Sadly knowing that because they apparently (according to 5 minutes Reddit reading; had never heard of them before) have a reputation for being against black woman, you can get away with it if you direct it at black women and not black men.
"Angry black person" is the most insidiously well-crafted stereotype I've ever heard of. Criticize it, even question it, and you'll be dismissed by people who already believe it and see your legitimate concerns as just you being "angry". It's breathtakingly evil.
its such a dangerous stereotype too.. because its so prevelent, it worms its ways into poc brains, aswell as whites, and from there it makes anyone who has a normal argument with a black person so much more standoffish..! so much more ready to use violence as a "defense"
It’s a way to silence and minimise valid emotions and criticism. The same as how they spin woke, snowflake, sjw, triggered. Yes, I am sensitive & frankly angry and embarrassed these jokes are still being recycled. I’m not even black, so I can’t imagine how tired you lot are. The internet is a landfill of bland white men who think they’re funny/unique just because the algorithms favour them. They’ve always been as compelling as white bread.
Yup, it is even something that can hinder you when it comes to getting proper medical treatments. You can get marked down as a difficult patient just for voicing your concerns and advocating for yourself when you're not being taken care of correctly. And it stays in your paperwork from then on which makes every doctor expect aggression and difficulty from you from them on smh
As a black woman....can we implement the "keep my name out of your motherfucking mouth" challenge where ppl have to stop talking about us. Cause like I'm tired. Talk about something else. Leave me out of it for once. I'm minding my own business. I need men to do the same 😭
The obsession and entitlement has deeeeeeeep roots. They covet, desire, and lust yet they feel the white supremecy rearing up and have to degrade mock and devalue that which they desire. So the black woman becomes dehumanized and the white man stays in this self deluded, elevated entitled position above her in his mind. You only become worthy when he says so. And black men want their approval and sell out the black woman. And after all this men can't figure out why they are lonlier than ever before.
You know what’s crazy is that if a black woman was sitting in that room when it was said, it’s a lose lose for her. If you respond, you’re feeding into the stereotype and if you don’t you’re perceived as part of the problem.
@@AnthonyBurback Hey Andrew, you could've did a better job of hiding your dummy account. You should actually be reaching out to your PR team instead of trolling these comments. Best regards.
Shane Gillis has an uncle with Downs Syndrome which is why he took it personally. He was classy enough not to drag him into the reason why he didn’t find it funny, he just stood up to Schulz.
his brother also has down syndrome. good point that he wasn't like "my brother has down syndrome its not funy" but instead was straight up "this is just not funny"
I believe that played a part in the situation for sure, but still, I respect him for calling them out up front and in the moment. Many, if not most people, wouldn't for fear of being ostracised. Even when it concerns their friend/family. For instance, a girl I went to high school with had a disabled younger brother, and her best friend was bullying a kid with the same disability, and she went along with it. I only found out about her brother later and couldn't understand why she would let that fly. I know it's anecdotal, but it's one such example.
Actual professionals will do research on their guests before they appear on the show. They either knew this or were too arrogant to do their research. These bro podcasts have 0 integrity nor professionalism.
On top of that, Shane literally lost out on being on SNL because of clips resurfacing with him making racist jokes on podcasts. Unlike these other doofuses, this is man who actually experienced a consequence to his actions and I feel is trying to better himself because of it. But that’s a nearly impossible concept for other straight white men to fathom
I’m over white men saying they like edgy jokes when it’s just veiled with racism, sexism and just offensive “jokes”, which is just making fun of a minority.
@@secondarygroup6715 have u considered making jokes that are not insulting, or perhaps making the insulting jokes about urself instead of others? works for me, gets lot of laughs, especially when it's relatable stuff
Yeah, how strange their 'jokes' are never targeted at other white men or Christians or any other group they belong to. Only liberal or self identified male feminists MIGHT get made fun of and it's only because those guys occassionally take up for groups these dudes hate like women, poc, lgbtqia+ so they're considered traitors therefore free game.
