Used the backtrack feature today on a new hike, and I definitely got myself kinda lost by going off the beaten path. About a mile in, I decided to use backtrack cause I'm an amateur hiker and didn't want to get too far in. Great feature, easy to understand and got me back to my car safely. Definitely a great test of this feature and the GPS accuracy.
ty for your cardio effort for your viewers. very appreciative. as for the gps stuff, can this be chalked up to not military grade gps? so for regular people we can't expect total accuracy for gps? or did something change where now civilians can expect military grade gps? I haven't really kept up with the news. But from what i saw, your gps more or less is in the ballpark if not exactly precise, which is probably ok for most people?
The GPS is dual band L1 and L2 which should help in more dense areas, like urban and etc, but yes, not really millitarty grade, probablely even worse than Garmin I d suppose.
Sone users report very good battery even with LTE on. Some people say that it overheats, but maybe low LTE signal, that causes the watch to search for the signal...
from s24u phn i am trying iphn15promax with apple watch ultra2 and i found LTE drain... seems as if watch piggybanks seamless so i tested 3 days still had charge normal use a few calls 1 hr a day hike with gps messages calls etc but had phn with me so i guess it piggybacks phn lte when i tried it a few tines leaving phn at hone id did chew way more and one place where i hike has iffy cell signal and in that area it drained quicker probably trying to get signal... took it from canada to greece to try on trip on a hunch it might work on vodophone no luck so i use it on non cellular mode... anyway i saw this samsung watch at local store when i return i might get one for my s24u...
Wow, gps is quite bad on the map... I did the same hike path with my watch 5 pro and it's more accurate on the map. It follows the path almost all the time and tracks do overlap (I went to the next hut an back). Make sure you have selected precise location on the watch. But yeah, the same battery 590 mha, which is the same as 5 pro. Yes, a better processor, but I'm sure that with the screen and all the updates it will drain it faster. I do hikes very often and my watch 5 pro barely gets to 8-10 hours. I plan my routes and then send the gpx file on the watch so I have the map always shown when it wakes up. Still gonna wait for the epix 8 in two months.
Предполагам е бил свързан с телефона и така ползва неговия GPS. Пробвай на самолетен режим, да се разкачи от телефона, и активирай WearOS GPS Fix приложението, интересно ми е дали ще има подобрение.
I have Garmin Epix 2 pro 51mm sapphire edition and I'm wondering whether to buy this Utra. I exercise and run a lot and planning routes in Garmin is great, as are the health options, especially fitness age
Okay, so I did some homework myself. You can use the GPS or Google Maps standalone on the watch without your phone nearby on LTE. In fact, you can use all the watch apps standalone on LTE .. Meaning an e-sim with data.
I don't know if I am asking too much, but if in case you get a chance to get apple watch ultra 2 and do everything same with both watch in hand and check batter life. Because people are cursing galaxy ultra 😡 but smart watch cannot have 3 4 days battery life 🔋
Regarding the poor battery performance, I just wanted to check with you: have you turned off ADB debugging and Developer Options? Keeping both of these on can greatly impact battery life as well.
Great info! Too bad the battery situation though...all those smartwatches give me great battery anxiety more time than not, with Garmin I almost don't think about battery at all. Gamin would track my day like nothing, here the battery will go in 4 hours of outside activity....that might easily be half a day for many...
I can feel you! The only 2 smartwatches that didn't give me anxiety were Garmin Fenix 5 and Huawei Watch GT2 Pro, but sadly not ao many smart features.
@@VelianSpeaksTech I'm using Huawei Watch 4 at the moment besides my Garmin and it gives me day and half with AOD, eSIM active, all the health features on, training both days in the gym and many notifications. Double that with BT only. Garmin is easily a week, I just don't know what to change Garmin with to get at least decent battery on WearOS. Unfortunately, Garmin are also better in the health features application.
Man I wish the altimeter worked with out needing cellular connection. Something I rely on, especially when ski touring. Altimeter also can't display as a complication. Huge miss
I ordered this watch but based on the reviews I've seen so far the battery life is going to be well below expectations which might cause me to return it.
this battery life is not worth the price. i am supposed to send in my W6C but do you know if i can keep the classic and just send this watch back ? Its beautiful but im not settling for 5 extra hours
I ran 6km and walked 1km and lost 25% on my watch 7 while using galaxy buds on the watch itself. I decided to switch the walk settings to approximate since i dont care about its accuracy. Also, I dissabled raise wrist to wake because it activated too often when not needed at work. Tap to wake is good with AOD. More testing to be done, but now i think i can reach samsung's 30 hour AOD claim.
The "ultra" moniker does not signify that the watch is indeed an ultra device, considering how inaccurate its GPS, sleep tracking, heart rate tracking, etc., are. The only thing "ultra" about it is its price.

