Using a person from a minority group for sexual pleasure while also vilifying and/or hating them is not exactly a new thing. These people tend not to be overly concerned with the rights and wellbeing of their "sex toys".
yeah like, im not gonna raise a stink abt it bc i know d'angelo was just speaking off the cuff but when he said dr disrespect was "pretending to be anti-trans" i was like nahhh, that man is still 100% anti-trans
Fetishizing someone for their identity is a form of discrimination so the line to cross to get into bigotry is basically so close it's already crossed.
Yeah it's the same principle of straight men wanting, performing, bending over backwards to get women, and then hating on them and their whole gender.Transphobia stems from the same misogyny roots, so it works exactly like the weird, intense, deep seethed hatred men carry for women ever since the dawn of the patriarchal society. Normal, well adjusted people have difficulties understanding those that can be aroused by someone they hate\despise, because normal people have at least basic respect for the person they desire, since they recognize them as a "person" and not as an object to be used.
Yeah, in particular trans people tend to deal with a ton of men who think they are easy or want to "experiment", yet these same men are also so deeply insecure about their heterosexuality that they need to lash out in order to reaffirm it. Now I do not know for myself if it is gay or not to date MtF transgender folks because as a reasonable-ish person, I do not see why I should care what people may think of me. If this makes me gay or straight, so be it. Who cares about that label of being gay or straight? Speaking as a man who has transgender friends and who has dated people who identified as such, a ton of male socialization is a fear of being seen as homosexual. If you want a good scene tackling this topic, The Sopranos has a scene where Tony admits to Dr. Melfi that he does not care if Vito is a closeted gay man, but that he is forced to care by the masculine culture of the mob.
THANK YOU for using the word "child" in place of "minor" in some places. obviously "minor" is important to show the legality of it all, but i think sometimes people almost separate the weight of it. "sexting a minor" is disgusting, but "sexting a child" hits even harder

7:05 to be very clear, Guy isnt "pretending" to be anti trans, he is anti trans. A lot of people who hold transphobic beliefs are attracted to trans people. I swear sometimes, as someone who was groomed online as a teen, I feel society definitely fails victims of online sexual abuse. You can be abused online, and groomed, especially as a teenager or kid, it's actually very easy. Every single TH-camr who has been caught being predatory towards children and teens online should be treated like anyone who did that in person because it's just as harmful and the victims are even more likely to be invalidated by people.
Big agree. I was also groomed online a teen and it should definitely be taken more seriously because of how quickly it can happen & how negatively it can mess with your trajectory.
Absolutely agree. The internet makes it ridiculously easy for predators to target vulnerable children and there need to be a lot more protections in place, along with repercussions for those who do these horrible things!!!!

Fun fact there doesn’t need to be CSAM in a conversation with a minor, only proven intent to solicit/active inappropriate conversation to be in legal trouble. Also a small note I sure hope there was no CSAM in that conversation because CSAM is defined as exploitative materials such as photos and videos, explicit messages as far as I know are not legally considered CSAM it’s considered proof to solicit lewd acts with a minor. Also for those who don’t know CSAM stand for child sexual abuse material.
twitter sent his messages to NCMEC and they found nothing wrong. Also there was already a court case and they found no CSAM in his messages. Since he will not face any legal action it's up to the public to decide his fate as a content creator. judging by his first stream back... many donations from streamlabs and positive comments on his channel. He'll be alright and likely get his monetization back since he technically didn't break any youtube ToS either (he said he's reapplying on the 15th)
15:40 is absolutely critical here. He never confirms that the minor WAS over the age of consent. He instead ASKS A QUESTION, 'did any of you consider that the Twitch user MAY have been over the legal age of consent at the time of the messages?'. He then moves on immediately without confirming whether she was, or wasn't. No age provided. It's just a vague ask -- 'did you ever consider the possibility? I mean, it's not what happened in this case, but did you think about the possibility?'. This means that the victim could have been 13 years old, and the way he phrased his question is still true. It's so disgusting.
The funny thing is that it wouldn't make any difference if they were 16 and lived in a state where the age of consent is 16, twitch still would have fired him because they're still a minor. But yeah the way he phrased it they could have been even younger
Maybe because he doesn't have access to the actual chat logs? So he can't PROVE it. If it was an issue, why wasn't it handled internally by the security team within Twitch? They flat out said there were no issues to be handled. Cody guy obviously had an agenda towards Doc, seeing this coming out several years later all of a sudden.

