@@BurgerurgerFPV Different channels should not make much of a difference in distance unless you are getting interference on a channel. Technically, a channel on a lower frequency will go further, but that difference is very minor between channels. Also using a channel that the video antenna is optimized for would help, but also should not make a considerable difference.
So what’s the point in unlocking and trying a different channel? Just for interference? And which seems to be the best. Trying to simplify this entire Beginner experience.

Thank you so much this video helped alot I turned my VTX off using the transmitter I don't know how everyone I asked had no Idea but this video helped and now it's sorted 👍🏻 so you get a sub from me 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Do 🔒 bands give you more range or something..that the factory delivered unlocked CE & FCC channel/bands do not ? I'm new sub.. Just getting into hobby.. I feel the instructions a bit confusing being watchful of color patterns and when leds illuminate etc. (Some color blind ppl can't tell) so OSD is better I guess.. Im out in the middle no where.. No wifi.. So no laptop either.. Are you saying my tinyhawk has a built in OSD similarly to betaflight? Like I can make UI adjustments on the HUD in my goggles ?
The Tinyhawk has a built-in Betaflight OSD, which makes it much easier to change bands and channels through your goggles. Different "bands" are just groups of channels that someone decided upon. The Tinyhawk ships with some bands and channels locked because in some countries those frequencies are illegal to use or could cause interference with other things like wifi. "Bands" are actually not that useful, but are a complicated way to get to different transmitting frequencies. You should look at a frequency chart to see the actual frequencies in MHz being transmitted because that is what is most important, not the band letter and frequency number.
Hi Ian, HELP, I just brought a Tinyhawk2 and my son in Bataflight after doing a Backup, perform a reset, and even after a restore the drone is like dead no more everything, do you have any idea what can I do to put it back to work? I will really appreciate it. Thanks
Hello, it sounds like there is a serious problem with it, like maybe it simply came dead (which does occasionally happen with electronics in this hobby) or maybe it had a shock from static electricity that fried a component, or maybe the power wire broke. I would recommend contacting Emax about this, especially if you are in the warranty period.
Hi mate does the tiny hawk vtx work with fatshark goggle ? I have the rtf version but I hate the goggles. Yeah they do the job but for my face shape there uncomfortable.
Yes, the Tiny Hawk VTX works with Fatshark goggles that have a 5.8 GHz receiver. Basically any 5.8 GHz VTX, which is what 99% of racing drones use, will work with 5.8 GHz FPV goggles, which are 99% of the FPV goggles out there.
Are you in the US? If so, you need an amateur radio basic license to use any FPV equipment if the equipment is not FCC Part 15 compliant, which pretty much all of it is not. I think the locked channels are only locked for specific other countries' laws. The license is not too hard to get. There are free study guides online with the actual questions that are on the test.
@@kylenmetzner5931 Sorry, I just edited it to make it more clear. Yes, in the US you need an amateur radio license of the basic level. With that said, many if not most FPV pilots don't have one. I got mine because I felt it was worth it for the knowledge and understanding and I recommend doing so also.
I have the tinyhawk for a week now and motor 4 died and I have to replace it. I switch the motors and check the plug its probably the motor, someone said I should replace it with 16500 kv motor and check my betaflighr setting which is reseted.
Sorry to hear about your motor. I am still using the stock motors. I am not sure what Betaflight settings would need to be adjusted. Could you explain what you mean by your Betaflight settings have been reset?
@@cyberduck7377 The original Tinyhawk has 08025 15000kv motors. Then they came out with upgrade 08025 16500kv motors for more power. Then the Tinyhawk S was released and that came with new design 0802 15500kv motors that are slightly smaller and more efficient, but they claim to also be more powerful. @@IanBeaty from some of the research I've done, you actually can change the power level to the vtx within betaflight in the CLI tab. There's a couple videos about it here on TH-cam if you search for the right things. On the Tinyhawk 2 freestyle its specifically 0-7.
It allows you to access different transmitting frequencies so that you can switch to channels that get less interference. This also allows you to switch to more channels so that more people can fly at the same time.
