I just now finished crafting a Branded deck and I search everywhere on yt for a guide, THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST DETAILED GUIDE FOR BRANDED!! Thank you and you have gained a new sub 👍👍👍
As someone who's been playing various versions of branded despia over the years, this is such a great video to see as I'm returning to the game. Thanks so much!
After watching the video in its entirety I can confidently say this is the best Branded guide one could ever wish for. I have been playing TCG Branded for about 2 years now and you managed to cover even the smallest details and interactions that generally are only learnt with a lot of experience. It was clear, well explained and cohesive. You really touched every little aspect and reported it in the best way possible. Despite being a Master Duel format guide, it mostly adapts to TCG and OCG and it is so well made that this is the one guide to recommend overall. I have been a big fan of your videos for many months now, since before the Bystials were added to Master Duel and Branded support had not been fully released. The best Branded guide coming from my favourite Master Duel Branded player, and one of my favourites in general. Keep up the amazing content, you deserve much more!
Someone on MasterDuelMeta commented mentioning this guide under a Branded decklist. When I opened it and saw it's 3:57:00 long, my eyes immediately went 😍since I love long, detailed, almost book-esque explanations. So far I've watched 20:35 minutes of it but I've already saved the video, and, to be honest, this level of explanation is something I have been searching for since I first started Master Duel (after being away from the game for over 15 years). I'm now going to go through your channel to find such guides on my favorite archetypes, namely Blackwings, Vanquish Soul, Labrynth, Synchrons, and Generaiders. If I find any guide like this on those, April, I'll watch every video you post. Thank you so so so much. Remember, the effort you put in making this video, has created an effect that's going to impact the Yu-Gi-Oh! community. Keep on ♥
This is what I'm looking for my whole life! I've recently come back to the game and being very confuse by the META, but your depth, informative guide is just perfect!!! TYSM, keep it up bro
I'm mid 30's coming back to the game after 20 years away and I can't explain how much this has helped me. I'd moved onto Branded Despia from a very simple DM deck to find my feet and was completely lost. I've had this on repeat in the background while working from home and I'm now managing to steadily climb the ranked ladder so thank you. I've picked up the real cards for most of this deck to try a real game with some friends, and fairly confident i'm going to get blown to bits when the activations don't light up gold for a handhold but I actually feel like I can play because of your video. As feedback, you mentioned the ai voice was an attempt at something new, I didn't find it distracting in the slightest and it came off very naturally most of the time - I wouldn't hesitate to use it if you found it of value it definitely doesn't detract from the video. Thanks again April
This is SO GOOD! And I don't even play Branded, yet. Just starting looking into the deck to see if its for me and you covered A LOT of what i needed to know. Thanks!
New subscriber here! This is truly an amazing guide. I originally picked up branded before the Bystials were released, and it was my first deck returning to the TCG after a 10 year hiatus. I kept my deck updated on MasterDuel, but focused on other decks until recently. Coming back to the deck after so much time was overwhelming! Your video is helping me relearn the deck, and has given me a huge appreciation for the strategy as a whole! I feel like every time I think of a question, your video pauses and answers it for me. It's like it's reading my mind! I'm going to need a lot of practice to get familiar with all these cards and the combos, and your video is an invaluable companion for doing so! Thank you for your hard work!
Hello, there! (Obi walk-in) Great to see this SHORT walkthrough guide as this after finally getting to the time to watch. Really appreciate the vid and Happy (late) New Year! Your content (not just Branded) is always welcome and hope for a great year for you channel/content. Will be following and grateful for you as you helped me improved my duel knowledge. Seriously 💯❤
I’ve been following your build on Master Duel Meta for a while since I like the same playstyle. I just realized this was you I’m so glad I came across your channel such a wealth of knowledge on Branded. Great video!
just saw this but good work right here. Been playing branded for a long time and I can say I'm pretty good at it, but once quem and stuff came out, I struggled to find a good guide. But this is the perfect branded video I've ever seen. Really thank you april
I'm not a branded player, but this guide is so well made. It's very informative even for a rogue player like myself who has to understand the different lines Branded can go for. 10/10 video.