@@secondarygroup6715 Hello there. So I'm actually a certified member of the Joke Police™. I was granted certification by the Woke Mob™ and graduated from Liberal Highschool™with Honors (took AP Pronouns). Many have called me the Authority on All Things Funny and Unfunny, but truly, I am just some person (often, without a penis). What I'm trying to say is that I think I can speak for this person when informing on what is Funny or not. So as a Joke Policeperson (without a penis), here are some examples of humor/jokes that people find funny but not offensive (in racist or sexist way): - Jokes that make fun of someone in a creative way are funny. For example, pointing out that someone's sideburn looks like the state of Texas. - Bathroom humor (jokes about most bodily fluids, genitals, peepee, poopoo, piss). Some may find this disgusting, but not truly offensive. I hope I don't have to give examples of this. - Sarcasm. So this is when you respond to someone with a statement by which you mean the opposite and it is usually conveyed with a deadpan (serious, /srs) delivery. For example, if your friend asked you "do you actually want to hang out with me?" after a conversation in which you have desperately expressed that you want to hang out with them and you respond, deadpan "No so I actually want you to end your life with a gun," if your friend gets that you are being sarcastic, they might laugh! Even though the statement you responded with is actually considerably dark, because there is an understood intention of sarcasm, they know you mean the opposite, and no one should be heavily offended. - Dark (not racist or sexist) humor. Jokes on topics seen as too vulnerable to make a joke about, and do not rely on stereotype. For example, jokes about mental health/ending life kinda jokes, like the previous example. - Absurd humor. Also involves a level of deadpan delivery. Jokes hinge on coming up with an absurd idea or taking an idea to its absurd extremes. The example I gave for sarcasm works for this as well, as the idea that you want your dear friend who you expressed wanting to hang out with more to end their life is absurd, because it is understood you want nothing but the opposite. It's not just saying something that would never happen but saying something that would never happen in a million years. The more absurd it is and the better the delivery, the funnier it is. An amazing example of something with a very consistent, very prominent absurd sense of humor is the show Psych. I would strongly recommend watching. - Metahumor. Jokes about jokes, self-aware humor. Works in situations that have a fourth wall to break. For example, if you were to read a really stupid, unfunny comment and decide to respond to that comment by pretending to be someone you are not, and while responding, make a joke about how one would read a really stupid, unfunny comment and decide to respond to that comment by pretending to be someone they are not, this would be an example of metahumor. - Gallows humor. Jokes that are self-deprecating and typically referring to some sort of stereotype, ultimately making fun of a bad situation. For example, a woman jokingly saying she is not a real fan of a thing she is a real fan of because she is a woman and women can never be real fans of stuff that men like because obviously, they intrinsically are dumb and just don't get it like The Boys™ do. This is a combination of absurd, dark, and deadpan humor. The joke does not reinforce stereotypes, as a racist or sexist "joke" would, rather, using sarcasm, it implicitly challenges stereotypes. - Slapstick. Physical comedy. For example, slipping on a banana peel and saying "woah, woAH, wAHHHHHH". This is certainly not an exhaustive list of all forms of humor/jokes that people generally find acceptable and not offensive. There may even be some Woke Mobbers™ who disagree with me, which is fair. Their opinion above all. Shoutout to a random Tweet from Kpop stan Twitter for the sideburn example, the podcast The Yard (episode that came out today was great, boys) for the Sarcastic, Dark, and Absurd example, myself for the Metahumor example, cartoons for the slapstick example, and real life experience for the Gallows humor example. If you read all of this and would like to me expand on any of my points, I am actually unemployed enough to be open to replying. Being a part of the Joke Police™ is sort of like a Schroedinger's job. I am always working and also always not. This has been the Joke Police™, graduate of Liberal Highschool™ with honors, certified by the Woke Mob™, penisless. Thank you for reading; I hope you have a light to a decent 7 kind of day.
