I can give you little inside why the driver didn't stop even after that incident. Becuase robbery happens in night in few place. Sometime robbers try to stop bus by putting blockers or other stuff so that bus drvier slow down and they can get in to rob everyone. And the incident that happened with your bus seems like the case. Because if they had actually smashed other vehicles , the other vehicle owner should have called the p0lice right away. Since they didn't bother to call the police, you can be sure this was a trap. This is probably the main reason I can think of why they didn't stop. I don't think sleeping cause the issue, there is a second incharge who sits next to the driver, if that happened, he should have caught earlier. But I do agree on the fact, that they should have checked with all to see everyone is ok .

Also keep in mind, majority in this country don't speak English. Many knows only basic words and sentence. As a result many prefer to avoid a long discussion with foreigners. With that limited knowledge of English I don't think they will ever try to explain the actual situation. This could be another reason why they haven't explained you anthing. I know its frustating but language barrier is really a big issue in this country. Take the train ride back to dhaka. Wish you best luck and looking forward for next video. Keep smiling.

Green Line is one of the best bus service in Bangladesh. But it was an accident, no one expected it. So don't show your low mentality by unnecessarily blaming someone. Bangladesh bus service on long routes is quite good quality. The driver drove the bus in such bad conditions for your safety. It would not have been safe to stand on the street in the middle of the night.

Do you remember when you were in China, your bus stopped at the service area for a few hours? That's because China's highways prohibit buses from driving on highways from 2am to 5am to avoid accidents caused by driver fatigue. Although you may be disturbed by snorers and unable to sleep, but I think it's better than risking your life.

They actually took the responsibility to make sure you reach to your destination. Well what happened there is , green line has the most number of luxury buses. You took the economy bus . That's why they actually needed time to arrange replacement bus from the depot.
The reason anyone was not complaining is that , they actually think that accidents are the things that might happen any time randomly. Even after the accident they managed to drive it and reach the nearest station where you can have a bit of rest until the replacement arrives .
Just imagine spending night in middle of nowhere at midnight . Is it safe ? or the driver taking responsibility of each passenger on board and driving the bus to reach the nearest station is safe?
Everyone understands that , that's why no one was complaining about the situation. As the bus provider handled the situation responsibly.

they didn't took the responsibilities, they simply escaped. Otherwise there would have been police compliants about the attempt of the robbery on behalf of the passengers of that bus.
That would be the least responsible thing they could have done. They simply escaped and also, as mentioned, they didn't even bothered about asking any of the passengers out about their mental or physical health.

I'm from Bangladesh, but living in Europe for half of my life. This is one of the main reasons that stops me from visiting BD with my kids and wife. We just don't know if we will come back alive or uninjured. Bangladeshi roads are death traps. There are a few reasons for the bus or any driver not to stop. If they do, there is a risk of the bus or car getting mobbed and burnt. This is also the negative side of our culture that in a situation like this, people focus on destruction rather than the safety of the affected. This is why no bus/car driver would ever stop after any accident until they find a safe shelter no matter what. The attitude of the bus counter staff members was absolutely shameful! Glad that you both are safe and hope this does not take away any positive experience that you have in Bangladesh. Scottish and Irish are my favorite people in Europe. Thanks for visiting BD.

So sorry you had to go through this experience. We had a very unsavoury experience with green line ourselves. They made a standard pit stop and while my wife and I were taking a washroom break, the bus straight up left without us, no call or headcount to check if everyone boarded the bus. We had to take another bus and ride for 30 minutes to catch up with our initial bus which had our luggage. They just laughed the matter off just like they did in your video. No accountability whatsoever. The sad reality is that most of us here in Bangladesh are highly desensitised to reckless bus drivers because we are so used to it which is why most of us will just shake it off.
I would strongly advice you to take a flight to cox’s bazaar even though it’s much more expensive. Hope the rest of your trip is safer brother, take care!

It's distressing to see that such a significant accident went unnoticed by the media. It's crucial that incidents like these receive widespread coverage in Bangladesh to raise awareness and prompt appropriate action from authorities. The safety of individuals should always be a top priority, and it's essential for the police to thoroughly investigate the accident and take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. This video should go viral to ensure that the message reaches as many people as possible.