Another thing to mention is that quem + lubellion is full combo (banish mercourier, setup early lost, get brafu -> standard albion combo dumping cartesia), so theres some justification for more quems as a pseudo starter (and in grind) when paired with the 3 shrouded or 3 lubellion you might see in higher card counts
This video has raised the level for tutorials so much that now I can't listen to other channels without feeling like something is missing. I wish I could meet a Tearlament expert (and other non-linear decks) who could detail the deck profile like the one in this guide.
Muchas gracias por tu dedicación! I build this deck as a beginer as my main deck and its complexity almost made me quit the game since i spend all my gems in it. But now after playing 2 weeks i think ill give it a chance again since you made this guide. Greetings from Mexico homie 🤙🏾🇲🇽
Liked, subbed and commented. Appreciate all the work you put into this, I've been playing branded a while now, but im sure I'll still learn a lot from this video
I just got my boy to download MD last night, and the same night the YGO gods blessed me with a 3h vid on how to play my main deck by my fav player 😭😭. Thank you!
I finally decided to start to build a Branded deck myself! Even if the guide is slightly outdated for the current meta (as of posting), the fundamental cards and combos are still great to reference while I’m learning the deck. Thanks April!
This is great, i don't play branded but this is what people and MBT was talking about more in depth competitive content. Ill eventually get through this.
You did a great job, thank you very much! After watching everything carefully and putting the teachings into practice, I can proudly say that I learned how to play Branded Despia from you. ❤️
I shifted my Branded focus over to a Synchro encompassing variant recently to move out of my comfort zone, this guide covers basically everything you need to get started with the standard Fusion builds from what I can tell though. Branded as an Overarching Archetype covers cards that show up in six different archetypes just when doing its Fusion setups("Fallen of Albaz", Despia, Dogmatika, Tri-Brigade, Springans, Bystial).
great guide! i know it's format dependant but my favorite branded tech this season has been adding 1 rainbow magician, you can send it with branded fusion and summon sanctifier in one special summon under maxx c which did me wonders in a ladder full of shs
When i see the notification, i knew it will be unironically long but 4 hours 🐻 Thank you for giving us so much of ur time to helping (me) us understand such a deck
Thanks for this guide! I've always wanted to build branded but I had it on hold because I wanted to focus on Visas Starfrost archetypes first. Now I've completed all the Visas Starfrost and now I want to finish building branded next! 😁 Visas Starfrost and Albaz lore is my favorite lore so I'm gonna build them even if they gonna get banned on nerf later.
oh you were COOKIN for the last month. this guide was excellent and MD is better off with more content like this. even got the staple touhou ost, very iconic for that
3:41:36 Purrely can actually use Happy memory to keep Zeus 3:42:29 Is a rare sight, since they love to go all in, but, so long as they can summon Lyly by having a quickplay set, can play around Herald Aside of certain Dark world / Archfiend Heiress shenanigans with Branded in High spirits, didn't knew how handy it can be, especially as a non-Branded player (Lab, but no floodgates... duels had been dragged to 11 turns and I have to play perfectly to stand a chance) To say this is a superb video is an understatement, if it wasn't cause can't afford it (on MD), would give them a shot (Blessed Edopro for testing thou) Have a wonderful day
I genuinely believe that if April sat down and tried to put everything she knew about branded into 1 video it would be 20+ hours long. There are so many micro interactions with branded it’s pretty insane
The most optimal cartesia/quem ratio is 2-2 imo. It’s always nice to have access to another copy of cartesia from the deck: sometimes its more efficient to get her from the deck and discard the one you opened or sometimes they get rid of the first one. If you have access to both you can keep them in rotation: 1 to recycle from the gv for extra value and one to keep in the gv to summon with quem if you need it. As for quem its always good to have one in the deck to summon in the end phase in case you open her and have better normal summons. It’s more efficient than like do weird shenaningans to get her into gv, and use resources to revive her that could have used into better dirsuption etc.. If you dont really like 2 quem i think at least 2 cartesia -1 quem is still better. Like i feel 2 cartesia has a purpose
Ive never had a second Quem come up. Second Albion, second and THIRD Cartesia, second Mirrorjade, but most games I only search out the Quem with Titaniklad, or she just doesnt come up at all.