@@mmwilliams5654 yeah lots of people do make jokes about them selves and others still funny either way gets lots of laughs. Kinda why most of them are famous and rich. Cause it gets lots of laughs
The thing about Shane calling out the comedians for laughing at people with Down syndrome is that Shane's brother has down syndrome. He has made jokes *about* down syndrome at his own comedy shows not *at* down syndrome. He never does it in a way that just mocks people. These "comedians" calling him "woke" or "triggered" because he actually knows how to frame a joke that doesn't punch down at people, while all they can do is point and laugh in hopes people will eventually join. (Edit) correction: his uncle has down syndrome, not his brother. Also, while Shane is not painfully "anti-woke" like those other so-called comedians, I'm aware he's not pc either and has made a fair share of targeted jokes. Hopefully, if he can see the immaturity of his colleagues' jabs, he'll learn to be better.
yess he's rightfully calling them out because he actually can joke about it without making people with down syndrome the joke. the rest of the guys just watch videos of ppl with it and go haha look they're different! such a bully mentality, how can you even call yourself a comedian at that point
I was sort of wondering if he had a personal connection to Down Syndrome. Even in the clips, you could see how incredibly uncomfortable he was right away.
i can imagine the pain of seeing a bunch of men laughing at people that have the same condition as your brother. like they could’ve pulled up a video of his own brother and start laughing and not even know because they dehumanized this group of people so much. and they STILL don’t understand how that is unfunny.
It wasn't just the part about the black girlfriend effect. At the end of the video he asked them who are their top five most beautiful women in the world for them. James said Meg. And Adrew was like "Megan Thee Stallion?!" He looked very disgusted and expresses that this choice was wrong. James and Fuhad were like "she is beautiful and she likes anime". But Andrew kept looking at every guy present and was like no. Then James couldn't stand his ground, fumbled and then said "she's not the most beautiful, she's just the first person that came to mind" Pathetic🤦🏾♀️
Bruhhhh, we can’t even acknowledge facts now?? Megan in BOA was giving all the looks and blew me away. If someone told me nah that’s not valid, they’re gonna be laughed out the room.
That clip was crazy to watch. People with internal biases against black women always react that way when someone compliments a black woman or calls her beautiful, etc. Everyone's allowed to have preferences until the preference happens to be a black woman, even if it's literally Megan Thee Stallion. When someone calls a black woman beautiful, people like Andrew start foaming at the mouth or writing paragraphs in the comments about how she's "not all that" or "you can't be serious" until the other person takes their statement back, like what happened in the podcast. They fundamentally can't sit with the idea of someone being attracted to a black woman but if you call them out on it you're wrong 😑
wild as fuck to say megan thee stallion isn't fucking drop dead gorgeous like bitch what the fuck?? like im actually lost for words, is he like, THAT racist? actually i need andrew to say the n word or do a minstrel show on a podcast or during a comedy set so he can have his internet fall from grace and his career can end and i can attempt bleach the knowledge he existed from my mind
Omg yes! I watched the whole thing and this part was so weird!! I wish D’Angelo spoke about this. I have watched Andrew for awhile and I think I became immune to his racism, but this let really made me go ‘huh why not Megan tho?’
It's not even only about racism, in truth. If you look at the core of it all, these "comedians" they just want to be allowed to be... well total dicks. And to be really appreciated/validated for it It can't really work though. So they use the veil of comedy/dark humour/offensive comedy as a shield. But then cancel culture (sort of) became a thing and it scared the shit out of these guys because they realized that "shield" wasn't gonna be enough. So this type of "comedians" started describing comedy as that deep philosophical thing that is actually that last bastion of hope for humanity and the last remnants of true freedom of speech. It's always them describing comedy like that. 100% of the time. But come on. The guy just wants to be an asshole, laugh about how big of an asshole he is and be validated/rewarded for it or at the very least being totally exempt from any criticism for it. The other guy said it well "it's not even funny, it's just mean"
Sis, don’t even bother wasting headspace on thinking too much about it. We sometimes have to be our own biggest supporters and protectors. Many dudes think way - they just don’t say it out loud. It is offensive though because even with the positives, they make it negative.
