Having recently had my own beloved ZD30 decide to retire itself, I have been looking at quite a few options. What drew my attention instantly was the clean design of the whole setup with the big intake plenum sitting there contrasting with the yellow. Then I saw the beautiful engineering of the pump and it’s so much more impressive that it’s a mechanical system.
I have no clue if I can do this in Aus with emission and registration regulations, but I would like to explore the option. I will be augmenting an already capable touring platform with what looks to be a rock solid mechanical system will provide exactly what I am after for very remote touring & exploration.

So do these mechanical fuel pumps not require an additional electric fuel pump in the gas tank to help supply the engine? If not, what do you suggest I do with the existing fuel pump inside the tank?

Change the oil and filters regularly and don’t introduce any water into the fuel.
I have spent countless hours over the past few weeks searching for some of this information and here it is!
Your videos and website have been so much help with my build. (1997 chevy k1500 om606 mechanical 7.7mm with holset hx 35)
Did you use a standard hx35 like off a Cummins?
Is it an electronically controlled solenoid that sends vacuum to the vacuum stop actuator? If yes why not only have an actuator that stops/let go when power to it cuts? In my head its more safety and less stuff to go bad🤔

606 in my '98 only has one hose coming off under the intake, goes over to electric? boost actuator near the throttle bellcrank forward of the firewall. Wish it didn't have the fuel heater or fuel shutoff, too many spots for air to be introduced into fuel lines, a problem which I am chasing now. Great videos, btw.
Perhaps you should make a statement at the begining of all your videos saying something along the lines of " I promise I'm not slagging off any other companies with any statements I may make about their shitty components" & flash up a small sentence briefly everytime you do mention other companies inferior shit . 😂

What cc are stock 606 injectors?
The injectors have 135 bar pop pressure and they're not restrictive. The pump dictates the cc of fuel that's injected

No, that's not how it works unless you can figure out a way to move the ALDA at the press of a button
Why on earth would you hide an early analog OM606 in a cubboard? The NA 606 is a jewel of an engine and just because it doesn’t have a stress induced turbo doesn’t make it any less that the later semi analog 606’s.

Because it’s slow, the whole thing around 606’s is the petrol like characteristics lol

@@Diesel8290 I drove one for like six or seven years it's so slow that it's dangerous everyone will pass you at the green light and you could not merge on the highway the car weighs for 5,000 lb but only has 134 horsepower
