was a very comprehensive video and very impressed with Sue's repair skills
I have so much respect for Sue as a technician and as a teacher, she is great.
Thoroughly enjoyed that video in systematically tackling an annoying misfire . Would love to see more videos with you and Sue solving problems please :)
Eric, Sue ! Excellent video 👏👏👍hope to see more of you and Sue.
Two of my favorite content creators working together. Love this and look forward to more videos in the future.
MORE SUE! She's the perfect foil for you, almost like bouncing questions and information off yourself. And there was a lot of learning in this episode.
Though it did at times come across as though she was talking down to him. But if he doesn't mind or think so, it doesn't matter.
Excellent job, both of you!! As a female tech it is great seeing you two work together. Reminds me of my workplace bantering about cars with the guys. 👍🏼 I would definitely like to see more of the collabs & welcome back to YT - you were greatly missed.
The GODFATHER of TH-cam Auto Technicians is back!
with a sponsor! Good for you Eric - make some cash with the 1.76 million subscribers. You deserve every single one! Sue has a long way to go (on TH-cam) to catch up to ETCG!
I realize you guys are promoting A1A parts but as a three Toyota vehicles owner - using ANYTHING but OEM Coils on a Toyota is simply wrong. Every day of the week and twice on Saturday!
Hope to see more content real soon!
BTW -- what year truck is that you were working on?
No Freakin Way! Never would have guessed a collab like this could happen. ETCG & Sue from 1A Auto have been my digital saviors and taught me so much in the past, love you guys.
I have watched so many 1A Auto videos for help with previous vehicles, last time I purchased parts I bought them from 1A Auto.
In my experience their parts are junk but their videos are great. All suspension parts I replaced with their TRQ brand failed in a very short time. Less than a year for struts and ball joints, less than 2 years for tie rods and sway links. Won’t use their parts again , but still love their videos.
And it’s not just their parts. Aftermarket “parts store” parts in general are absolute garbage lately.
I love Sue - she basically just walked me through an entire frontend rebuild of my 2005 Mazda 3. This is a great collab to see :D
I started wrenching in 1958, we would put a bottle ( about 12 ounces ) of hydrogen peroxide through a capillary tube into the intake at idle when it was empty put in the same amount of water, this was supposed to create oxygen to burn off carbon buildup on valves and cylinders. It actually did work fairly well. I'm sure the chemistry experts will comment on this method. We also put a 12 oz can of alcohol in the radiator for anti freeze and a can of water soluble oil on the coolant for water pump lube. Wrenching has come a long way. I later became a jet mechanic in the military and worked on F-4, A-7 and F-16's. Quite a difference. Sue is an amazing technician! I have found carbon tracks on the inside of boots and over the spark plug ceramic on my 3.5 eco boost. I change the boots when I change plugs, cheap insurance. Now, at my age i will do brakes and plugs etc and have a warranty and take it to the dealer so the modern techs can fix it. Great job both of you!
Thank you for that info!
Sue and Eric is a good combo
Nice!!!
Two heads and four hands work better than one head and two hands. Well, usually anyways...
Use your time, now that you don't have your own workshop, to make more collaborations!
Great to see that you are still kicking it, Eric!
This was awesome! You two work well together and I hope we see more like this!
This is a fantastic idea/partnership, and I’m here for it, obviously.
Hopefully this is something that gives you a better life balance while still having the ability to contribute to the community. 👍
I love the collaboration. I love how much fun you two had on the videos. I would love to see more videos like this one.
Your banter with Sue was fantastic. Even if the 1A collab doesn't survive long-term, you should still have her back! Plus, how great is it to have another set of hands in the engine bay so the work can be done on both sides at the same time? This is part of why I always loved working with my Dad.
You and sue have helped me do a ton of maintenance on my vehicles over the years. Good to see both of you.
Great collab, I always liked 1A because they have how to videos to go along with the parts they sell. They get it that you can't always afford to pay a mechanic to do every little thing and give you a fair shot at fixing it yourself.
First time hearing about waste spark system. I had no idea this existed. This is why I love this channel.
The very early 2CV from Citroën in 1950 had a wasted spark system, it saves a distributor. th-cam.com/video/s20x8CKkX3o/w-d-xo.html
The wonders of the TH-cam multiverse never seize to amaze me.
