- Making money is easy in Kenshi once you know how. Here I simplify my four step process that can be used to get you to 500,000 CATS or more in very little time. Even from early game money is easy if you follow a couple of simple steps.
You can find Kenshi here on Steam- store.steampow...

I started my own robotics lab inside of Heng, I would just buy the materials (steel bars, iron plates, and circuits). Even buying expensive steel bars, it made about 100k per day with 3 workers. It's really easy to get started in the United cities - they sell everything you need in large quantities so you can just make your business w/o a base (no raids)
Nice!😀
The highest money i made was fighting beakthings and stealing their eggs in the Gut. 100k + per nest. Made almost 1 million
How you even manage to get away?!!
@@kalgeriax1016 I did a solo run with a OP character with 60+ in all base stats (except for perception) and 40+ atk and def, high quality samurai armor full set, Falling Sun with good quality too (maybe green or higher) and 2 merchant bags. Put the bags in the ground when start fight, kill all beakthings, take the loot they drop (to get killed and dont get up to attack you again), loot all eggs with the bag equipped, look for other nests.
@@LuizGustavo-ib6sb .... damnnn..
If you can defeat beakthings, what's the point of more caps?
@@jameswatkins7763 what do you mean with "more caps"? i dont get it.
I just steal their eggs for money to buy top tier gear and robotic limbs to become more OP and solo everything
I forgot to mention that while in combat to not have to worry about your backpack penalties for combat, unequip them. Either put them in personal inventory or put them on the ground if theres too much wieght in them. This will bypass those penalties and help you in combat. Good stuff on the money making tips too.
Thanks! Trick is, remembering to unequip in the heat of battle.
Always drop your packs. I see so many people get wrecked on streams because of this. It's not just the penalty of the pack but also the encumbrance reduces your swing rate. Make a habit of dropping packs when you get into fights and you will level much faster
@@NebuchisGhostBuilding habit is important. Always when battle starts unequip and also remember to pickup the packs after battle 😂
@@yetipotato8567- so once dropped no one steals it? This game is pretty deep on what the ai can do so I thought if u dropped ur stuff someone would steal it
as far as mining and crafting I'd suggest looking into katanas, they sell for over a thousand for even the low quality crafts but will be worth much more as you get up there in skill and research. the downside to this is it takes I think 7 iron plates for 1 katana and another problem is finding someone who can actually afford to buy them from you once you get higher skills
Trade leathers can also grinded to get your armorer skill. Just chose a good town where there are at least 2 vendors selling leather. You buy it every day, make Tradesman's Leather and sell it. Once you make standard ones, you turn in quite a profit, even buying the prime materials. And is a 1 man job. If you want, you can save all the animal skins, bring them to the armorer and he can turn them into leather.
A specialist grade Tradesman leather sells for 3k or so, Masterwork for 5k if memory serves.
this is smart play, when i started playing Kenshi I did not know I could buy a house in the city, so I built my house with my weak characters and I got beat up non stop by Hungry Bandits and Dust Bandits... later it was the Shek Kingdom that was invading my village (that had no walls at all). It was pure pain... but now I am a milionaire and have 112 characters with all stats around 60 and I am bashing all the big cities in the game... each city is worth about 50k cats without even carrying all the loot, I just cherry pick a few loot.
I made over 3million cats with a Grog farm. 7 wheat farms XL size = Grog cash cow. 1100 cats per 1 Grog in most places. Stockpiled like 500 Grog before going on a region wide trade caravan run and sell out every shop and bar I came across. Its so profitable that I'm doing a Cactus Rum Farm on a new game. Choose a location that is only suitable for farming so I have buy everything else. Lol
Started a new solo play, as a slave. Had a lot of fun grinding skills while slaving, I escaped and trained my STR to 50. I'm looking for ideas on what to trade or how to employ my ninja skills.
After I escaped Rebirth, went straight to Hub, mined a bit of copper just enough to buy food, then went to Squin where copper sells a little better, mined enough to buy more food and a backpack. Once I got the backpack, I started to mine iron to train STR and pick fights with bandits.
Don't underestimate the profit potential of a pack of Garu. They each drop 3 skins and 10 meat. Skin sells for 200 cats even at 80% mark-up, and if you cook the meat and sell it, you get 360 cats per 10 dried meat. So a single garu is worth ~ 1000 cats .... and they come in packs. Bait them into the Squin guards is much more enjoyable than mining.
With my backpack filled with iron and carrying an unfortunate corpse on my shoulder, I headed for the desert, fighting and scavenging on the way, at a very slow pace. Around Stoat I managed to bait a pack of 8 garu to the samurai guards, which yielded tremendous profit. Then a pack of starving outlaws attacked me. 4 of them got sold as slaves at 400 cats a pop.
