    Genuinely love Endymion! The lore, the Endymion and Selene mythology, removing 6 counters to pop the boards! Negates straight from the deck without the extra deck. Best deck ever! Appreciate ya too 🏆

      Yeah, Endymion is awesome. I especially love how the usual ways to kill decks don’t affect Endymion. Like locking them out of the extra deck, stopping access to the graveyard, all the monster negates, etc. Endymions aren’t like every other deck which means that they don’t get hit by the usual disruption, allowing for them to stay competitive for so long.

      Also Linkuriboh got banned in the TCG so I replaced it for Aussa the Earth Charmer, Immovable. With all of these TOSS format cards getting unbanned, I’m expecting Electrumite to come back next banlist too so I’m keeping that extra deck spot flexible (which is ironic given Aussa’s title).

    I think the reason most everyone else who plays Endymion "bricks" is because they don't have the protagonist Mighty Master powers that Shadow has, lol.
    Also, I like Bestiary at 3 cuz it's the perfect card to pair with Servant for instantly getting a negate out of the deck with only those 2 cards. I took out basilisk cuz it kept getting glued to my opening hand with no way to get something to the face up extra deck to utilize it's effect. That's how I brick with this deck... I tend to open with extenders instead of starters; more specifically the cards whose effects are reliant on cards being in the face up extra deck. It makes me want to play Cerberus at 2 or even 3 just so I have more starters that also set up the face up extra deck.
    If I added cards to this list that I feel like would improve my consistency, I'd have Cerberus at 3, baby Jackal at 3, and Bestiary at 3, but that would give me a 44 card deck and then make upstart somewhat useless since the main reason people play it is to effectively have a 37 card deck. Although, since Endymion cares about spell counters, it would probably still see play in a 60 card deck.
    I've always been slightly confused why you only play baby Jackal at 2 when it's a starter. I guess It's prone to getting imperm'd or effect veiler'd, instead of just ash'd, which would more so stop your plays, unless your name is Shadow. Though, it could be at 2 just to get a 40 card decklist. And if you didn't play the spellbook package, you probably would play Jackal at 3.
    I think the hardest thing about piloting Endymion, for me, is there's not really a set combo line you do if you go uninterrupted and can do whatever your hand allows. Ya, the goal is to get as many Jackal Kings and Endymion's on the field as possible, but some of that relies on you getting lucky and drawing into certain cards. I think the best you could do without getting lucky draws and only relying on your cards' effects is 1-2 Jacal King's and 1-2 Endymion's depending on which negate you want more of for a total of 4 negates as long as you made Selene. The luck factors in with what you get in your opening hand for your high scale and whatever you might draw off of Electrumite, upstart, into the void, desires, spellbook, etc.

      I actually plan on running endy soon. I wonder what ideas I might bring to the deck once I do. Hopfully I will have shadows luck too

    • @shadowspector3611
      @shadowspector3611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, Endymions is extremely consistent and any hand that looks dead usually can be fixed by seeing the lines (and not getting hit by handtraps). The other day, I streamed for 9 hours and kept saying “this hand sucks” but they weren’t actually bad. I was just tired of the game and kept saying that lol.
      Bestiary at 2 was already causing somewhat of an issue for me last night too. I even contemplated dropping it to 1 to add another Secrets since double Secrets actually isn’t bad to see in the opening hand (the only issue is drawing it after the Spellbook combo). As for Bashilisk, he ends up raising the skill ceiling of the deck a lot. I don’t mind seeing him in my opening hand because even when it looks like I bricked, I usually can just summon a spellcaster to link away for Artemis, which lets me trigger Bashilisk anyway. Other uses for Bashilisk can help you trigger your counter holders too. There was a time on stream where I had Bash, Institution, Mastery, Called by and Endymion. It looked like a brick to begin with but then I normal summoned Bash and used mastery to add Servant. Activated Servant and institution and removed a counter from Bash to add Jackal and activate him. Instead of this being a dead end, Bashilisk let me remove three counters from himself to return Jackal from the scale back to my hand to activate and get that third counter. As for Cerberus, I don’t use him at more than one because when I do, the game always finds a way to put him at more than one in my opening hand. It’s already bad enough to have Cerberus Ash’ed and have him caught in the scale, but having more than one Cerberus in the opening hand already means you have a dead Cerberus.
      Jackal, Cerberus, and Bestiary at 3 sounds like a very bad idea though cuz this deck should avoid as many bricks as possible. In real life, I do use Jackal and Magister at 3 because I rely on the Jackal-Magister combo since I don’t have Electrumite. But in MD, the game will 100% find a way to give you the playset of those cards, which will definitely hurt your hand. That’s why I don’t use any play sets of cards that can’t all activate except for Mastery and Servant (because you always want to see them, sometimes even two of them). And while other decks use Upstart so they have a smaller deck, Endymions just use it so they can get spell counters without losing anything in card advantage. You can definitely run a 60-card variant and it would still make sense to include 3 upstarts and 3 Voids.
      Jackal definitely is a good starter but he’s easily searched via Institution (which I run at 3). And most of the time, I use Servant as my starter and I save my normal summon for either Blue Boy or for link fodder if I feel a delay Ike Imperm). If Jackal gets negated, I usually just link him into Linkuriboh before summoning him back with Jackal King. Also, I only started using the Spellbook package 6 months into MD (I’ve been playing Endymions since 2019), and before I used the Spellbook package, I still used Jackal at 2. If I get doubles of him in the opening hand, I usually just normal summon one and use the scale effect of the other to boost counters.
      And yes, Endymion’s non-linear nature does make it difficult to use (and that’s probably why it hasn’t really been addressed by the banlist because not many people understand it properly). And while it looks like it’s trying to get lucky with draws, there are so many good draws in the deck to get that boost your field. Several draw spells in deck gets you extra chances to draw and so many searches get your negates in your hand. If you can resolve Servant and have any two pendulums in your hand, you get one negate with Servant, one negate from Electrumite, fixed scales for a pendulum summon and if you put Magister in the extra deck to add back or if you drew/searched him, he’s an extra two negates for you when you link away one negate for Selene to summon it back. That’s disregarding whatever you drew. 4 negates is consistent enough but you’re going to be drawing your other negates or your search cards for them because of how many good options there are to draw.