Remember Ressa Tessa's Who tf did i married? Charlamagne's take was to say she has "big back behavior". He s one of the reasons Andrew Shultz feels entitled to say these things, because charlamagne himself says things like this and is constantly bashing bw.
bitch tf does "big back behaviour" even mean like??? honestly anyone who willingly supports andrew is probably just as bad as him, my expectations are lower than the ninth ring of hell
But if I tell an inoffensive joke and you don't laugh, I'm not funny and I need to work on my material and delivery. If I tell an offensive joke and you don't laugh, you're thin-skinned and I don't have to put in any additional effort at all.
There was a period where he kept coming up on my TH-cam shorts and every. single. joke. was about race. I honestly couldn’t believe how many different ways he found to be racist.
The key to actually being funny is intelligence. Intelligent people do not need to use the degradation of others in order to be funny, because they’re smart enough to come up with funny things that aren’t at the expense of other people. It’s literally just an intelligence thing. If you call yourself a comedian but all your comedy is at the expense at a group of people, you’re literally not a comedian. You’re just an unintelligent ahhhole who knows how to make other unintelligent ahhholes laugh. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m a Black woman and I’m just gonna say that the next part of that conversation went exactly the way I thought it would go. Next questions from Andrew were “do you date black women” “do you date white women” and “which do you prefer” He’s just as tired and lame as his “jokes” I have nothing to say about those two guys - they did exactly what I would expect them to do.
I love how they try to pit us all against each other. Black women white women Asian women Hispanic women whatever. We are all in the same boat I will agree that black women tend to take the hardest hit with this misogyny bullshit... This sexist shit* is trying to segregate us. Is women need to stick together

The real jokes are the jokers. 🫶🏻 Y'all are far too good for these asshats and I hope y'all keep shining, like the brilliant diamonds you are. ✨❤️✨
The clip where Shane is expressing that he didn’t find the joke funny and all the other guys putting him down for it is like, the perfect example of everything wrong with guy friend groups. Guys always go on about how they feel they can’t be vulnerable but then when someone TRIES they all gang up to put the dude down.
Yup. This is why I stopped hanging out with the majority of dude friends years ago. They're nowhere near as bad as these morons, but I'm just not about this kind of shit. Never had an issue with my women friends, so no one got dropped. 🤷

I’m an autistic dark skinned black woman who doesn’t know how to mask, and is direct and also a literal communicator (no hidden meaning, no passive aggressiveness, don’t speak in code). I’ve been read as the “angry black woman” all of my life. People “interpret” what I say and it’s something hostile. Meanwhile, I’m over there feeling completely neutral, flat affect, and am in no way angry. 😒 Oh, and side note. One of my favorite shows is It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. And that’s because they make fun of the bigot and not the victim of the bigotry.
White males never make fun of white males. I pointed this out to an ex . "You have plently of things to make fun of about yourself" i told him. He wasn't laughing
Straight up, my birth dad only ever made fun of minorities, and I hated it because my Mum raised me better than that. He used to talk shit about coworkers, our Portuguese neighbour, but never, never his white friends or acquaintances. Now I see my younger brother doing the same shit, and it makes me so angry. He's one of those "I find it funny so everyone should" kind of guys. He never makes fun of white dudes, but he sure talks shit about women of every race and description. So it's not all guys, but some of them...are just gross about their blatant racism. -_-
Reminds me of the George Carlin interview "Comedy has traditionally picked on people in power, people who abuse their power,” he says. “Women and gays and immigrants, to my way of thinking, are underdogs.” I think [Clay’s] core audience is young white males who are threatened by these groups,” he continues. “I think a lot of these guys aren’t sure of their manhood, I think that’s often a problem when you’re going through adolescence... and the women who assert themselves and that are competent are a threat to these men, and so are immigrants in terms of jobs.” “I think that’s what is at the core of that experience that takes place in those arenas. A sharing of anger and rage at these targets.”