He had 2 previous bans for inappropriate content including illegally filming strangers in a bathroom, so inappropriate messages to a minor makes him a brand risk regardless whether or not it crossed any legal barriers. If it came out that Twitch did nothing and Guy went on to do something even worse, they'd be complicit so they had no choice but to remove him.
Right? It also isn’t like they *didn’t* try to ignore this? They ignored this for 4 years after canceling his contract, because they didn’t want to lose money from the bad PR of having had him on their platform at all because of his previous actions making his last one before his ban look even worse for them having had him as one of their top earners. First and foremost, Twitch will seek to preserve itself, not out of protecting the minors integrity or privacy (which, do not mistake me, is extremely important, but what I am saying it is not a priority for companies, plus like… laws for that stuff that they have to comply with, but I don’t believe at all in any way they do it out of inherent or practiced goodness, but out of self preservation and legal necessity) but because they did not want to risk a loss in revenue from having the spotlight turned on them, so they quietly terminated him instead. It took ex-Twitch employees who were likely foaming at the damn mouth to get out of NDA’s or just their employment contract (I’m not sure what twitch employees are bound to, whether they have an NDA that lasts a certain amount of time post leaving the company or if it ends once they do) to be able to speak about it. But like you said, he was a brand risk, and they already knew that from previous shit with him. He had his unlimited chances card revoked, not because men like him *don’t* have unlimited chances, but because capitalism comes first before those privileges and it will eliminate you before it protects you. For someone who claims to be so smart, he didn’t figure out the game too well.
27:27 "what are we, in second grade?" ohhhh terrible wording from someone who was accused of grooming a minor from the very audience he is now speaking to. you of all people should know that they very well could be in second grade, buddy
For those in the fence, have this in mind: the only time he properly apologized was when he cheated on his wife. He felt he didn't have to take seriously the nonce stuff. It's deranged.
If someone knows what the legal definition of sexting is, ask why. If they're not a cop, lawyer, social worker, or psychologist specializing in treating abuse, that's a HUGE RED FLAG
I mean, or they've read news stories involving it before, or they've been down a wikipedia rabbit hole. Heck, everyone who watched the video knows now. The red flag here is more that he's using that knowledge to downplay his behavior, not that he has that knowledge.
This is a bad take imo, anyone can know a legal definition. Instead the real red flag is the fact that he probably only knows the legal definition because he was in a lawsuit about potentially sexting a minor.
You could also be a victim or a victims family/friend. It is not exactly uncommon and it is definitely the sort of thing that would cement such information on your head, but you wouldn't feel exactly comfortable talking about it to just about anyone. But the context of using it as an argument to protect himself is what makes it absolute weirdo/creep behaviour. Knowledge is not a bad thing, weaponizing knowledge is. In my school there was a case of revenge porn and another of grooming... towards minors and I am not from the US but if the laws are similar the legal definition is an absolute joke and does a pitiful joke at protecting victims, that's my two cents on the matter.
That… did hit me, when D’Angelo brought up the article. My brain immediately went “hold on hold on hold on. You mean… this happened four years ago, he’s been streaming on youtube and having a career but twitch said nothing and it took ex-employees that were probably just foaming at the mouth waiting to be released from NDA’s to be able to talk about this?” And my disbelief only grew as the video went on because he feels like twitch… is persecuting him? When if anything its some specific people who felt he was doing wrong things. Not twitch as an organization… who were perfectly happy to make money off of him so long as everyone kept quiet and no one knew about it. Like any other organization. It was individual *people* who went “oh shit, no one going to do anything about this/It’s likely this won’t actually have anything done? Well, I have connections. I’ll make sure something gets done”. Because they knew twitch would seek to protect itself and eliminate any bad PR that would hurt its money making before protecting him, but also felt that him being allowed to just go on normally without anyone knowing what he used his platform for previously could spell out danger and took matters into their own hands. The fact that he claims to be so smart and savvy and doesn’t understand capitalism and how it will eliminate you before it protects you is embarrassing. He had his unlimited chances and they let his privilege do the work until his history was a possible threat to them with this latest act. That’s all. *People* took the actions that led to this, not twitch. If anything he’s ascribing more good will to twitch than they as a company are actually capable of having.

