@@mythmage8231 I firmly believe that Thresh has a hidden passive that locks the lantern from being clicked by allies randomly at a 95% chance, it´s not that they´re not clicking, it´s just tough luck xD. (Not even gonna mention the ones that literally flash to your side while the lantern was by their side lol.)
I somehow didn't know about the 2 seconds cd refund if you hit a target. But after all I didn't check the wiki and only read the ability's description in-game (turns out it is written in the ability's description and I'm just stupid). After watching this incredibly amazing summary of why I can't play AP Thresh (the answer is that Death Sentence is SKILLshot) I no longer have to check the wiki to learn about such (not) hidden mechanic. Thanks Cryo.
A nitpick, but you should know that it reduces cooldown on hit from the in game description alone. It says it after the part that you can recast it; you dont even need to click shift to know that. Edit: If it turns out you play in a language where that part of the description is not present cause of the translation, i am sorry. Tbh this comment is a bit rude, but its just that part is not hidden at all.
@@stanisawzegnaek4923 Shit. I play in English and I somehow never read the ability fully (I guess). But alright, mb then. I'll go check to see my mistake for myself. Edit : You're right. I just checked and yup, it even hes it's own line in the ability description. I guess turns out I'm just a bit dumb. (Or maybe I just thought I had already read his entire kit and thus didn't read his abilities afterwards, or something.) But anyway thanks for pointing it out.
Now you did not talk about the most paranormal fact, the inexplicable desire of Thresh mains to walk back after hitting a hook (and then dash saying *weeeeeee*)

When I first started league, I was told clicking away when you're hooked by thresh decreased the amount of times he can tug you closer and the stun duration, lol.

I like his play style so much, that I started experimenting with everything and eventually landed on your videos over explaining thresh, watching it I never realised how much I already understood about thresh
I might be being baited here but I was curious so I tested it. From equal distance (roughly just within Flay distance), both a standard Q and a Q with immediate E forwards from hook launch to connecting with the target were both 10 frames (1.64 seconds). Trying again at point blank and both were 2 frames (0.033 seconds). Also tried about max distance and both results were the same (30 frames, 0.5s) from hook launch to impact. It was 61 frames for both from ability cast to impact. If there's something I'm missing, please let me know.
Hi man; you inspired me yesterday to play sheesh ton of thresh games and holy i have alot of clips that i made total masacre in that i want to show to you Haha
you forgot to mention that, IN the hook combo sessiion: you can do better use in close range if you let to use the death setence after flaying the enemy into you r ult, that gives A LOT os slow, and will garantee that hook.
One thing that always disturbed me about Thresh one tricks no matter the elo is that they are monsters of prediction when using their q. Exact same from Gold to Challenger. It's unnatural...
I might've missed it in the vid, but you can speed up Thresh's Q if you cast his E right as the hook is flying. It's comparable to a Blitz hook. Almost never useful though
I know ur a thresh main but could you overexplain Urgots spells, I main urgot adc and thresh is the best supp for urgot adc. So would it be possible to overexplain his kit starting with Q the most complex of his spells
In my opinion, "Death Sentence" is high risk high reward skill while "Flay" is the exact opposite of that. Pls make another video about "Flay" and compare it to the former
does the pull range change if you walk away while pulling??? can you walk towards tower to pull them closer to tower than would've been pulled otherwise?
you taking me back af, i miss the game before the dogshit "tankiness items" rework where it basically killed everyone from tanking besides the tanks themselves or you doing half of your build be armor.... i LOVED doing thresh toplane and taric before the rework it was absurd how much you could get away with and people were PISSED they lost to a support LMAO.
A fellow Thresh enthusiast and former OTP here. I haven't seen anyone mention the Minion-Kill-Q-Recast trick yet so I am pleased that you did. It guarantees a dash if one is good enough to hit the input window and is more important during the later stages of the game where Q does a lot more damage and is more likely to kill small minions and monsters. I try to have an idea of what Jungle camps are alive around me to have escape options. Also on a similar note which I'm not sure that you are aware of or mentioned in this video: During Thresh's Q windup animation one other ability or summoner spell (except Hexflash) can be queued up (or buffered?) to be essentially casted at the same frame as Q. Q + W (very useful to save/shield allies quickly, also clear up the Lantern if enemies would be on top of it) Q + E (spell-shield cancel) Q + R Q + Flash (dodging damage/cc, escaping or speeding up the combo: Q > Flash backwards > Lantern ally > Q-Recast Q + other Summoner Spell Bonus: On certain champions with dashes and blinks I like to wait recasting my Q up to the very last moment so that when I am mid-air the target can move again and Flash/Dash/Blink and take me along with it. Very good when you can also W an ally with you. I myself call this "Pulling the Line". Thanks to all the Ezreal and Katarina Players giving me free blinks! Good video and keep teaching so we all can learn and improve. :)
Back when i used to play thresh my go to was to e the enemy into a second wall of my ult, assuming he walk into the first one or got hook into it. Sometimes you can walk then to the corner and hit 2 but i never tested to see if that is a dps boost, i'm too casual
If Lyandris just does a bit less damage, would it be a "good idea" to build him as a AP Bruiser? He could survive after he landed his combo to ensure another rotation of the cc and having somewhat decent damage doesn't he? Or there is something I am missing?
I guess the main argument is "others do it better" (WAY better, see: Swain. Morde, etc). But vs full ap, others also do that better, too. I think bruiser is just fine with RoA, Riftmaker, Nashors kinda angle. Not sure if it's better than an AD bruiser, but at this point someone considering this has renounced playing optimally anyway (support), so build ap if you prefer weighty abilities, and AD if you prefer slaps.
Dam, you read EVERY SMALL DETAIL about thresh's Q and i realized its ass 😭 for being a HOOK (blitz, pyke, naut, etc...) its: Slow (casting and hook traveling speed), its hitbox its small and the pulls are short and have delay (even if sometimes it hooks bluetooth, its still a small hitbox compared to other hooks AND the "bluetooth" its usually on the tip, not at the whole hitbox LIKE FUCKING NAUTILUS FOR EXAMPLE... 😭), it has a NON-DECREASEABLE *SELF SLOW* , it doesn't let you use autos while casting + hooking animation, the "dashing to the enemy when recasting Q" has 0.5sec cooldown so you can't use it as a insant-dash... And before anyone says anything: I am comparing the hability to others, per-se the hability isn't bad (EVEN THO ITS A SELF-SLOW AND SELF STUN BRUH) But compared to what we have in league, ITS BAD, VERY BAD, so yeah, buff thresh 👍