Then he told black people to stop calling themselves African American while competing with Richard Pryor in a rap battle(?). No rap battle, but Carlin constantly competed with Pryor ad nauseum.
@@andreabrown4541 tbf that naming convention is absolutely unique to Americans. I'm not going to argue it's currently a harmful term in any way, but it was devised as a way to keep black people in their own seperate category, a modifier to say "these are technically Americans, but not the same thing as us, they're really Africans we forced here." It's kind of weird to refer to a race of people by the government that pertains to their citizenship, "African American" is rooted in a history of slavery, jim crow, and segregation that lasted much, much longer than other nations that took part in the transatlantic slave trade (it's insane how much "the land of the free" opposed freedom when the nations who started that slavery had moved on from it legally and culturally.) But then again I have no idea how Carlin said this nor how he meant it, his tone or his demeanor. Maybe he was just a hypocrite.

I remember Keegan Michael Key made a joke about how being married to a black woman is the scariest thing you can do, but in his personal relationships, he has married two white woman and was raised by a white mom. It’s not uncommon for black men to laugh at and not see the offense in making fun of black women when so often and for so long they have romanticized relationships with women of other cultures using black women as the scapegoat for why. Thank you D’Angelo for pointing out that they really were making fun of us rather staying on topic and making a joke about “the black girlfriend/wife effect” (which is also silly) which, apparently, he hadn’t even heard of until these two guests pointed it out
The vast majority of blk men in REAL LIFE prefer blk women and would look at you crazy if you talked bad about them. You women are just as ridiculous as who you speak of for actually believing this internet/television world even remotely reflects reality.

Like, I was saying the other day, if someone is constantly in your face going, “why are you mad? You’re so mad, why? Why are you mad tho?” And you’re like, I’m not mad. I’m glad someone brought that up - Alex (the black guy) kept laughing too. Irony is that he said - when F&F came on their podcast after their controversies with black women that he didn’t understand why people wouldn’t like their own women and that - if I remember correctly - that he prefers Indian women, too. Almost as if defending your community isn’t a bad idea. He also got upset at Shultz btw - clip on YT - about when he brought up the British Empire and what they did to India. I mean, the irony, including stereotyping Muslim men in Europe as rapists as a Indian man, is not lost on me one bit
I've never seen or heard of this guy before, but being white and having that haircut and stache? The only way to signal harder that you're a racist pos is by tattooing a swastika on your forehead.

maybe in random or unexpected situations sure, but they should’ve known a little about him before they go on there. he’s an “edgy comedian” and racism is to be expected. that’s why you don’t go on these shitty people’s podcasts in the first place. if you do, be prepared???

@@Stijn5there was a questioned posed (which I believe started on TikTok) where women were asked if they’d rather be stuck in the woods with a random man or a bear. And every single woman chose the bear bc at least the bear might leave them alone or at least the worst it’ll do is kill/eat them. Even when the question was posed to fathers, asking who they’d rather their daughters be stuck in that situation they were choosing the bear too. Men tried to create their own version where they were saying stuck in the desert with a woman or a dog or something like that and they choose the animal because their reasoning was that women are annoying, which is totally missing the point originally being made.

Its hard for me to believe boys like this respect women on a fundamental level & people forget or get desensitized to how dangerous & not normal it is. It is a slap in the face to use the freeze excuse on women who aren’t allowed to use it as a form of not consenting.
They don't and I don't even think they understand that they don't respect us. @@spookyariel1 men believing they aren’t sexist & basing it off of “because I know” is their biggest downfall. Im not saying men can’t say they arent sexist but they normally don’t have to tell anyone or talk about. These same dudes think its really hard but too many men spend everyday all day not being directly & blatantly sexist. This all applies to racism as well, yes we all are a part of systemic racism but also its very very easy to be white & not say slurs. I have successfully done it for 25 yrs, there has never been i time I “almost” “accidentally” say it & have black ppl tell me its okay to say it.
