  • Today we have a very interesting video that we filmed during our trip in Baguio where we will be answering the question; what bus is best to take when going to Baguio, The Philippines LUXURY sleeper bus Joybus, or the basic AC Victory Liner Bus.
    We first head to Cubao to take the basic AC victory liner bus nice and early at 1 AM. This bus cost almost 700 PHP and was a bumpy mess, but we got there in the end. Next up is Joybus, which is the Philippines luxury sleeper bus in the Philippines with screens, nice seats, and more, it was definitely worth the price!

    It's nice to see foreigners not letting taxi drivers take advantage of them; keep it up. If every foreign and local traveler does this soon, there will be no abusive taxi drivers.

    you know these guys are becoming filipino when 1000 pesos for a 4 hour bus ride and 300 peso non metered taxi is too expensive 🤣 awesome frackin travel vlog as always biscuit boyz! stay epic🙌🏻 much love from chicago!

    good job on being persistent to look for drivers who use the meter. Most of the time I end up booking Grab as the price is way cheaper than what is being asked by the taxi drivers. It's really hard to find one who use meter.

    Taxi driver scammers to end it all! Gosh, a round trip adventure to Baguio is like spending the entire day on the bus with a bit of Baguio rainy weather in between. Epic. Next time, spend more time in Baguio. When I took that trip, I took the 1am trip and slept the early part of the trip until I was awakened when we got to the mountains as I was being swayed from side to side in my seat as we traversed the zigzag narrow roads and seeing a row of locally made brooms including ting-ting walis( brooms used by witches and warlocks in fairy tales to travel to distant places).Yes, seeing a Jollibee across from the bus terminal was a welcome relief for coffee and of course, the loo!

    Tip for Ph bus rides: Never seat on the last row it's the bumpiest part plus chances are you will seat nearest to the toilet and be able to smell all the stink. 😂

    Victory 1st class hands down. Seats are spaced wider. They have wifi and charging ports. Reclining seats and foot rests. They have bottled water and snacks.

      They do but the Joybus premium looks better. The new premium buses of Victory have stiff and narrow seats. Their older buses had seats that supported the lower legs when the seat was reclined while the new ones had none.

    Good job for asking for the meter. Even for us locals this is a struggle. Also, there are times when they cheat with the meter and it goes way too fast. But for honest taxi drivers, I always make sure to give extra/tip, from 10 pesos to 50 plus, depends. I even gave extra 150 before because it was christmas eve very hard to find a taxi. The driver didn't ask for any additional even if he might make it home late to celebrate. Share ko lang. Hahha. Kudos to honest drivers.

    no wonder people from the lowlands really appreciate taxis here in Baguio esp. from Manila pips. Government should do something about these taxis not using meters.

    • @axizcorp
      @axizcorp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Local government in NCR and other authorities like LTFRB are too lazy and make too many excuse to enforce the regulations.

    • @Dongitzclem57
      @Dongitzclem57 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enforcers can only do so much, particularly LTFRB. They're not in control of the drivers. All you can do is tell the driver to turn on the meter or you will meet in LTFRB. All taxis has LTFRB's hotline numbers, you can call them outright and report the driver and the taxi plate number your case. Or take the taxi's trade name and plate number and report directly to LTFRB.

    • @axizcorp
      @axizcorp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dongitzclem57 if enforcers can take too much time to apprehend one false violation, why can't they apprehend real violators. Having less manpower is just an excuse. There are many innovative ways to discipline violators. One way is by community service. Let the apprehended violators serve their sentence as the enforcers. Manpower problem solved.

    OH! You only took a day trip. I thought you stayed for a few nights here in Baguio. I hope you can visit here again and spent more time here exploring!
    Me, I'm very used to going to Victory Liner whenever I travel to Metro Manila. It's more convenient for me, and it is cheap. I easily doze off during the bus ride, so I don't really feel the bumpiness. I also tried using JoyBus to travel for Enhypen's Manifesto last February. It was also fine, and the seat is slightly more spacious compared to Victory Liner. The funny thing that threw me off when my friends and I used the JoyBus trip was that I was awakened by a kid's stinky feet! AHAHAHA! Literally the kid's foot was on out armrest! I didn't get to go back to sleep after that incident.
    About the taxi thing, I really don't get why most taxi drivers in Metro Manila don't use meters. They tell the price, then add alibis instead of using the meter. This is why I prefer to ride taxis here in Baguio because they use the meter, and they don't blatantly scam you. Since I'm from Baguio with the fear of getting abducted in a far place, I always use Grab whenever I'm in Metro Manila. It may be more expensive than riding a regular taxi, but I feel much safer and secure.
