To be honest, Megadeth being cheesy and goofy is partly why I love it so much. It's charming. I can laugh at the sheer gorgonzola coming off Sweating Bullets, whilst thinking it's genuinely great and fun song for that exact reason. Cringe isn't always bad, but it is an aquirred taste. I'd rather it be like that occasionally, than having to be super self-serious and "hardcore" about everything I listen to all the time. I totally get why some people wouldn't be into it though.
I think Megadeth is just easy to poke fun at. It's not really hurting anyone. They have great songs and riffs and have done really well over the years!

Im gonna be honest, i always Wanted to see Megadeth. I Just Saw Anthrax with BLS and Exodus on February 4th. Finally saw One of the Big 4. Metallica got me into Thrash and Megadeth became one of my Favorite Thrash Bands. Great Playing Chain

I saw Megadeth at the heavy TO festival in 2011 (I think) and it was great (aside from Dave saying some non-sense on stage lol)

How can you really poke fun at one of the big four
As much as I love Megadeth's riffs I just don't like Dave's voice when he sings. Because their guitar riffs are almost always great
Yeah, Mega Dave's voices has always been kinda meh for me. That being said, the riffs are usually KILLER
His voice got a lot better by the time Youthanasia rolled around to be fair