I’m sooooo fucking tired of this shit. It’s unoriginal and lazy. I’ve been physically threatened by men in public and NO ONE stepped in to help me. I had to leave my last job because a few people kept calling me hostile and aggressive even though someone once called me the nicest person who’s worked there. A lot of the customers loved me and would specifically come on my shifts. I would bring my best whenever I could, because even though the job was bullshit, I had a duty to give people what they paid for. One of my coworkers had her grown son call and threaten me at work over a misunderstanding she refused to talk to me about. Another coworker lied and said I ASSAULTED HER. I NEVER put my hands on that girl.
It really sucks being a black women who is introverted, stays in her room and reads and going on the internet to see hate about you for no reason. It really hurts. Edit: wow these comments are so sweet. Thank you so much for the kind words. Theres a lot of hope in the world after all 💗
Remember those are not the kind of people you want in your life. Your life will be way better if people like those idiots are away from you. I am not from America but I don't think they are even that common. Most people are not as low as human beings as they are
Change how you see it. They can't help but have us on their minds. You ignore what you're indifferent too and the whole wide world has proven we are important by giving us attention. Whether negative or positive, energy is still power. Also reject the saying of black women being the most disrespected woman on earth. Change your mind about that phrase. This is just coming to me now but after that was said it's like the whole world decided to agree. I'm killing it now in my life and do not hold that belief as my truth. Because I know it hasn't been that way for me. And even as I'm saying this do what's right for you. Just know you have the power to see things differently.
Black girls are dope!! I'm an Asian male and I know what it's like to feel categorized as racially inferior. It took a while to get rid of the internalized hate. Once I moved past that, then I came to the conclusion that I can't control the opinions of those who don't know me/refuse to know me. That's been a truth since the dawn of time though! People be judging, and they probably will forever into the future. But I know what I can do, and that's play my part to just be myself authentically and change the opinions of those I meet. At the end of the day, race, gender, and age are meaningless. You have the power to change how people think. And most importantly, never forget that all the loud toxic opinions you see online are ALWAYS in the minority. The number of people on the planet just chilling and minding their own business is WAY larger than most people perceive. Even if a million people shared a shitty opinion, there are 1,000 millions in a billion. That's a LOT of people. Don't let the online numbers confuse you, the reality of the world is much different than how we perceive it.
Black women… the racism & hate feels louder than the love we receive, but please don’t let that get you down. We are such beautiful, ethereal, magnetizing, influential, & powerful women. People are so threatened by Black women receiving any ounce of credit because it challenges the power structures at play. Push through Black women & keep choosing to love yourself even when it seems like the world hates us. It’s not all hate… There’s beauty, love, & acceptance out there for us. I challenge you to try your best to focus on that ❤
Not sure if my opinion is even warranted to weigh in on it, but, as a white guy from the deep south I am personally, in awe at the level of patience you are forced to learn. If i had to deal with an iota of the just passive shit I see get thrown your way i'd have done something stupid and public long ago. I am sure no one needs, or probably even wants, any validation from me but as someone who perfectly represents the main stereotypes of the worst perpetrators of these issues, I hope it can help anyone to hear we are not all like that. Good luck to you all, and I hope some small part of the damage done by those like me can be undone by us as well. You're all stronger than i'll ever be.
We have an epidemic of ppl that aren't funny calling themselves "comedians", and ppl that can't rap calling themselves "rappers". The internet brain rot has lowered the bar for what is considered talent. Thanks internet?
It's so annoying when people say shit like "He can't possibly be racist! His step-friends half cousin twice removed knows a black guy!". I feel like people dont use that type of excuse in regards to other forms of bigotry. If you can understand that many dudes are sexist despite having a mother, wife, and/or daughter, then why can't you understand that someone can still be racist despite having a loved one of a different race? Someone saying that you're racist doesnt mean that they're saying you're a KKK member. It often means that you likely hold opinions that may not be obviously rooted in racism. Prejudice can be sneaky, and many racists arent intentionally racist.