Great video man as always! Thanks for your effort. Please continue to update us especially on the battery side 💪 you're killing it
Did you enable precise location tracking? On my watch GPS is very accurate with the option enabled.
You missed an opportunity to use follow track in watch . Should have used it to see how accurate it is as well.
Ah damn, yes.. next time... but I was walking the exact same way anyway, +1-2m max difference, it's a narrow path.
I cant imagine if you activate the lte how much its gonna drain the battery.....thanx for the video 👍
Sone users report very good battery even with LTE on. Some people say that it overheats, but maybe low LTE signal, that causes the watch to search for the signal...
True, I have activated LTE and it still gives 2.5 days of battery life.

Agree...BTW I setup location from the watch, there is only on and off and Google accuracy to improve location
GPX is a must and 5 pro has it...absolutely

How is Track Back? I'm jealous I don't have it on my Watch 6 Classic
I have Garmin Epix 2 pro 51mm sapphire edition and I'm wondering whether to buy this Utra. I exercise and run a lot and planning routes in Garmin is great, as are the health options, especially fitness age
Well better stay with Garmin for fitness and other activities...
Okay, so I did some homework myself.

great video!
What about when using a hiking app with a map regarding battery time?
Great video....wanted to ask if you can view a map while in hike/run/ walk workout mode? Like on a garmin?
I don't know if I am asking too much, but if in case you get a chance to get apple watch ultra 2 and do everything same with both watch in hand and check batter life. Because people are cursing galaxy ultra 😡 but smart watch cannot have 3 4 days battery life 🔋
With that, I agree. I only wish it made 48 hours as the claim on a single charge with power saving.
I am testing this now
Have you tried the new exercise power saving mode on the watch?
No, because it wants that HR and GPS tracking will be less accurate.
Wrist size?

Garmin blows as a smartwatch though so it's really not a comparable watch overall
@@Yielar1 Yes in general, but Venu 3 comes fairly close now in both looks and functionality. Still not fully there, but 7x the battery...
Really want to try one of these for the maps, whether its more efficient at finding routs and spots then my Garmin Epix.
wait wait hold up. so while in activity is there no way to see the dynamic map ? Or you didnt swipe that to show us ? im confused.
No... or maybe I am missing something. Maybe when you load a GPX route, you will be able to see it, but not without it.
Would you test uploading gpx file to watch? Thanks in advance!

How to make the track back using only the galaxy watch?
Akku by start 86% and by end ???
Check the video, it's displayed with caption.
77% - 9% loss for 25 with GPS and HR. Not great, not terrible.
@@VelianSpeaksTech ok...ist the half time..from Galaxy watch5 pro
It stopped learning yesterday and today I did the battery video (previous one)
oh my God the watch is going black everytime put it on Always On display

Hello, out of pure curiosity, have you allowed phone's GPS and watch GPS to sync?
The GPS used is the watch one directly
Well vould the gps be bad because you are swinging your arms

No saltwater and no Diving? Sorry Samsung next time make a better copy
No, only pool swim, and open swim:((
