    Got the 50TDI version of the Q5 here in Oz. More torque and nearly as quick (5.8seconds). What a beautiful car, best I've ever owned

    Not a fan of the fake exhaust outlets, or the fake sound getting pump into the vehicle. The exterior/interior is gorgeous. But what a great review man!! Your vehicle reviews never disappoint. Always look forward to watching your reviews.

    Finally we got to watch this review after the intriguing "to be continued" of the last SQ5 review.

    Drove the 2013-2016 generation sq5 and was not impressed by handling, just as top-heavy in corners as our 2013 Q5 3.0, which is still a great car.

    I test drove this car against the various trims of the Jaguar F-Pace including the S. The Audi was just a much better car all around. Better composed around turns, throttle response, and smooth delivery of the huge amount of torque from the V6T. My heart sank when the F-Pace S couldn't live up to the hype. The engine growl of the S was starting to get annoying. It was all drama without the performance. So, I'm happy to say picked up the much loved SQ5 and couldn't be happier. Love this car.

    just traded a 2022 tucson for a 2018 sq5 and for a vechicle that 4 years old it feels better, newer and a hell more exciting. had a gti before the tuscon, had kids had to get a suv.

    How would the Sq5 w/o the sport package compare with regular q5. This would be without air suspension and rear sport differential. Would it still be a great all around winter car?

    Great review, love those exhaust tips that you don't have to clean. Car sounds great so WTF always some asswipe saying something about it. I was going to buy the SQ5 but those exhaust tips made me buy a Chevy??? Give me a break!
    Anyway my 2018 SQ5 Prestige was $63,400 here in the USA. Due to (a long story) the dealer screwing up my order in April 2017, I got the car for $56,900.
    Lovin it but not without faults. The stumble at certain throttle inputs is disturbing. Trying to quickly merge and the car does not react instantly is making me look elsewhere. My 2018 S3 and previous VW GTI did the same thing. You just cannot floor the car without a noticeable delay.
    There is no launch control.

    Speaking from experience, touch pad and scroll wheel are FAR superior to a touch screen, especially when you're driving.

      Speaking from experience, I disagree... but we're all open to our own POV, right?

    Another great review Paul. How would you compare the driving dynamics of the SQ5 and the allroad? Which would you rather take on a windy mountain road?

    • @FamilyWheels
      @FamilyWheels  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian... I really like the Allroad (I'm a wagon guy, after all) but the SQ5, even though it's a bigger, taller vehicle, runs circles around it in terms of dynamics. You're going from a 2-litre 4-cylinder to a 3-litre V6 and it's a riot!

    Hi Paul wanted to know your opinion if you prefer this 2018 Audi SQ5 or the 2016 Audi SQ5?

    • @FamilyWheels
      @FamilyWheels  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If off-the-line performance and German manufacturing are weighted heavily for you, then go for the '16 (all the new Q5 and SQ5s are built in Mexico). But for every other reason - from fuel economy to looks to cornering feel - I think the new version wins hands down.

    Hopefully, their electric cars offer a supercharger and a manual transmission.

    Great car and a great review. A more 'budget-conscious' alternative might be the new Buick Regal Sportback Wagon - a lot of bang-for-the-buck. Just a thought ...

    Nice suv but these fake exhaust tips...why Audi ?

    • @Ficon
      @Ficon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ENDERGEDIK I wonder if they found soot to be a big problem during development. My GTI uses the same engine as regular Q5 and the soot deposits are pretty significant.

    • @FamilyWheels
      @FamilyWheels  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The two theories are:
      1. Keeping the back end from getting sooty
      2. As electric guys become more mainstream and sporty, redefining what the back end on a performance car looks like

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ENDERGEDIK BMW and other companies are doing the same with fake tips. BMWs new M340 sedan will have fake tips on their performance sedan along with the new X5.

    Adaptive cruise control is in a separate package at this price? Wow. Nice vehicle, but nobody nickels and dimes you like the Germans.

      I feel the same way... the Toyota Corolla now has it standard, for goodness sake. But I have to say, the ACC and LKAS in the German cars is far smoother than what we see in a lot of the more economical cars.