The grind game part is quite true, I've played against brandon andys with both speedroids and labrynth, either you win fast, lose fast or enter an annoying grind game with aluber constantly re summoning itself and somehow ends on a decent board again if you've got rid of it completely. Also yes,I don't think brandon is an easy deck to manage, having a lot of different synergies+ different matches, pretty sure it feels like a puzzle overall
The End phase - pardon, Main Phase 3 seems particularly hard to manage. I've seen someone add Cartesia back from grave and then use Albion to add Branded in High Spirits, then use it immediately to dump both Cartesia and Granguignol and search Mercourier. They had Quem on board, so after that they summoned Cartesia back to the field. That deck is like a labyrinth: the corridor you're in looks short but you go around a corner and boom, another combo.
i think u need to take out high spirits. its lost a lot of good targets. going 1st it can be ok since u can play 3 lubellion. but going 2nd its not great. i think u play nadir and 3 lubellion now. magna is optional.
Obviously I love that branded is possibly the best deck rn cuz it’s my fav deck of all time, but I’m realllly interested to see what kind of crazy stuff is gonna get cooked up once it finally takes a big hit
I think I got matched against you on ladder yesterday, in a mirror match! I tried some really weird line trying to play around some stuff + min summons against maxx c and decided it was probably time to learn more lines and this vid helped me a ton, tyvm for the guide! It was either you or there are way too many ppl with April as a nick + Ecclesia pfp 😭
@@AprilShowerz You think running three lubellion after the saronir limit is a good idea? Also, is running 3 high spirits still good enough or should it be used at 2 and searched with Aluber when you need it? ty for the match as well you playing that well through ash and crossout yesterday was sick I probably should've used crossout on Maxx c instead of duplication but I thought I'd summon less than I actually ended up doing
At 2:11:09, shouldnt you have used Fusion Lubellion instead of Bystial Lubelliion as material for the ss of GGG, since keeping the later alive allows you to use his ability again in the next turn?
there is no other target to use the effect again for. also the fusion monster can be protected by opening if you have it, which works with furious. the fusion monster is also in the extra monster zone which gives you more room in the main zones. its slight, but notable. if u play another target then its worth keeping him instead, but be careful of zones.
H! Brilliant video, so much efforts were put into this! I am returning back to MD and I had this deck half built. I want to complete it now and play it as this seems fun. Is there an update to this guide now as the meta has changed. Lots of snake eyes and ace decks now! Please do reply 😁
with 1 saronir it might be not a good idea to play high spirits anymore. nadir servant is a good replacement for high spirit. playing 3 lubellion seems good
@AprilShowerz oh wow, you're right. 3 lubellion would make perfect sense. Thank you so much😊and also thanks for adding the nadir servant part I wouldve never noticed that
u can play apkallone, nadir servant, schism, and 1 beast. that way you can make winda from multiple ways. probably dont cut anything, the list is outdated anyway. just throw them in
Hey April, how did you set up the custom hand at 1:53:24? Is there a way to practice and experiment with opening hands without needing to restart a duel until you get what you want?
nadir servant is good. You can also just take out thrust and duplication and not bother replacing it with anything. you will benefit from having less cards in the deck anyway.
@@AprilShowerz Thank you so much! In the end I ended up crafting the 3 TTTs hehe, by the way I changed Despian Proskeinon for Luluwalilith, what do you think?
This guide has re-ignited my will to play Branded. It is just so good! The new lines felt overwhelming, as I felt like I was unable to play the deck optimally, but the guide helped me to clarify so many doubts I had. I also love to see some respect for Guardian Chimera, and addressing the match-up/plays against Backrow. I'm glad to hear someone agrees that the card is still good! On the other hand, it's sad I have to say goodbye to Ad-Lib, but I can see how there are so many better mills to do now. Thank you so much for making this guide! I appreciate every detail and explanation you have added for each card and combo you showed. I'll stay tuned for the next one! PD: ...BTW, how do you test custom hands in MD?
thankyou so much! i will say that chimera is not THAT good. it really only comes up sometimes. anybody who cuts the card is totally justified. you cant make custom hands on md. i used a mod u can see it in description.
@@AprilShowerz I really loved your in-depth explanation of all the cards in your deck and your reasoning behind it. That helped me the most actually, as a new branded player. So thank YOU!!! 😄
I saw some people use five-rainbow magician , should i use it or not , i think it’s okay to counter SHS and u can send it GY by branded fusion then if h set a spell or trap u can place it in pendulum zone to use it effect
you will only get use out of it if you send it with branded fusion on turn 1. You already get so much value from lubellion that you probably wont ever want to send rainbow instead unless you are certain the opponent is shs. for tournaments its a good side, but blind you dont wanna sacrifice lubellion. The rainbow doesnt do much if its not shs.
