I've decided to end the MyNextDaily series a little early, so it's decision time. My front runners are the new Audi SQ5 and the Porsche 718 Cayman S. Let me know your thoughts.

I would go for the Audi, the Porsche is insane but you already have a midengined drivers car. The 718 is likely to take away some of the specialness of the Ferrari because it is SO good. Go with something practical and reserve the real driving for the red rocket.

Guys chill out, there are enough Porsche’s on TH-cam. I think it’s about time Audi and the SQ5 get some spotlight as this car really is fabulous. SAM THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU, SOME DIFFERENT CONTENT ON TH-cam!!! At the end of the day, this series is about your next daily and not about owning another sports car, this beauty is still quick and very enjoyable.

I don't mind the fake exhaust, who cares, my older A4 had exposed exhaust ports, pain in the ass to clean. Don't like them, don't buy the car..
As I've said before, something like this or the Q3 RS would be perfect. The 718 although a really good car, would detract from the point of a daily. Your 360 will feel a lot more special after jumping from this. Going from the 718 to another 2 seater would be less of a change. I daily a Boxster S, it is a really good car, but it is also my weekend car with a motorbike.
My Heart says 718, but my Head says SQ5!
What does your vote say though? I down voted here (because it's 6k vs 8k, it's getting close) and up voted for the 718. To me it's do I want two interesting cars to watch on this channel or one interesting car? SQ5 rubs me all the wrong ways, fake tail pipes is icing on the cake.

Those exhaust tips are dreadful
I don't understand why they did away with the old quad ones that were actually exhausts. Those still look great IMO, and wasn't something that needed changing.

Not to mention they're fake and the actual exhaust just turns down and looks like something from an economic car..
What the hell were they thinking?! It's the S model not the base diesel...
The Audi SQ5 is by far the best choice. Its more practical than the Cayman plus it has 5 seats and descent rear legroom and boot and it would be better for long journeys. For performance you already have the Ferrari so you don't need your daily to be high performance. (Sybil is adorable by the way)

I have had mine for almost two months and it is everything I could ever want. It truly has it all.
My vote? SQ5. Brand new model just released, practical, looks & sounds great, I'm sure it handles well in the corners, usable in all kinds of weather, and you've got the 360 as the fun 2-seater sports car to rip around in when you want to have fun.
Tough decision.
Cayman is probably going to hold its value better.
SQ5 is going to be ALOT more usable alongside a 360, to the point I think you’ll enjoy it far more as you haven’t got the limitation of never carrying any stuff or being able to ferry around one person at a time.
Personally, I’d try and find a well priced SQ5 minimising depreciation & sit it nicely next to the 360.
Been tempted by the Cayman myself, but for me personally, trying to fit more than a suitcase and jumper in them is a right pain in the arse as a daily car and also as someone who also lives in London, do get bored of wondering if this is the day I lose the splitter on a speed bump!
Assuming you’re still moving out as well, can you see yourself doing so in cars with such little space? Maybe you’ve just justified the larger car for yourself!

Had my 6 cyl Audi Q5 for almost 2 years now ... love it...love it ... did I say I love it. Smooth ( its been on a 2 thousand mile road trip in the Northwest US & Canada ) ...so good in snow and crappy road conditions here in Colorado... that 2018 SQ5 looks great ..I like the Daytona Grey myself ... lots of people love that blue you had...all good. If you want the perfectly understated and brilliantly engineered car... then this is your new ride. Enjoy. cheers, BW

This is the most perfect daily for you. Decent looking, good performance, amazing build quality, very practical, full of tech and probably the best bang for the buck amongst your other choices.

Most Macan GTS have all the great options that the SQ5 has. Plus (subjective I know) more agressive styling, and more character!
I currently own the q5 and is currently looking for an sq5 because i need performance. The q5 2.otdi that i have is too slow. I understand the convienience of an suv. Easy to get in and out, high seating position which is good for long drives and the comfort is heaven compared to a 2 seater sports car. Having said that, i am a family man with a kid. The wife would kill me if i bought a m2 or m135i or even a 3 series because it sits too low and getting in and out is hassle specially if you park beside a curb which makes it even lower. The reason im buying an sq5 is because of family. Otherwise id go for a rs3, s4, m3. In your case then id choose the porsche since you dont have kids yet. Unless its a range rover, i see SUV as more of a family man car.

++Mugambe++ my q5 is on autotrader at the moment. Still deciding on an sq5 or an s3 5 door. I think the wife can live with the s3 hatchback but that depends on the testdrive and seating position, otherwise, sq5 it is😭

I was very impressed when I test drove this models' predecessor last year. Clicky switches were a bit annoying but other than that, thought it was just about perfect. Makes a great noise, nice command driving position, fast as-you-like, plenty of room. This one brother!

Get the audi, imo. The cayman will be just a less exciting version of the 360, but in the end much the same. It might be less 'cool' but the audi is the more useful car

I have to say Sam. This is the one for you. Its practical for the city and pretty fast as well. Not to mention comfort you could probably get used to

I have an SQ5 and have to say it’s great at everything, from very rapid progress to handling some off road stuff on my shoot complete with dirty dogs and all the other paraphernalia. Do recommend the air suspension though for the extra lift off road and overall balance. Happy days.
Sam, I honestly think the SQ5 suits you down to the ground. It serves your desired purpose of being a proper daily whilst looking so sleek and awesome. I think the stunning blue paintwork has something to do with it!

I have the previous gen Cayman and it’s a wonderfull car but this also looks great! Definitly more comfort and space for taking other people along... No idea what you should choose...
my dad has the old 2013 audi sq5 disel for about 2 years now... and it is amazing. quick, east to drive and not to big. he has loved the car and so have i. i think a 4 seater is the best for a daily and a 2 seater would be difficult even though you have used them for over 5 years. great car and yes i am biased :)!

I have an SQ5 as my daily - fast from A to B , seats 5 comfortably and holds my golf clubs - it’s a great all rounder
The 718 is obviously a very pretty car and I‘m in love with it, but I think the SQ5 is also an absolut dream car and in my opinion you should go for this one beause of the practicality. It is just a better all rounder and by that a better daily.
What about an Alfa Romeo Stelvio?

Hi Lad, I've got an SQ7 , same dash etc, replaced a 5.0 mustang, and a ranger wild track, it can be a big docile daily but with over 600lb,ft of torque from 1000 rpm,s its a hooligan when you want it to be , can carry lots of friends when needed and is a stealth machine with the get up and go they have, don't be scared , their great cars !

Great review, I'm on the market looking at a used one of these now. Not too sure about the fake exhaust look at the back, but I'm sure I can fix that with some aftermarket mods.

i've been using a 2015 a6 bi turbo diesel with a full sline package, drives great pulls like a train, once chipped makes over 270kw and 900nm torque, 0-100 factory is around 4.8 tuned is quite a bit lower, bit of a sleeper

Don't spend that much in your daily, buy a second hand car and buy a nice classic 911, 930 or 964!

Sam my dad has an SQ5 and they're epic... plus so practical you'll have 2 cars with only 2 seats and no space for anything in the boot!

Love both the 718 and the SQ5 but from a daily and practicality point of view, the SQ5 wins but from excitement and speed the 718 is a step above