1a auto that one Channel that has touched every make and model I own and made multiple videos great team to work with
Great Video for the DIYer. I know most people don't have a lab scope. As a pro, I would scope the Secondary Ignition and look at the wave form. You will have Low KV around 5 or 6 with low compression or high KV 15 or higher, with compression. You can also see if the coil has and open, short, or the spark is leaking before it gets to the plug. You can also see if it has a lean misfire to tell if the injector is working. If I saw low compression I would verify it with a relative compression test and then finally a real compression test. Learning how to read secondary ignition or even primary ignition is a huge time saver on these.of
Why Is this not an ongoing series? Two absolute rock stars in their own right. Liked, subscribed and all that!
Greetings Eric from the UK. Great video and clearly a meeting of minds with Sue. You obviously work well together and respect each other, so I for one would be more than happy to see you doing more collaborations with Sue.
WE LOVE THAT ERIC THE CAR GUY IS BACK ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NO KIDDING ERIC WAS THE FIRST AUTOMOTIVE TH-cam CHANNEL I EVER WATCHED THAN CAME SCANNER DANNER. PLEASE LET THERE BE MORE,,,,,, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO THAT WAS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sue's marathon video on 1aAuto on the cambelt and waterpump change on for ford focus gave me the confidence to attempt it myself.. the one job ide never been bold enough to attempt. The car is still going so must have been a good teacher!
YOOOOOOO I WATCHED ALL HER VIDEOS ON THE HONDA ELEMENT WHEN I WAS HOMELESS she saved my ass so many times ❤
Absolutely would like to see you and Sue collaborate again! This was a fun and very informative video. I always find diagnosis to be the most challenging part of car repair, so watching you guys go through that process was very useful.
Eric, Sue is your "Sister from another Mister". Excellent collaboration between A1, you and your previous TRQ video. It's good to see you making videos again. Keep up the great content.
Eric your video's for 2008 Acura 3.5 saved me from trading it in for 1000$ found so many issues with valve cover bolt gaskets and plug rubber gasket was bad thank you.
My two favorite TH-cam mechanics! I once bought a car for 300$ because the previous owner replaced the spark plug and wires. Had a misfire since he did the work and he didn't think to look over the most recent work. He spent over a thousand dollars trying to fix it, the car sat for 6-7 months for sale and I fixed it within the first hour of owning it. Cylinder 4 had a wire to the distributor where the boot made it appear to be connected but the metal inside the wire was up inside it not making the connection. Turned out to be a great car and ran perfect for many years
Eric and Sue you both did a great job addressing the misfire diagnosis issue on a green Toyota 4 runner it was fun to work with Sue from 1A Auto I would definitely like to see more videos of 1A auto friends coming soon
Great video Eric ~ I know its not ETCG but if its your birthday. I would like to wish you a happy birthday
Just wow!
1A Sue and ETCG. Very interactive collaboration. It's like a podcast while hands-on working on the car.
One of the best due I've watched on TH-cam
Very nice new way, I enjoyed it and learned more than the regular traditional one person talking. Very good work, Thank you to both of you.
Great job Eric. This was yes an advertisement for an auto parts company but it showed the thinking process. It shows people that if you just use a little common sense you can do it. I had a 99 Avalon with the same engine and the same ignition system and I chased a misfire for a couple of months finally I sit down and I went through it and was able to figure it out. Good to see you’re making videos again.
Noticed something at 2:14 when the engine started up there seemed to be what looked like little flames on the left side, up past the air intake.
Please please please more collaboration with Sue. Honestly one of my favorites
You and Sue are world class mechanics! I you opened up an auto repair shop together you would always be jammed with vehicles with mechanical problems. Keep up the the good work Eric!
This was great. As a Honda Element owner, you and Sue are like gold and together you make a hell of a team. MORE PLEASE!
So much knowledge and experience in 1 video! Thank you guys
a welcome union. I hope the creators find it satisfactory, profitable, and full of contentment.
So happy to see your back in the saddle!
I started buying parts from 1A Auto and they have great customer service and really good pricing. They seem to be a good company.
More Sue. Great chemistry. Love to know more about her background.
This was awesome! Need more of Sue and Eric!
I love that Eric collaborated with her and 1A Auto! Good to see you again Sir !
Loved this collaboration Eric! You guys have good chemistry, the experience between you two is insane. Please give us more of this content! Sat through the whole video👍🏼
Wow what a great video we need more. Sue is great have seen many videos she’s done on hondas and learned alot. Eric your the reason I’m addicted to these kind of videos love them. Thank you Eric and Sue!!