    • @tacomonsternick
      @tacomonsternick 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@shadowspector3611 First off, I love that you respond to my comments with novels explaining things, lol. I think I just lack those protagonist Mighty Master powers you have because I usually draw into my other copies of Mastery or Citadel after already using it or a pendulum that I can't use it's effect, normal summon it, or pendulum summon it, then it goes to the gy because I used into the void, lol.
      There was even a time when I was trying to learn the deck in solo mode and I tried to do too much where I think I made Crowley, but then decided to also make Electrumite using Crowley as a material instead of just going into Selene and then my turn was over and all I had was a lonely Electrumite.

    • @shadowspector3611
      @shadowspector3611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tacomonsternick: Ah yeah, drawing double field spell can be super annoying but there are times when it’s useful because you need to cheat out two effects (but that’s very rare). Double or even triple Mastery is also unfortunate (happened to me yesterday on stream) but Mastery is such a good card that sometimes drawing another copy of it isn’t too big of a deal. And I’ve been hit with Void in the End Phase so many times that I’ve conditioned myself to check the graveyard before ending my turn. Losing everything sucks when you know you could’ve set them xD
      Also, you can’t use Crowley as a material for Electrumite because she needs two pendulum monsters. But it’s not always a bad idea not to make Electrumite after Crowley. My usual strategy involving Crowley is that if I brick with only pendulums in the hand (happens so often that I never missed Magicians’ Souls), I pendulum summon them out for Crowley so I can keep my normal summon. Electrumite is definitely a card that’s best saved for before you pendulum summon because she puts a lot of your negates in circulation. But there are times where you can make Crowley to draw 2 and still go for Electrumite because you still want access to specific pendulums (like getting an Endymion back from the extra deck that you had linked away with so you can use his scale effect).
      If you end up making Electrumite after Crowley, obviously the play is to use her and Crowley to make Selene (who gets you yet another negate out if it’s in your hand). But the most efficient way to keep negates on the field would be if you pendulum summon using Servant in your scale, she can trigger from the Spellbook spells and then Servant and Crowley can make Selene. So you’d be having one negate summoned from Servant, 2 negates with Magister (scale effect and monster effect), a negate reused by Selene, and then another negate that Selene can summon from the hand. This is all if you only pen summoned two monsters initially but with an average hand, you’ll have 5 cards so 3 monsters will be summoned and if one of those is a negate already, you’d have an additional negate on the field at the end, making for a total of 6 negates after a bricked hand.

