    I am so happy that I found you! I had been asking God to guide me in finding the right resources. Not only is the curriculum that you shared absolutely wonderful, but I think the real blessing was Him guiding me to this video in general. You truly do give off light and I just thank you so much for gracing us with that moment with the scripture. It was beautiful and encouraging ♥️

    I was *just* looking up math curriculum for my middle-schooler before I went to bed last night! I was never given a foundation of practical math and was pushed into Algebra, Algebra 2 and calculus! I was pushed and never truly succeeded! This is, again, a beautiful God-Thing again Miss Sherry, you're such a nugget of gold 🙌🏻♥️😘 You're so dearly loved!

    1. Lay it flat is so much better for my style to.
    2. Thank you for the gorgeous covers!
    3. I will spend my summer doing these with the kiddos. I love switching programs for each focus of reading, writing or English, and math each season.
    Thank you again for the amazing finds! I think children thrive in switching style of things every few months while keeping certain staples like books and vocabulary.

    I love this and the covers you created are beautiful! So colorful and vibrant. I have noticed that my children (and even I as a student) preferred high contrast and colorful worksheets with few problems/activities on each. They seem to even retain what they learned better. I wonder if you could do a video on tips for children to retain what they are learning. Perhaps something they can travel with to stay consistent? Our family is on the move a lot. If we could pack their Bible verses, math facts, grammar somehow, and make it portable! lol. Thank you Sherry!

    Just bought your lesson book for my first grader and its it's coming tomorrow! Also I had a question about how Wentworth compares to Ray's arithmetic? Is one more difficult or faster paced? Also would you recommend sticking with one author like Ray's or strayer Upton or Wentworth's all the way through or would a student be confused switching from one to another? As always though, I am always so excited to see a video post from you! And I am so blessed by your insights on Scripture, what a blessing to hear we can be salt and light in our little sphere❤

    • @MomDelights
      @MomDelights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think that depends on the child and the place they are in learning. Ray's does tend to move ahead pretty quickly, which is good for kids who move that fast. Wentworth is one of those that help kids meditate in each area, but I have a fast mover who loves it, she just reads and skips wherever she needs to. I should have mentioned this, but the Strayer-uptons are about 15 years newer, so there are mentions and pictures of cars and airplane travel, etc. I have switched my children whenever it was needed, and I *think* they're pretty normal, given they have a creative for a mom :P

    • @berrypatch5583
      @berrypatch5583 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I noticed a cool benefit in my book of Wentworth while researching it to to tonight, that it starts primary with physical amounts or lines plus lines instead of abstract numbers right off the bat. I think this incredibly age appropriate and leans itself to playing with cars or Legos or blocks when playing with the littles for reinforcement without even feeling like you are. Today me and my littles were playing Hi Hi Cheerio and my 2 year old was counting her cherries, my five year old kept adding and subtracting then counting to make sure he was correct, and they were also learning taking turns/ how to lose and be happy for each other's successes. But in regards to the math, it is so foundational to learn the manipulative or visual stage before the abstract and Wentworth does this for the first half of primary! This is great for K or review in first grade, but looking at the end of the book this is building advanced skills for first for second grade even.

    Math has been a very frustrating subject in our house. I am very math minded, but two of mine and another I homeschool are not. They are now 9th grade and 8th grade. We struggle to get through basic addition. I think the other girl I homeschool struggles with number sense period. I watched your video about demystifying math which was before this video. Would you recommend Wenworth over the Hamilton books or Number Stories?

    • @MomDelights
      @MomDelights  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I actually think Number Stories would be best for someone who is struggling with math sense. One other thing to keep in mind is that there is actually a "math maturity" stage for each persons brain, and the age at which we reach the cognitive maturity for math concepts varies from person to person, just as in the ability to comprehend reading basics.

      That's crazy! I suppose just grab a decent printer--pray about it and see what God will open up. Our current printer was a display model that we picked up for 1/2 price, and it is just an HP all-in-one, old enough that there are scads of cheap printer cartridges out there.
