Well, I bought one. Currently with 2500 miles. Not quite perfect but I love it just the same. I did consider the Macan, but found it way more expensive, I could only get a 2017 model vs. 2018 for the Audi. I also got the Audi for $56,900, it had a $63,500 sticker! Can't buy a Macan for anything near that! Maybe the puny 2.0 liter Macan. Gripes, gas gauge is hidden behind your hand on, and the steering wheel also blocks it. The 8 speed hesitates when needing quick acceleration. Does this in all modes, including Dynamic S mode. Cannot wait for APR to get the ECU flash worked out. I am hoping for more than 400 HP soon.
I picked up a Q3 last year as we didn't really need the space (yet) of the Q5 & I've got an RB320 which takes care of the need for speed. Having said that though times change, and last year I did really enjoy the fact the dealer had their Q5 in the showroom with the optional Audi tent attached. I think that was a £2k option, but all decent options seem to start at £1k so it's not so bad 😂 Maybe when the lease is up on the Q3 it'll be time to get a quick family car & sell the RB320 as well, so SQ5 (with tent) would be great!

In my opinion too many manufacturers (e.g. Mercedes…) use these “cool” exhaust-covers!! The normal tailpipes like the S5 look best. I hope Audi will solve the problem because many customers criticize it. If one manufacture starts all the others will follow ….. Otherwise the new SQ5 looks very sporty and the design is very harmonic. And the SQ5 TFSI sounds way better than its predecessor with the TDI but I hope Audi will still launch a diesel for frequent drivers (in Europe)! For me the SQ5 is overall the best package in this segment. I hope they will launch a RSQ5 XD
Lived for a few years across the road from the Autodrome, loved it. Audi is not a highly rated manufacturer in the UAE. AC's are under-powered and generally they don't handle the heat well. The locals gave them a big body swerve apart from the sports models such as the W12 ABT and R8. Residuals were terrible subsequently and for the most part, if you saw one in Dubai then it was usually a European driving it.
The only thing i can pick about is the Fuel and Temp gauge. I feel it should be integrated instead of separate from the digital cockpit. Thats pretty much it though.

The Audi SQ5 is wonderful middle-of-the-performance SUVs to drive, has a brilliant exhaust note and spacious. One thing puts me buying this car is the fake exhaust tips, I don’t why certain car makers do fake exhaust tips for their models it shows pure laziness when designing the car and it needs to stop because they not achieving anything.
When shmee says he has 3 secret cars on order, i think one of them has to be the 991. 2 Gt3 Rs, and perhaps the new AM Vantage or unreleased 812 TDF? 🤔 🤔
I've got a 2018 Q5 (US spec) - the hot key on the steering wheel is a heated steering wheel here in the North East of the US. I love the car so far - other than the engine, and the trick suspension, there's not a lot of difference between the SQ and the Q. The MMI system has some quirks, Apple/Android carplay is useless without a touch screen, but the virtual cockpit is fantastic. I noticed Google Maps wasn't an option in this video - makes the virtual cockpit look much nicer, IMO. The exhaust thing? Meh. Who cares - really? I don't like it, but it's not going to stop me buying an otherwise fantastic car.
Paul Jones people are making this whole exhaust thing so stupid, acting like Audi originated it blah blah blah but really Mercedes originated it with the gla and Range Rover "tries to hide" their exhaust behind the bumper of the Supercharged but you can see the cheap 1/2 exhaust loud and clear as if they were a bright pink hood on a blacked out car - do I like that Audi has done it? No. Does it bother me? Sort of. Will it stop me from buying the car? Hell no. Soon I'm sure there will be aftermarket bumpers and exhaust that fix everything

I have been a BMW fan for some time and owned 3 so far, i think purely because i couldn't live with fake exhausts i am going to find myself sticking with BMW and purchasing the X3 M40i

yeah okay I wasnt at the part where he showed the fake pipes on the car. Id say the oval ones are a bit "fake" but these are genuinely fake, fucking hell.
I have a 2018 RS3 and it doesn't have fake exhaust. If you look inside the oval there 1 thick pipe split in half with 2 segments. Its not fake at all. Honestly though, the fake exhaust tips of the SQ5 would prevent me from buying it, thats the degree of disappointment I'm experiencing.
Another great review but I think Audi are going very generic instead of individual with the likes of those ridiculous looking fake exhausts and plain looking wheels with an annoying none retractable tablet on the dash, I think the first generation was superior to this generation at least it looked part of the Audi “S” pedigree and it was diesel, keep up the good reviews
No one thinks that it looks like a Q3 from the front, especially at the start of the video? The new Q7 & Q3 look great, but I think they could've put more effort in the (S)Q5
Checked out this car at my dealer. Great car but for the money the interior is a disapointment. Also feels kinda boring on the road. And little too much with all the tech that you dont really need. In my spec this car is way too expensive when new. But for someone who is looking for a used car , this will be golden in 2-3 years for that money.

It's not audi hating, the base platform before they go to the factories have changed their frame so all platforms of this car will have fake exhausts. It's the same with Volkswagen. In my opinion, yes good cars still but the exhaust seriously puts me off

SUVs are difficult to get excited about even when they add extra letters. I like the interior and ofcourse the dash. The styling is Audi which I like just can like SUVs. Fake exhausts should be punishable. I dont need to see the exhausts but dont put fake ones up. Manufacturers should be more creative than this.
This is much better than the bmw x3 x5 Audi have allways been better in the suv market than BMW. Not as great as the Volvo range but good Suv the Q series.

It's to save money. Almost all sports cars have pipes out the back.