Great video, but I'm pretty poor rn in MD trying to make the deck. What cards out of these should I get in what order: Foolish, Sarcophagus, Thrust, Verte and Furious. I don't have S Poly either but I was determined on making that anyways, its just the other ones I am curious on. Have everything else.
I think thrust is the most optional card there. You could play the deck without thrust at all and it works just fine. Foolish and gold sarcophagus are important, so get those first.
@@AprilShowerz Thanks for the help, I'm currently going to gather gems for Diabellstar stuff. So all the scrapped UR CP is going towards getting the extra branded stuff. The deck even without everything is still good enough to climb ranked, and I have super heavy samurai on the back.
welcome back from vacation ^^ and thx for the guide anw I summon titaniklad than making regular combo branded for easy summon quem xdd and I'm playing branded synchro (with etude branded) not much giving brick also so what do u think ?
Im a new player and I like complicated decks like this, am I safe to just craft the main decklist and learn through trial and error? Any cards you would switch out now in the current state of the game?
yes i would no longer play droll. i prefer veiler now. snake eye is much more dominant threat now and needs to be respected. you gotta cut the saronirs and opening down since they are limited now, but the deck is fine as the rest.
Having to retool my branded deck after Saronir got limited. Still blows my mind that all three major bystials are limited now with the exception of Lubelion. Really hurts branded synchro consistency. I will probably have branded despia with 2 synchros because dis pater is just too good especially when lab drops dimensional barrier.
Thanks for the guide! How were you able to get the setup where you could customise your hands with the volcanic rats against CPUs? Did master duel add this feature?
if u wanted to directly replace them, lubellion makes most sense. maybe magnamhut. but also u should consider changes the whole deck too. Im not sure about high spirits since a lot of its good targets are gone.

A short guide for Branded
Proceed to make 4 hours long videos, impresive very nice
Wow!!! This is great info! Thank you for the guide!
Great "short" guide thank you ive been playing despia since before it was meta its a great toolbox of goodies.
I still find it crazy how this deck went from pretty easy with just mirrorjade and chimera being the interruptions to a 4 hour short guide
April this is awesome. Great guide with great explanation. Maybe now i can play branded xd
thankyou ❤
Amazing guide. Any thoughts on saronir to one? Is magnamut worth playing or do you just cut the deck size?
i think u need to take out high spirits. its lost a lot of good targets. going 1st it can be ok since u can play 3 lubellion. but going 2nd its not great. i think u play nadir and 3 lubellion now. magna is optional.
"short guide" yeah this is going to be a week long assignment 💀 cheers from one branded main to another
Obviously I love that branded is possibly the best deck rn cuz it’s my fav deck of all time, but I’m realllly interested to see what kind of crazy stuff is gonna get cooked up once it finally takes a big hit
Very awesome, in-depth guide. Hopefully, there will be a Labrynth guide soon. 🙏
How do you custom your hand to have yellow monsters like that?
I came for the meme
I stay 'cause it really a good guide
good video
I think I got matched against you on ladder yesterday, in a mirror match! I tried some really weird line trying to play around some stuff + min summons against maxx c and decided it was probably time to learn more lines and this vid helped me a ton, tyvm for the guide! It was either you or there are way too many ppl with April as a nick + Ecclesia pfp 😭
yes we did play :) thanks for watching
@@AprilShowerz You think running three lubellion after the saronir limit is a good idea? Also, is running 3 high spirits still good enough or should it be used at 2 and searched with Aluber when you need it? ty for the match as well you playing that well through ash and crossout yesterday was sick
I probably should've used crossout on Maxx c instead of duplication but I thought I'd summon less than I actually ended up doing
@@alpharkin i think high spirits is still too good to pass on. im playing 3 lubellion as well as magnamhut.
Congrats! I enjoy it!
short guide to branded XD you got me there ahahah. I think that kashtira for example can be explained in 4 minutes ahah
I'm gonna watch all of this when I find the time. You are a big inspiration, thank you!
