WHAT exhausts!!!!! Audi are losing the plot when it comes to styling, they seem to have forgotten that the sq5 comes from a stable of unique sports cars that have subtle differences to identify this and that includes exhausts, they have scrimped and scraped on this one it is very generic to save money, the first generation sq5 is definitely the better of the two cars
@@daveallsopp320 It does sound good, but as you mentioned, it's hidden. Lame for sure. Audi claims it's cause the new generation doesn't like to clean their exhaust tips and complain to them that they get dirty
Have watched a ton of reviews and this one was one of if not the best and most informative one's we've seen. Great job! I'm getting my Sq5 tomorrow and am soooo excited!!
I have an 18 SQ5, if anyone chooses to purchase the current models. Just make sure you get the sports package. It comes with rear diff, red calipers and air suspension which makes it sit lower than a standard SQ5.
Very nice review of the SQ5, Forrest! Interactive and entertaining, especially when you hit that corner at high speed a couple of times! Loved it, and I am also a proud owner of a '18 SQ5 w/ S-sport package. Yeah, I agree with you, I feel that we are lacking some raves on how capable this car can be..., oh, and that exhaust note I am never tired of hearing when in Dynamic!
If you are impressed with this one, you should try the Porsche Macan S, i still think the Macan S is a step above the SQ5 in terms of handling as it shares its platform with the Q5 but with a more rear biased all wheel drive setup, it basically handles like a sedan. And it costs just as much as an Audi SQ5, i would go Macan S all day.
I don't know your area, but in mine the cheapest strip down Macan S you could find is $65K, the SQ5 below $60K. I agree, performance wise the Porsche its very hard to beat. But in a SUV you look for certain comforts, luxury and technology, and Audi offers the best of both worlds.
I drove a 2017 Macan S with 51k miles on it at a dealership recently, so smooth but silent exhaust, then I drove a 2017 Macan S with 141k miles on it and oh boy it ran rough. Then I test drove a 2018 SQ5 with 60k miles on it and in my opinion it has the best of both worlds. For me it felt as fun as the Macan S and I couldn’t get the rough idle of that higher mileage Macan S out of my head. Plus the Macans have the timing cover oil leak $9,000 repair 🫠
I love this, and great review as usual man! But idk why Audi gives those faux quad exhaust looking trim tips on the back. Why not just have real quad exhausts showing? Especially on the SQ5.
There is a 12 volt socket in the rear of the arm rest for the back seats, you can put a USB charger there or whatever. Also heated seats are an option for the rear.

Forrest's Auto Reviews Aw sorry to hear that man, I’m glad I got to at least see it. Nice video on the q5. I have a q5 tdi that I was actually considering trading in for CX-5 diesel for. Got to have match for my mx-5. :)
Cool review, not for nothing that it is Audi's best selling car. I got mine mid 2019 with the same 21" wheels, had them sprayed gloss black and man does it look amazing, what a difference.
I’m planning to get the 2019 SQ5 in Navarra Blue with these wheels and sprayed black. I absolutely love these wheels in black! I have a 2015 S4 right now, but I’m ready for a SUV.
Audi q5 designer need to go back to late model q5 and add more improve refine to screen display. I was lucky to find 2015 audi q5 with 3.0 supercharged with S line package with alone 32,499. I have 56,800 on it now. I love this car. The 2020 audi sq5 is overpriced. I see why audi 2020 is $68,000. The turbo 3.0 V6 save a few gallon of premium gas. I have the Extra warranty on my 2015 q5 with supercharged. I had the 55 miles service my spock plug was black. The previous owner lease it. Couldn't understand the recommended premium gas only. There Is nothing like put your foot down on a supercharged 3.0 V6. With real exhaust pipe.
I drove a rental Audi Q5, basically a stripper Q5 and i liked it except for the steering. way too light for my taste. I cant imagine the SQ5 and how it drives
Only thing that bothers me is those wavey creases or shoulder lines (or whatever), don't like it. Wish it had more boxy look with straight shoulder lines like Q2-3-7and 8. Nice review.
I could list a lot of reasons why, but the short of it is the price tag vs what you get in terms of everything. I was in the market for one of these, but after just a little research and test drove some competitors in this price range, the SQ5 honestly felt too close to my 14 Outback that I wanted to replace. Not in 0-60 performance or the fancy tech, but in styling, quality, practicality and overall curb appeal. It definitely did not warrant enough of an upgrade for me personally, and I had my heart set on getting one a few years back. I DO think the Q5s themselves are great cars, which is why everyone and their mother drives one. But at that price range with the likes of Macans, Stelvios, Fpaces, X3Ms and Volvo’s out there... the SQ5 is just so meh. Least favorite S variant in all of Audi. They need to make this thing feel special, leave the “understated effect” for the base offerings.
J High LOL! It’s been in the 100’s here in Texas. Trust me, you’d put it up too if you had as much hair as I do. It’s basically an instant greenhouse effect when my hair is down in this heat. 🥵

So yet another car, where have to wait for boost, just to launch it quick. A shame, that those preperation times never are considered in the official 0-60 times. From first tapping the pedal to 60 it takes about 7 to 8 seconds.
Great video. May I suggest you learn your numbers in terms of size/measurements, rather than lazily say you're going to put them on the screen. That to me says, you weren't bothered enough to look up specs(Much the less learn them), prior to showcasing the vehicle the manufacturer lent you for an entire week.

At least it is that way in other S/RS models