My guy, there is no way you are complaining about a small crash that you were not even close to. Your overreacting and the crash wasn't that bad like literally chill. If there was anyone that was injured, someone could tell the bus driver and the staff could assist. The bus didn't stop because there are many robberies at night some are armed. I get it that you were worried but pointing at the poor bus driver wouldn't make the situation any better and be thankful that he saved you. In that situatuon, he couldn't really do anything and I don't know how the bus crashed so I'm not really blaming anyone. But you disrespecting the bus company and him is not good. If you were that keen to not travel by bus, then why did you not go by plane or train? I hope you read and reply to this, I want to hear your thoughts because you clearly don't update people after reading the comments and acknowledge what they've said. But in Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, some robbers tries to stop busses by smashing on it or stopping the speed of other vehicles by keeping a vehicle across the road and I think your bus just smashed there. If that bus stopped you could get robbed. To make sure of passenger's safety, driver did not stopped there

  • @MK_117
    @MK_117 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

So sorry this had to happened to you. Let me explain some things here, please don't get offended.
Why the bus driver hadn't stopped the bus?
FOR YOUR SAFETY. The bus was in the the middle of nowhere & stopping there would've been a huge risk of being robbed. So, the driver kept driving for an hour to stop at a safe place. Every vehicle on the road in Bangladesh at night is at risk of being robbed.
Why they didn't tell you this reason?
Because of THE LANGUAGE BARRIER. Please remember this while you're in foreign countries. You will face this again and again.
    What about Green Line?
This company is THE LEAST BAD bus company in Bangladesh. Have you noticed I haven't said good? They should've apologized to you & calm you down & even with the language barrier they should've tried to make you understand.
About you two - YOU'RE TOO NAIVE FOR SOUTH ASIA. Please, hire a guide from a renowned tour company if you can. Use everything premium, for example planes, 4 or 5 star hotels, cars provided by hotels(ask for it), get the information from officers or hotel manager where you are about to go & make them accountable, if you find a trustworthy English speaking officer ask for his contact number.
Really worried about you two guys. Hope rest of your trip in Bangladesh is safe.

They are some whiny kids... who have nothing better to do but earn money through making TH-cam videos in poor countries like Bangladesh. Those Karens (Male and Female) both think whole world is waiting for them with red carpet! Blabbing of that girl to those bus counter guys are bloody disgusting! She thinks whole world knows her language! These kind of entitled people made me lose my last amount of faith in humanity. Just bunch of no-good whiny Karens!

Actually it's sometimes trap like you were traveling at night. Sometimes robbers or hijackers throw obstacles at night on the bus that the bus stops. The driver actually did right not stopping the bus. It doesn't happen always. Actually sorry to say but it's a bad luck. Normally happens when police gives low patroling in that place.

No rules here in Bangladesh, call police or not doesn't matter. Drivers bribe police officers to withdraw cases. Sometimes people die like animals & nobody even come to help them out.
By the way, frequent robberies happen in the middle of these highways that's why maybe he didn't stop or he just ran away because of police case issues.

Very sad to see her cry :(, also the reason Green Line didn't stop sideways was to protect its passengers, because the highway you were not safe at Night, bus robbery can happen and it could be worse, these highway robbers have guns and other local weapons, this is also the reason that other passengers were chill and not complaining, they are aware of it.

i hope if you come to Hong Kong or visit Japan you'll reconsider the buses, both Municipal and the Highway buses are decent, and even overnighters in Japan are decent, with several highway pit-stops along the way to stretch your legs. although you'd still want to bring ear plugs from all the snoring. These two places should give you a refresh on the bus system being a decent way to travel around. I love the buses in Tokyo's outer areas, you see so much more because they drive through a lot of local streets. Same goes for Hong Kong, maybe a little less for Macau but it's still not bad there, especially for crossing the bridges between Macau side and Taipa/Coloane(aka Cotai) side.

@@qianfong5397 that’s probably true, although they have had some experiences with the overnighter coaches in China and the experience wasn’t that great. i’m sure the local municipal buses are good in China, i don’t have enough experience to comment on them other than Hangzhou’s BRT is great, i’m just not a big fan of the ridiculously wide roads in Binjiang district. 😅

A Bus driver almost killed me and my girlfriend in Egypt. We missed hitting another coach coming the other way by millimeters. Driver had all the time in the world to slow down, but he just kept his foot in, both coaches were doing about 70mph, so we all would have died.