Just when I built the deck and needed a guide right on time
H! Brilliant video, so much efforts were put into this! I am returning back to MD and I had this deck half built. I want to complete it now and play it as this seems fun. Is there an update to this guide now as the meta has changed. Lots of snake eyes and ace decks now! Please do reply 😁
my latest videos show more updated version. i havnt done another guide yet tho
Thank you for this video, it's a huge help !
Thank you, this is dope!
Yuki-san would approve this 🧐👍🏻
pick a number between 40 and 60

April, what would you do with 1 saronir in deck? What would you replace
with 1 saronir it might be not a good idea to play high spirits anymore. nadir servant is a good replacement for high spirit. playing 3 lubellion seems good
@AprilShowerz oh wow, you're right. 3 lubellion would make perfect sense. Thank you so much😊and also thanks for adding the nadir servant part I wouldve never noticed that
This is purely a meta call but @April, What do I cut for a Shaddoll package. Winda seems to be a great way to stop Snake Eyes
u can play apkallone, nadir servant, schism, and 1 beast. that way you can make winda from multiple ways. probably dont cut anything, the list is outdated anyway. just throw them in
i wonder, what did you replace the 2 saronir with after the limit?
Or do you think it is now more worth it to play 40 cards variant rather than 60 due to the hit?
Great detailed guide definitely should do more guides😊
its a shame i dont know as much about other decks 😆😆
Hey April, how did you set up the custom hand at 1:53:24? Is there a way to practice and experiment with opening hands without needing to restart a duel until you get what you want?
theres no way to do it without a mod unfortunately.
Thanks for the guide
I always struggle when i draw quem
time to learn new combo routes
I've never seen that kit add banishment + 1 branded spell combo
Thank you for the guide :) One question, I have everything in the deck except triple tactics thrust, what can I replace that with?
nadir servant is good. You can also just take out thrust and duplication and not bother replacing it with anything. you will benefit from having less cards in the deck anyway.
@@AprilShowerz Thank you so much! In the end I ended up crafting the 3 TTTs hehe, by the way I changed Despian Proskeinon for Luluwalilith, what do you think?
you will probably only miss proskenion in the mirror match. in most other matchups lulu is probably better.@@Sessho0
PD: ...BTW, how do you test custom hands in MD?
thankyou so much! i will say that chimera is not THAT good. it really only comes up sometimes. anybody who cuts the card is totally justified. you cant make custom hands on md. i used a mod u can see it in description.
what's the name of the song playing in the background?
I really love this guide
thanks
@@AprilShowerz I really loved your in-depth explanation of all the cards in your deck and your reasoning behind it. That helped me the most actually, as a new branded player. So thank YOU!!! 😄
I need a longer one no joke branded is very hard to play to its full potential
Hi my bro thanks a lot for this wonderful guide it helped a lot but one question pls how can i play against the cpu and choose your opening hand
i mention in description.
Also I have Lulu and Queritis so I am also contemplating on verte and furious. Branded ED is super tight.
you can play lulu or queritis but it would be taking the place of proskenin. furious and verte are needed if you can get them.@@lolmao7614
@@AprilShowerz Thanks for the help, I'm currently going to gather gems for Diabellstar stuff. So all the scrapped UR CP is going towards getting the extra branded stuff. The deck even without everything is still good enough to climb ranked, and I have super heavy samurai on the back.
welcome back from vacation ^^
and thx for the guide
anw I summon titaniklad than making regular combo branded for easy summon quem xdd
and I'm playing branded synchro (with etude branded) not much giving brick also
so what do u think ?
Will you be using your actual voice for the newest guide? I fully understand if not, but it might make it more easy to follow / understand
it will be using a different voice. it is just a filter so its easier to understand
with Snake Eyes and the new hits to branded, what would you recommend to replace?
probably play veiler and nibs now.
@@AprilShowerz thanks very much !!
I got one more question april..
I see a lot of people saying 60 card Branded is the way to go.. Curious your thoughts on that?
hi! how did you do that custom hand draw in CPU? cant find a custom cpu match here
i mention it in the description.
Thanks for the guide! How were you able to get the setup where you could customise your hands with the volcanic rats against CPUs? Did master duel add this feature?
i mention it in description.
Amazing guide!
Hey sir, saronir limit to 1. What cards could replace the spot?
if u wanted to directly replace them, lubellion makes most sense. maybe magnamhut. but also u should consider changes the whole deck too. Im not sure about high spirits since a lot of its good targets are gone.
That was sensational, cheers April!
