Dope! The alchemist settings he showed in his master class work pretty good as well. Definitely not a sidechain like this, but its a nice subtle boost and glue. Settings he uses are -20 threshold, 90 attack, +4 gain, 0 Decay, and 30:1 ratio.
I have been wondering how people have done side chaining on older mpc’ and I’ve heard of another TH-camr that said they used side chaining on their MPC 2000 which I didn’t think was a built-in effect. I’m still not sure if it is with the MPC 2000 but I do have an MPC 1000 and there’s for sure no dedicated effect for side chaining on it so this video was great to hear of ways to emulate side chaining. Another method of side chaining I learned from Very Sick Beats was to use the pad cutoff level on your program on the mpc (I think any older mpc can do this but I know for sure the MPC 1000 can do this). The fact that you have an MPC 1000 and sharing your knowledge of it will definitely have me following your channel. I wish there were more producers showing tutorials on making house music with the older mpc’s as I feel there’s not enough content on TH-cam for that.
Thanks Shaggi! That cutoff pad idea sounds dope. I’ll have to give that a try! Very sick beats has some great content! I’ve learned a lot from his channel! Thanks again for checking out the video and I’ll be posting more shortly!
Hey maybe a quick tutorial showing how to connect the mpc 1000 4 outputs to mixer board inputs & the jjos pad/track mixer settings? That would be cool!
Thanks HiFi!! I have a Alesis Nano compressor. I use both compressors and definitely get more punch using a little of both. 2 compressors is definitely better than one!
@Swell Fellow it really is its own beast. Sat on my mpc one for months because I didn't like it, got really good on my mpc 1000 that I rebuilt and got used to the flow. That helped me so much with the mpc one, I simplified how I thought about using it.
Thank you for the interesting videos! I am doing beats for a while now and its inspiring how you (miss)use the compressor in the 1000. I have the 2500 so same shit... All the best!

I don’t actually use the 4 outs on the mpc1000 and havent used them yet so I’ll have to figure it out first lol

Yooooo this is a great video. I’m going to try this on my 1000!
Thanks Ross!!

Thanks Zapata! I’m from Texas
@@Swellthekid dope
nice what do you think about the mpc x?
I don’t own one myself but I’ve played with one and some of the new MPC,s. The new machines actually have sidechain compression.
trash there are just computers get the mpc 2000
@@zobeatz2258 lol I feel what you’re saying. It’s nothing close to the 2000 but it is its own beast in certain ways.

Thanks Le Reum! Lots of cool things to do with the 1000!
Beat goes HARD, just switch that snare or throw low pass on that snare at like 65-70… would sound so much better! #Salute
Thanks Wann! Snare will make you blink lol