Great team . Muy bueno . Watch both . I learn and save mucho denero
I love to see the OG ETCG!
Very cool. You and Sue make a great collaborative team.
Sue rocks! And my Element is running great (knock on wood) because of all the help your videos have given me to maintain it. Anytime you both collaborate is a win!
I worked for a former aircraft mechanic at one time, and he had a water injection setup he put on his new 1990 GMC 3500 with a 454. He'd hit the button and spray water directly into the throttle body. He said it kept the valves clean.
This is just fantastic. Love the chemistry between you both. Cant wait to see more.
Thank you Eric always enjoy watching your wonderful videos missed you watching from South Africa 🇿🇦
I’ve watched both you and 1A Auto before separately and seeing you working together was fantastic! Yes do it again! Great job on demonstrating your similar troubleshooting skills and approach to problem solving!
Omg Eric so more of these please this is so awesome
Sue is great, watched her and your videos to do my Honda Element 2006 clutch change im doing currently.
watching two minds with expertise work together to solve a problem, its a beautiful thing :) Thanks Sue you helped me in a lot of other videos and thanks Erick this was great i learned some new stuff. More videos with Sue plz
Yes please do more videos! I literally never watch a video without skipping and this one I didn’t skip once it was just so interesting!☺️
Great dynamics between Sue and Eric! Need more duo videos!
loved this video. I'm currently experiencing misfires in my 2012 VW Tiguan and your diagnostic approach was extremely helpful to my understanding of what might be happening as my spark plugs were changed less than 2000 miles ago.
thanks eric and sue. Haven't seen eric 4 ages :) Replaced the leads on my 2005 toyota the other day, same wiring and coil setup so I found it very interesting. thanks for your time making this !
That was a great debugging session. Very useful.
That was great! My two favorite machines. 👍🏽👏🏾👏🏾
This was awesome! Please keep these collaborations going!
Just, wonderful!
I love this collaboration! Reminds me of “this old house” and I mean that as a compliment! They have both helped me fix and maintain my honda element
I am so happy to see that you are posting new content! Great video. Good info and great chemistry between you and Sue.
This is great. Would love to see more content like this.
Great diagnosis I had that problem, you was a great help thank you keep up the good work
Thank you both!
Great piece! Love the collaboration - it's really nice how you two bounce knowledge off each other. I learned a lot!
I learned a lot listening to these two. Excellent ❤
This collaboration was really nice 👍 I love the stories you both told! Learning a lot from those. Keep these collabs coming!👍👌
The back & forth banter was great, Eric. Entertaining & informative. Nice work Eric & Sue! 👍👍
Sue from 1A auto is awesome, definitely do more collaborations with 1A auto!
Great video, Thanks for sharing!
Yes, definitely more videos like this with Sue.
Great job working on one of the best vehicles made.
Eric and Sue make a great team. I hope they do more videos together.
One of those reacher tools (pincher) for extracting and inserting plugs in deep wells
this is amazing, my 2006 TL has gone through much of this already. it was fed 87 by the previous owner and i discovered original plugs in cyl 1-3 at 165K and did new plugs and coils and pcv valve. oil level is good, i need to do the spark plug seals but now it only misfires at WOT through a couple gears. it does do a flashing CEL which leaves a pending random misfire and 1,2,4 misfire codes
great combo you two. keep em coming!
Very calm and relaxing pace and vybe to this video, that's not to say that it's not calm anyway Eric, enjoyed this one.
Thanks you two!! Nice work!
Fun and Educational...! Great video Eric!
Good to see you Eric!
Learned so much from you two. Very enjoyable watching you two working together! Wish i hadn't ordered after market ignition coils. My son put one in my granddaughters 2002 Lexus it seems to be doing fine. Worried about fuel injectors now. I noticed shaking before misfire. Lack of fuel pressure makes sense to cause misfire. I never would have thought of that.
This is a great collaboration with Eric and A1 auto which I watch great channel. Thanks Eric😊
Awesome video. Eric and Sue doing the video is great!
Hey Eric, I was waiting for some new content. I like that format. Keep it up
Enjoyed it! More please!
Awesome job by the both of you. Please do more troubleshooting and repairs. It was fun to watch and very informative.