    • @tacomonsternick
      @tacomonsternick 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@shadowspector3611 Oh, ya, Electrumite needing pendulums... forgot about that. Now I'm not sure at all what I did that game to do so much and end on so little.
      I just changed my Endymion deck to a 45 card deck. I added some spells that create tokens that can be fodder for Electrumite's pop or link climbing. One is Fiend's Sanctuary at 3 copies which isn't once per turn so if you have multiples you get counters and tokens. The other is One-Time Passcode; only run 1 because it is once per turn. Also these tokens can be good for going into the Charmer Links since one is light and one is dark.
      I also took out Bestiary because I added some pendulum monsters I don't want to mill. And I only have 1 Citadel since the deck doesn't need it to function and you don't want to see 2 and you can search it with Mastery if you really want it.
      The other pendulums I added were 4 magician pendulums being 2 Harmonizing, 1 Oafdragon, and 1 Wisdom-Eye to be able to synchro into Baronne and/or Stardust Dragon (might change this to Scarlight R.D.A.).
      The 2 final cards are 1 Pendulum Treasure -to put a pendulum from the deck into the face up extra deck; and a random card I found that is cool going 2nd... or 1st if you get Gamma'd called Magic Gate of Miracles -which if you control 2 or more spellcasters: change 1 attack position monster your opponent controls to defense, take control of it, and it can't be destroyed by battle. It's non targeting snatch steal! I might bump Miracles up to 2 because I just realized it's not once per turn. Only real downside is it can't take Links.
      Tomorrow, I'll be looking for more interestingly random spell cards that could be neat tech cards; as long as they are rare or lower rarity. I don't want to spend my SR or UR crafting points on a random 1 of that I'll only play in this deck, unless that card is absolutely broken. Secret Village of the Spellcasters in tempting, but only because I lost to it recently. I just found Dark Magic Veil that can special summon Endymion, Jackal, or Jackal King from the hand or gy for 1000 LP, also not once per turn. Allowing for more summons if you have those in hand or gy after you've already pend summoned or don't have scales (yes I know they themselves are scales but might not be the scales you need or you may only have one thing to summon).
      I'll probably have a 50+ card deck if I find enough things, though, I'll probably try to not go above 50 unless there's a lot of non once per turn decently cool cards.

    • @shadowspector3611
      @shadowspector3611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Chado_Games: Oh absolutely. Strikers can be good if you want to have more utility for going second, but you’re going to be having confirmed bricks in your deck if you’re going first. Widow Anchor will be 100% unusable and usually that’s run at 2 in the striker variant.
      Another issue is that both engines tend to compete for dominance in the deck. You either have to commit to your Endymion plays by using jackal, magister, servant, etc. but then all your striker cards are turned off. Or you use all your striker cards first and your abductor and servant get to 7 and 8 counters. Then you waste all of those counters by using their effects and you end up lacking in counters by the end of it. One of the ways the deck has so many counters is usually because Jackal King stays on the field for a while, but here, all your monsters are typically summoned with a very low amount of counters, which can be troublesome.
      Finally, one of the reasons this deck can be so strong going first is the fact that they don’t get hit by disruptions as easily as other decks. If your opponent is saving Imperm for a very key card like Electrumite, you can summon Endymion earlier and negate the Imperm. If your opponent has Nib, your jackal king can negate it. Same goes for Droll if you can summon out Jackal King before your first search (a very possible feat if you have jackal or servant in your starting hand). But when you use the Striker package, you become a lot more vulnerable to disruptions because you have to play in a very specific way to get the most out of your field. You need to have no monsters in the main monster zone when you summon Electrumite but when you do that, you’re at the mercy of your opponent not drawing any disruptions. The way I like the deck is that I build up negates for defense so if there is anything problematic, I still have the answers for it, but I can’t do that if I have to worry about making the Striker cards not dead in the hand.
      The way I’ve built my deck is that it’s versatile for any deck, it can go either first or second without cards only useable for going first (Secret Village) or only usable for going second (Dark Ruler), and this deck uses no bricks so dead hands are greatly reduced. Hope that answers everything!

      Kash is a rather straightforward matchup. I hardly have any real trouble with it. I also haven’t seen it in months except for yesterday when I faced off against it 3 times. Kash players stopped locking down scales turn 1 (they usually just go for the middle monster zone). Then they go for Ariseheart with one material. If you don’t want to give Ariseheart his banish, you only get one search before he gets it (Upstart, Void, Mastery, etc.). If you have Citadel, Mastery and any holder, you can search Endymion and and board wipe before giving Ariseheart the third material. If one scale gets locked, you can still use Servant to summon Reflection from the deck and bounce either Shang or Ariseheart. If both scales get locked, don’t give up yet! You still have one final option. If you have Citadel and Institution, Institution can search Jackal who can in turn remove 3 counters to summon Cerberus. If you can build just four more counters on your board, you can banish Shang from the field and free up both your scales again. This becomes difficult if Fenrir is face up and still has its effect, but with it being at 1, Shang can’t summon him from the deck if he was used as one of the materials. Other strategies would be if you can get any two monsters on the field before both your scales are locked, link one monster into Artemis and then both into SP to banish Shang as well.
      And remember! If Ariseheart is on the field, your opponent cannot use Veiler, Maxx C, Droll, or Ghost Ogre, so don’t bother playing around these cards either.
