      Yeah it's the same principle of straight men wanting, performing, bending over backwards to get women, and then hating on them and their whole gender.Transphobia stems from the same misogyny roots, so it works exactly like the weird, intense, deep seethed hatred men carry for women ever since the dawn of the patriarchal society.
      Normal, well adjusted people have difficulties understanding those that can be aroused by someone they hate\despise, because normal people have at least basic respect for the person they desire, since they recognize them as a "person" and not as an object to be used.

      Yeah, in particular trans people tend to deal with a ton of men who think they are easy or want to "experiment", yet these same men are also so deeply insecure about their heterosexuality that they need to lash out in order to reaffirm it. Now I do not know for myself if it is gay or not to date MtF transgender folks because as a reasonable-ish person, I do not see why I should care what people may think of me. If this makes me gay or straight, so be it. Who cares about that label of being gay or straight?
      Speaking as a man who has transgender friends and who has dated people who identified as such, a ton of male socialization is a fear of being seen as homosexual.
      If you want a good scene tackling this topic, The Sopranos has a scene where Tony admits to Dr. Melfi that he does not care if Vito is a closeted gay man, but that he is forced to care by the masculine culture of the mob.

    7:05 to be very clear, Guy isnt "pretending" to be anti trans, he is anti trans. A lot of people who hold transphobic beliefs are attracted to trans people. I think part of it is holding the belief that being trans is inherently sexual, partially attraction to tabboo, and partially frustration with themselves at being attracted to trans people (then going out of their way to be transphobic in public). As a trans man, I've experienced many transphobic people expressing attraction when nobody is looking. It's very common.

    Fun fact there doesn’t need to be CSAM in a conversation with a minor, only proven intent to solicit/active inappropriate conversation to be in legal trouble. Also a small note I sure hope there was no CSAM in that conversation because CSAM is defined as exploitative materials such as photos and videos, explicit messages as far as I know are not legally considered CSAM it’s considered proof to solicit lewd acts with a minor. 15:40 is absolutely critical here. He never confirms that the minor WAS over the age of consent. He instead ASKS A QUESTION, 'did any of you consider that the Twitch user MAY have been over the legal age of consent at the time of the messages?'. He then moves on immediately without confirming whether she was, or wasn't. No age provided. It's just a vague ask -- 'did you ever consider the possibility? I mean, it's not what happened in this case, but did you think about the possibility?'. This means that the victim could have been 13 years old, and the way he phrased his question is still true. And I know a lot of women, have talked to even more and I never hear them talk about wanting men for their money. Women have careers now and make their own. Look at the couples around you in real life. Real women will tell you personality is #1. That’s what you fall in love with. Unfortunately a lot of guys feel uncomfortable about love cause they grew up being taught anger was the only acceptable emotion to feel. That’s not how human beings are meant to be. It's hilarious when guys like this act like they're entitled to a trial by jury proving he committed a crime to warrant a ban. He had 2 previous bans for inappropriate content including illegally filming strangers in a bathroom, so inappropriate messages to a minor makes him a brand risk regardless whether or not it crossed any legal barriers. If it came out that Twitch did nothing and Guy went on to do something even worse, they'd be complicit so they had no choice but to remove him.

    • @faun7179
      @faun7179 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right? It also isn’t like they *didn’t* try to ignore this? They ignored this for 4 years after canceling his contract, because they didn’t want to lose money from the bad PR of having had him on their platform at all because of his previous actions making his last one before his ban look even worse for them having had him as one of their top earners. First and foremost, Twitch will seek to preserve itself, not out of protecting the minors integrity or privacy (which, do not mistake me, is extremely important, but what I am saying it is not a priority for companies, plus like… laws for that stuff that they have to comply with, but I don’t believe at all in any way they do it out of inherent or practiced goodness, but out of self preservation and legal necessity) but because they did not want to risk a loss in revenue from having the spotlight turned on them, so they quietly terminated him instead. It took ex-Twitch employees who were likely foaming at the damn mouth to get out of NDA’s or just their employment contract (I’m not sure what twitch employees are bound to, whether they have an NDA that lasts a certain amount of time post leaving the company or if it ends once they do) to be able to speak about it. But like you said, he was a brand risk, and they already knew that from previous shit with him. He had his unlimited chances card revoked, not because men like him *don’t* have unlimited chances, but because capitalism comes first before those privileges and it will eliminate you before it protects you. For someone who claims to be so smart, he didn’t figure out the game too well.

But the context of using it as an argument to protect himself is what makes it absolute weirdo/creep behaviour. Knowledge is not a bad thing, weaponizing knowledge is.

      When if anything its some specific people who felt he was doing wrong things. Not twitch as an organization… who were perfectly happy to make money off of him so long as everyone kept quiet and no one knew about it. Like any other organization. It was individual *people* who went “oh shit, no one going to do anything about this/It’s likely this won’t actually have anything done? Well, I have connections. I’ll make sure something gets done”. Because they knew twitch would seek to protect itself and eliminate any bad PR that would hurt its money making before protecting him, but also felt that him being allowed to just go on normally without anyone knowing what he used his platform for previously could spell out danger and took matters into their own hands.
      The fact that he claims to be so smart and savvy and doesn’t understand capitalism and how it will eliminate you before it protects you is embarrassing. He had his unlimited chances and they let his privilege do the work until his history was a possible threat to them with this latest act. That’s all. *People* took the actions that led to this, not twitch. If anything he’s ascribing more good will to twitch than they as a company are actually capable of having.

    The way you feel about cheating is the way EVERYONE should feel about cheating. A mistake is like showing up late to a date because you didn’t get ready fast enough. It doesn’t involve sticking yourself in another human.

      Wow, good job pointing out that different mistakes exist, despite how you want to pretend like one was an evil plot.

      I feel like everyone is reading mistake as like "an accident, an oopsie, not intentional" where it can also mean "oh i shouldnt have fuckin done that, i made a terrible decision"

    “You can make anyone’s messages look inappropriate that way!” Bruh out of context 99% my messages with my friends who are MY AGE and also ADULTS are about Minecraft TH-camrs. I assure you this is a you problem

      And if you were messaging a minor that you had a normal relationship with (like a family member or a kid you babysit) I imagine it would be hard to find messages that could be taken out of context to make you look bad.
      Trying of make a case out messages “Do you need help with your homework” and “It’s getting late you should go to bed” is not an easy task.

    As a victim of creepy online shit, if my abuser went online and started talking this smugly I would be beyond incensed. Sending love out there for everyone who has to deal with this crap.