Allied with Shinobi thieves, sold the wooden backpack after achieving 50 STR (so I can use a fragment axe), got a thief large backpack, and now I will probably go gather drugs to sell, so I can buy a Mk III sword from Shinobi.
bandannas seem to be a good way to level up armor crafting while making more than it cost. I like the beakthing for quick early game money though. once you get to your level that far into the game there are tons of ways to make money and of course thieving is usually one of the best ways of making money if you don't get caught. but for those not wanting to go thief there are still plenty of ways of making money and this bandanna thing is one of them. though I prefer other methods this isn't by any means a bad method at all.
Wow just start playing this week. Can’t tell you how many things I’ve done in my first play through that you called out, like the freebie and the tiny copper node just running into town.
i picked the option to start with 4 characters.. started at Hub.. ran East to Skinners Roam.. past the the Holy Mines to the Weapons Collector Ruins.. where there are NO baddies.. and there is literally 1 of each weapon laying around.. run them all back to town (took 2 trips.. second trip, i had bags.. thats how many weapons are there).. pick what youre gonna use.. sell the rest.. net myself 6K in less than an hour of game play.. if you feel ball-sy.. there is a lost armory RIGHT next to it.. THAT does have baddies
after i gear up, head to the drug lab and rob it for the hashish.. sold it at Heng (and Stout) for $60K.. after you clear the drug lab.. there are materials (250+ hemp, 10-15 water barrel thingies, and then the machinery to produce the hash) THERE.. to create more hashish..!!
there are a few lost ruins on the way to the swamp that will be loaded with books.. (one of them is a library..)..
my system is far more dangerous than what you have been doing.. and now its time to start a new game and try this method..
aside from the random baddie chasin me.. the only problem i had was leveling up lockpicking (to pick the drug lab doors)..
My favorite early game way of making money I can do starting during day 1 not 100s of days later. and it's super easy and also makes over 10k cats a game day and that is going to the western hive west of HUB and harvest beakthings for hides and meat works great. it's even better for those who can eat the spoiled meat and sell the good raw meat but either way its a super easy early game money making method, best I know that doesn't require you to get leveled up and developed. I also recommend increasing number of nest in the options before starting your game this will make it all that better and can be done right off the start from day 1 with only 1 person. you can also steal form the arms dealer that sells robot arms and legs and sell them to the general goods store in the same village but I mostly focus on gathering hides from beak things. they show up constantly and get killed by the western hives units. you can try to poke a hit in from time to time to level your skill but be careful doing that because they wont heal you and you could die.
Me who buys all the hash in the swamp, runs straight right to flats lagoon, my money gets quadrupled, sitting pretty with 10000 thousands a day( millions if mod increases stocks and shop cash).
Can you explain?
The iron node outside squin has a 2-man copper node directly next to it.
BEAUTIFUL information here! I can't wait to try this! Thanks for this video!
As an aside, Ruka is indeed the free recruit from Squin. Just answer her dialogue right and she'll join. There are quite a few unique recruits like that in Kensji from what I understand; I've gotten like 4 of them myself.
Also the advice of keeping your team together is pure gold. I doubt I'll be breaking my teams up for a VERY long time myself, at least until I'm set up in a good base location and am reasonably self-sufficient.
Thumbs up here!
Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words!😃
Ruka, Mia, Hamut and Beep, best bois theres another guy you can free in the hub called Hobbs.
Wouldn't reccomend getting beep until your fast enough to run away from fogmen, but he's worth it for the memes alone.
set base in the acid lake near black sand. wait the attackers to bring their equipments to you and left their corps floating in the acid water.
Nice explanation, it was hilarious during the video the way you talk seems like rick and morti 🤣
I was thinking the exact same thing
Awwh! Watching him evolve from a blind babby taking our advice to releasing his own how-to videos.
:') they grow up so fast.
FYI, "humans" don't necessarily belong to the Holy Nation. The largest population of humans I believe belong to the United Cities faction. And if you think the HN are bad about slavery then woah boy, you're in for a treat!
And I _told_ you bandana's were great! ;)
I don't think I mentioned slavery in the video?🤔
@@MyUsualMe Nah, but it's what the Holy Nation are best known for besides their prejudice.
I literally played the game 1h and ripped off all the shops in 3 towns. Got gear, packs, and $.
I mean you can do anything just use your brain and most importantly have fun.
i destroyed HN purely because of prayers day
Your comment screams "I know it all" and "I told you so" vibes.
coming in 3 years late, Ruka is a guaranteed unique recruit found in squinn, found in one of the bars she will join you for free.
