I don't know of any mods that allow you to dodge or parry ranged weapons. There was a mod that reduced stuns from ranged attacks and one that reduced their damage, so you could try and use those, but a quick search didn't show them so I am not sure if they exist anymore.
There are about a dozen essentials that I use for kenshi with frequency. You hit Populated Cities, Slopeless, Game start+, and Reactive world already. Ones that massively help / add to it are - Buildings: More Buildings and Forgotten Buildings (Can't stress enough how amazing forgotten is) Interior (and Exterior) Design Copper Ore Drill (Don't upgrade it, it'll break and turn into an iron ore drill XD) Indoor iron refinery Rooftop Farms Quality of Life: Better Crop Fences Compressed Textures Nice Map - Good lord is this one worth it's weight in beakthing eggs. Enhanced Shopping Economy Animation Overhaul Mod - Crafting More Idle Animations NPC Stuff: 256 recruit limit Interesting Recruits Recruit Prisoners / Adventurer's guild (Recruit is incredibly cheesy after figuring it out) Dog Backpack
Thanks for the list mate, appreciate it and just gonna try out some of the mentioned mods. Can't wait for the new buildings, wish it was a default in game feature... Lofi should really focus on implementing many of these as in game default tbh with option to disable it. It just adds so much more richness to a bare and simplistic game, it's sad. Cause I quite like the game and think many others would too if they knew about these mods or bothered installing 'em. Seriously they lose numbers big time cause of that.
I'm totally new, will put my faith in this mods advice as a experienced modded skyrim player that knows that finding the right mods make games ways better.. or non-playable.
I love modding skyrim too! As the saying goes, mod it until it breaks! But in all seriousness I take the mods I install pretty seriously most of the time so I thoroughly picked ones here and in my other mod videos that I know others will enjoy greatly!
yeah seems pretty light but balanced selection of mods, even for first playthrus, I think you forgot to add the Nice Map it is kinda essential for most ppl!
I agree. The only reason I left it off my lists is that during my time of using that mod it wasn't updated a lot and it frequently stopped working. Obviously it can be said of other mods as well but that one seemed to be extra noticeable for me. But yes, I personally love the mod.
it's simply too cluttered. I get soft locked playing with genesis whenever new terrain loads. the game just pauses and remains so forever once I progress a little.
these are some amazing QOL mods, especially the martial arts one! It was so annoying how it would get locked with like a group of starving bandits. Very vital to making martial arts not suck.
im still watching ive walked around for a few tries and die so im just delving into mods but i mod myself so i dont really care im sure if i spent time i could make my own assets as well, steep learning curve worth the coins
I have some starwars mods craftible lightsabers, I also use populated cities, character skins like master cheif and a few others. I justblove the modding comunity for this game
Would defeneatly swap out reactive world with either living world or uwe as the only advantage it has over those is wiping out the Holy Nation. Living world specifically if you dont want all the extra content from UWE
Really recommend living world for feeling like it completes existing factions/lore without adding unnecessary extra content (and if you get into modding it's a really friendly mod to tinker with). The reaver start it adds is my favorite evil playthrough.
on the topic of mods like reactive world, is there a clear "better" between reactive world, living world, and project genesis? or is it more of a preference thing
Some good calls here, I'll make sure to grab some of these. Just curious, does anyone know if these are applicable to existng saves, or would I need to start a new game to get these working?
I think only populated cities states that you need to import your game. Shops will have the new items after a couple restocks of their shop. With reactive world it doesn't say if it needs a new game but I'd recommend that or at least an import to reset a few things. Everything else should be good.
I recommend that you play for a couple hours without mods just to get a feel for the game. Then yes, I believe these mods make the game a whole better and more enjoyable. If you want my recommended beginner mods specifically I have a video on my channel covering that topic!
Are there any mods that would allow controller support and maybe a way to make the UI more legible on a tv? I would love to play this on a big screen like a console even if I have to occasionally use mouse and keyboard for certain things.
@@runnergo1398 nah, the best solution I could come up with was using a 3rd party program but it was kinda wonky with an Xbox controller. A steam controller seems like the best solution tbh
Just to have it mentioned: You better dont install "Material arts doge faster" if you want to ally youself with the UC, Tinfist and the anti slavers have very strong Material Arts that are already not easy to deal with, even without the Mod ;-) Otherwise i can fully agree :-)

The mods I have tried currently don't work properly. Some crash the game and others either don't work or break pathing for your base. So at the moment I don't think any mods are updated enough for me to suggest. Sorry
Security plus was a mod I used in the past and when it worked I enjoyed it, but it wasn't updated for a while and I started having issues with it so I stopped using it. You could look into it and see if it's what you're looking for. I would recommend making back ups of your saves first just in case though.
Depending on the resource they should grab it automatically if it is within your outpost's range. Crafting and stuff auto-grabs resources that are nearby if they are assigned the job as a repeated job. Which resource are you looking to make your people grab on their own?
@@FallingFoxGaming all of them in their specific boxes, like the iron plates box. I bought a city house, fixed it and set boxes inside but they don't grab from them to build.
They should grab from specific boxes so long as they are assigned the job that would take those resources. Maybe check the job order to with making grabbing the resources a higher priority. If that doesn't work you might have to import your game or check the forums to see if there is a bug you might be having that others have found a solution to. As for mods I don't know anything that would directly replace Kenshi's base gathering method as it technically should work fine (without bugs...but...bugs = kenshi).
@@FallingFoxGaming Alright, thanks for getting back to me. I'll give you a tip in return. Import your audio to audacity, take a sample of noise at the beginning or the end and you can use that to denoise your audio. There's a bit of a hum but with a few extra minutes you can eliminate it without spending your left nut on a new mic/preamp setup.
They should take from containers specifically made to store a single item. Not general storage chests and whatnot. Containers like Ore, Iron plates, Building materials, etc, should work.
Actually it is one of the most top requested mods I play. But I personally haven't gotten into it yet so I don't consider it something everyone should use. I plan on doing a series with the mod eventually at which point I will make another mod video.

There are lots more mods out there that are fantastic, but these are my videos to help newer people get some quick information on some good mods to start with.
Kenshi is a great game on its own, but the community leaves alot to be desired. A group ostensibly called "Genesis Modding Guild" controls the mod scene and literally cyberstalks people into submission, doxxing them on reddit, encouring people to file false theft reports and promising them $12,000 government rewards for doing so, sending them messages with their real life names, and more. When complaints are registered with the game developers, their default response is to simply not respond. They appointed the moderators that now compose the core membership of this "Guild" and place full trust in them, despite multiple users complaining of abuse, threats and bullying in the channels. It's unfortunate because the game itself is better with mods, but the Genesis Modding Guild ensures that only mods sanctioned by them see the light of day. Everything else they work actively to discredit and destroy. I want to give the game a 7 or 8, but the community takes my review if I had one down to a 3. Very toxic. Embarrassingly toxic.

There is a patch that makes Living World and Reactive World compatible. You can have both. IIRC, Genesis is more of an overhaul, so I avoid it.