Yeah, we're "not suitable for civilized society", but we can be their "dirty little secret."
God I hate transphobes dehumanizing and using us.

Came here to mention this.
I second this. kids can be affected by what they see, online or otherwise
I’m sorry you experienced that and i hope you are doing great
Big agree. I was also groomed online a teen and it should definitely be taken more seriously because of how quickly it can happen & how negatively it can mess with your trajectory.
i’m sorry you went through that.❤️
Absolutely agree. The internet makes it ridiculously easy for predators to target vulnerable children and there need to be a lot more protections in place, along with repercussions for those who do these horrible things!!!!
seeing plenty of people defending him while he admitted to texting a minor inappropriate is disturbing
I went to his TH-cam page, people seem really happy he is back.
almost as disturbing as some of the same people wanting to defend child predators five minutes later if they happen to not be straight/cis.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people defending this type of behavior, or pushing the age gap, or trying to suggest that legality equals morality and it’s so creepy.
it's not surprising, people defended Pyrocynical when he literally admitted everything and he's a beloved youtuber again. same thing will happen to Dr. Disrespect lol
@@thomascross8339Except that isn't happening, you just made it up like a loser lol.
I thought you meant "caught sexting a minor" which doesn't really make sense to ur comment but it would make sense to the vid

Whispers on Twitch don't let you send photos or videos, but you could link to imgur or Google photos I guess.
twitter sent his messages to NCMEC and they found nothing wrong.

It's hilarious when guys like this act like they're entitled to a trial by jury proving he committed a crime to warrant a ban.
Yeah, sure, plenty of people like you are accusing him of things, but that doesn't mean much. I mean just look at you.

My boyfriend used to watch Dr Disrespect. To be fair, i used to watch Russell Brand.
Proof that you can move on from toxic people.
@@shadylittlefox
mine was trisha paytas 😔
How is Russel Brand toxic? I watch him all the time and he doesn't seem toxic to me at all. Calling out the worlds hypocrisy is toxicity?
@@Swollen_Goat there are four serious and credible accusations of rape and sexual misconduct leveled against him.
In my school there was a case of revenge porn and another of grooming... towards minors and I am not from the US but if the laws are similar the legal definition is an absolute joke and does a pitiful joke at protecting victims, that's my two cents on the matter.
uh.... maybe it's because tons of goofballs like you were claiming he did it
@@usucdik He'll never love you, bro
It's crazy that bro is saying twitch is after him, when they hid the fact he sexted minors for 4 years.
I cannot help but think of the Unus Annus "Hunger Games with TH-camrs" video. In which Jenny Nicholson snaps Dr. Disrespect's neck. _If only._

They did TH-camrs and one of them, Jenny Nicholson, murdered another, Dr. Disrespect. Alas the video is deleted now so you can't watch the clip, but it will forever live on in our memories
If fantasizing about killing someone when the person was found to be innocent by the law and winning his lawsuit isn't psychotic behavior, idk what is
"what are you, second graders?" yeah youd like that wouldnt you
The way you feel about cheating is the way EVERYONE should feel about cheating. A mistake is like showing up late to a date because you didn’t get ready fast enough. It doesn’t involve sticking yourself in another human.
Wow, good job pointing out that different mistakes exist, despite how you want to pretend like one was an evil plot.
I feel like everyone is reading mistake as like "an accident, an oopsie, not intentional" where it can also mean "oh i shouldnt have fuckin done that, i made a terrible decision"

“You can make anyone’s messages look inappropriate that way!” Bruh out of context 99% my messages with my friends who are MY AGE and also ADULTS are about Minecraft TH-camrs. I assure you this is a you problem
And if you were messaging a minor that you had a normal relationship with (like a family member or a kid you babysit) I imagine it would be hard to find messages that could be taken out of context to make you look bad.
Trying of make a case out messages “Do you need help with your homework” and “It’s getting late you should go to bed” is not an easy task.