Also if you want to mine outside of squin there's a gate with the police station right next to it and when you come up to the crossroads there's a copper and a iron node there back to back.(this is to help keep your group together)
Currently running a kenshi cartel and found area from the Waystation go toward the swamp, theres an area of flat lowland with Large Copper, Iron and Stone resources as well as Adequate water and excellent soil fertility (you can position your crops as far away from the swamp as possible to avoid Raptors). BIG Money available with Hemp based Fabirc (get it from the swamp village next door), Hashish, Cactus rum, Grog, Dustwiches and Copper plates. Just need to train up some speedy mule with high strength and athletics to shift it all. Get some skeleton miners so they can stay on the job 24/7.
I also have a stealy gal so I'm only ever selling, never buying.
Only faction group to worry about is Shek or Dustbandits, Shek is easy to please as they only want your spare food. Dust Bandits can be taken out early game with mercs by finding the tower, plus the king is a great training dummy till you hand in his bounty.
I use two bulls, two characters and run through the holy nation and grab the skins of bonedogs and river raptors and start to make leather. Once my skill is 75 i start making armor. The river raptors feed the bulls.
Bandanas are fantastic, and so is grog.
There is also a case to be made for hash production to sell in Flats Lagoon - this is probably the best way to make money if you settle in Shem due to proximity of the Lagoon.
Of course, there is also the case to be made for thievery - robbing the poor skeleton tech shop in Mongrel was my go-to money-making method that one time I got hopelessly stuck in Fog Islands.
Another good, although risky method is stealing eggs from beak things - reliable, good money, but you need a really good runner for that.
Grog or beer production is... very lengthy without about 20 people, but I can make over 2 million with my runs. Pack animals and 6 hard leveled guards with crosses should get you to every city
Yeah, cost benefit for masterwork bandanas is crazy even if u buy the fabric. Can produce one each 30 mins, with 1 fabric (around 63 cats) u can produce 2 and a half bandanas that will sell from 600 to 900 cats. Its always the base of my monetary empire.
Insightful video. Well done. You have an excellent system
Thank you kindly! I can't wait till Kenshi 2.
@@MyUsualMe given it has mod support, it will be huge. Kenshi really is the game that weve always wanted
I have copper miners and go for electronics production. It also trains your science person.
Heart protectors (specialist) sells for 4.5k cats. A lvl 80 armoured will be making about 2 dozens of them or more every day. Thats half a million a day ez. The trouble is to take them to the markets though... Had to develop a long ass trade route.
wow, i didnt know you could buy houses in the towns.
My way of earning cats is by continuosly robbing black desert city robotics shop
Thanks for the info. Starting my own series on this game today I think. I like cats!
go to the fog and farm the prince (after having a decent group with good combat, less time less headache)
To make money in Kenshi is ridiciously easy. You just need to find a city which is raided often and consistently by different parties besides hungy bandits. Loot the raiders killed by the guards and sell the stuff to the local dealers. You can make easily 10 to 20k each ingame day at the right location (my favourite is the Waystation in the Grey Desert, there, you can even mine copper during times where there is no raid nearly directly at the entrance and add money from that as well). Half a million will need something between 30 to 50 solo-play ingame days, without any fighting or running huge distances.
I don't do that, though. It's very boring - and you actually don't really need that much money in Kenshi.
bro made 500k plus and still eating dried meat
Also different games spawn different shops sometimes if you refresh the world
So i am new to this game and what i started with is basically getting my ass kicked over and over then bait beasts and let people kill em for me to sell their leather AND THEN go steal beak thing eggs with a wooden backpack so i can carry 18 of em and trained by fighting beak things gg's kenshi
-player with 10 hours playtime
Can I ask? do you have a mod? Because it is not possible to build buildings or fields near cities
I have the same question. I'm trying to figure out how I can place a field near a city that I'm living in since I'm not ready to make my own base yet.
@@ohwhale. The mod is not needed, as I found out, you can really build a small house near the city, you just have to try where it goes
I like sheks the most because of just how good they are at combat.
Great strategy. I like it.
Hired mecks to defend my outpost it was pure carnage so going restart some stuff I learned how repair houses
I may stick with mining cause bandits always show up you can't build that close to hub now so game changed
Issue when you get to making this sorta profit is where to sell it. I always rush to crafting armour/weapons to sell them but never thought about a little hemp factory. I like that idea :) I always play with the training benches (dex, strength etc) mod too as I hate having to level normally, and so rush tech to get them also...but definitely always but that same house in Squinn. Have you built a base yet? would be good to see what sorta base you build? I stopped playing this game round a bout a year ago as the walls on bases seemed to glitch and it didn't work all that great. Do bases work how they should now?
Hey how did you build so close to the walls at the hub? Is it a mod and if it is would somebody please tell me its name . :)
No it's no mod. That is just as close as it let me build.
@@MyUsualMe I can't build there either, I need to build much further away, strange :D nice vid regardless :)
i came to learn about the shop. i learned that the crafting stufff matters instead lol. so new to the game but really enjoying it. i wish-hope the player shop works though. i see the prices of the items ur making. u selll for so cheap........ooof maybe shops work now or there a mod or just gotta bite the bullet. sell at discounts
Kind soldier
"in a matter of a couple of days"

This is valid. But my method is to become a complete degenerate and I made my own custom start called “a small loan of one million dollars.” Lololol
Didn't mention that you traveled back to the hub
I needed a money maker. Im on my way to build San Francisco by the oceans lol and I needed money.
you can make by selling hasish i made in 5days over 800k buy them in shark and sell in lagoon city rent mercenaries to bodyguard you and transfer as much as you can
@@laquica145 do i need sneak to rn pass the guards?
@@daoyang223 no just buy it in shark no security no anything and then travel to city in lagoon you will see it on map its legal there that drugs hasish and when you are there go to general store and sell it you will get four more profit than selling it in any other city shop and you can move freely with hasish in lagon ciity nobody will search you because its legal there to sell it but if you sell it holy nation cities you will get arrested and executed 100% do it only when your skill is full and when you have a lot of money to bribe guards in holy nation so i recommend you to start selling like i said buy in shark and sell in lagoon city (noguards,no security checks)
Wait was it with mod or without
I stole the great library in black scratch every 2-3 days for about 30-50k blueprints
Wondering teacher
squinn has been deserted since i started the game....
a bit late but thats a glitch, you can import your save to fix. as a bonus steal everything before importing
I can’t figure out the exact location and even if I did in 99% sure my game won’t let me build that close and I also don’t get the same fertility and crop yield I’ve been looking for like half an hour
Damn, legit the best tutorial on kenshi i have seen

Shhhh I don't think he's ready for the fogmen yet. Let's not tell him about the fogmen.
WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Hunting them or just looting their heads after they attack Mongrel? Because although I haven't been to Mongrel yet (I don't have Beep yet obv.) I have been concentrating on my video process and haven't been everywhere, Now that you have mentioned them, they are on my radar. Thank you for that!
🤔
@@MyUsualMe I don't think Fog Princes are involved in the raids on mongrel often enough for you to make good money off them. I think you have to go out and actively hunt. Just uhhh, have a couple people with really good lockpicking and stealth just in case...
You could train a human in martial arts, from what I hear there are some awesome effects. Humans have the most potential for martial arts training from what I hear, a well placed punch or kick with high enough skill can remove limbs or even heads. Martial arts in this game is potentially more brutal than any weapon, just be careful training it. I'm tired and starting to ramble, if this makes as much sense to you as it does to me right now, just ignore it.
Martial arts is _definitely_ by far the most OP single-target DPS combat in the game. The only downside is it takes *forever* to get good but once you're there you're unstoppable.
Shek are best at most things combat related, except they tie with Skeletons at Martial arts, Skeletons as they deal cutting DMG making DEX effect MA damage as well as STR make them good offense. However Shek can weer more armor and thus last longer in a fight, making them better in most cases.
Humans have nothing making them better at Martial arts bust also nothing making them worse unlike Hive Workers and Soldier Bots. 3RD best at Martial arts are Scorchlanders mainly as they level dodge faster, but they also heal 10% faster then normal humans as well.
All good stuff guys! It'll be a little while though before I get around to that video.😄
Another great and often overlooked weapon is the staff. I usually start a recruit with the staff until they have 20 attack/defense. Combined with light armors that give combat bonuses, you can have a green recruit with decent skills all from weapons and armor, you get a lot more xp like this.
@@NebuchisGhost I always start off with ether Ketanas are Fragment axes, as both train the stat they specilise in VERY quickly.
this video will not load on youtube...
Wondering advocat
Why build a base if you can buy all the buildings you can dream of inside perfectly safe cities with free defense and many perks such as hiring depots and nearby merchants? Don't think the game sets up well for base building.
Muy interesante ma concentracion
Ruka is free in squin
You don't really need money when items just lays on the table like that... :) :)
You do if people will kill you for stealing said item...derp. If stealing made people hate you at your base town that would look pretty dumb wouldn't it? :) :)
@@ArmisHart Just don't get caught :) :) edit: thats an old comment you replied to lmao, there are far better ways to make money fast in kenshi that method is a bit old. Id try and raid a beak thing nest for the eggs, or maybe smuggle hashish from the swamp to flat lagoons. If you're good with combat go kill skeletons... skeleton repair kits are worth more then beak thing eggs and take a fraction of the space/weight in your backpack
Day 212 = 19 melee attack 🤦♂️

Hence the title that says CATS. lol