THIS!! its as if people think youre attacking them but rlly you just want it to be known that theyre perpetuating racist stereotypes and that they should probably revaluate their joke choices.
I would say the other avenue of bigotry or ignorance I see this in, is with disabled people. I'm autistic so I definitely notice that there are many people who are of the opinion that because someone has a family member or friends who's autistic, they are incapable of holding ableist and ignorant beliefs or prejudice. I would go as far to say that some people's beliefs can get MORE ableist because of their proximity. For example those moms who essentially say you can't be autistic because you're not exactly like their kid who usually, is someone who requires a very significant amount of support and often also has intellectual disability on top of their autism. It's ridiculous any time this argument is applied to anything, being close to someone can give you more empathy for their experience as a marginalized person, but that's really not guaranteed.
@@AliceBunny05 My bad, I meant to say "I don't see people use this excuse as much with other forms of bigotry", but my dumb caveman brain likes to omit words if I'm typing fast😅 I'm autistic as well and have a few other physical disabilities, so I definitely hear when you're saying. I got a lot of that bullshit in my family, and it's crazy what some of their views on disabilities are😬 I'm sorry that you've been on the receiving end of this bullshit, people fucking suck!!
@@emilygateau3968 Right??? I get why people get a little defensive immediately, but we single one of us have to go through our entire lives unlearning unconscious prejudice that has been ingrained into us since birth. Another thing about Shane is that he had multiple family members with Downs, including his brother. He will joke use it in his comedy, not in this gross way that Andrew is doing it:/

I'm so disappointed in those guys. Sometimes, their podcast comes up on my fyp, and they get a genuine laugh out of me. That woman is right, they didnt centre women in the conversation, just tried to explain their acations.
The two guys who apologized make jokes about black women and women in general all the time, its the basis of the content they make. It's so tiring, I don't want to be seen as angry if I'm not quite and smiling all the time. These men are just continuing to further this awful rhetoric about us, I wonder if the mothers are sad.
The anti-woke idiots always say no topic should be off limits for comedy and then not tell any actual jokes. Shane Gillis speaking up is the bare minimum. It wouldn't be that hard to make an actual joke referencing the weightlifter with Downs Syndrome. Extra chromosome, extra gains, boom joke made without being ableist. During COVID I worked at a lab doing testing. I was literally disassociating while at work because our system was not designed to handle an 800% increase in sample volume and I was in charge of answering the lab phone because we didn't have a call center. Being asked multiple times for results because it was needed for death certificates was brutal. My coworkers and I made jokes about COVID to cope. We weren't saying things like "kung flu" though. It was more like "if I don't get a day off I'm going to start licking doorknobs" and "thoughts and prayers to all those people suffering being stuck at home". Hell now I make jokes about how broken my brain is. It turns out having your brain flooded with stress for an extended period of time is in fact not good. At least I wasn't bored.
I can’t express how happy I am that D’Angelo is talking about Andrew Schulz. This guy has always been openly racist and no one ever checks him. Let’s not normalize making dehumanizing comments about black women. like EVER.
I think the “joke” about Black women was testing the temperature. At some point during that podcast Andrew started asking questions about Nigerians and then a certain sect of Islam was mentioned (Ismailis , I think) ultimately calling them scammers and then the all that kekeing calmed down. Hmph 😑
Fuhad didn't just laugh, he actually said "that's hilarious". James has always been the more problematic one from the start of their podcast journey. The fact that they deleted episodes 1-100 on their channel where they frequently spoke down about black women says a lot. This was when they had less of a filter and no proper management. They deserve every bit of the ridicule they got when Andrew reacted to their BS apology
The Shane Gillis clip is absolutely wild. All he said was “let’s not use other people as props in comedy” and he got shut down by the clowns. Props to Shane. Eff this Andrew guy
'Dark humor/comedy' is so often misused just for the sake of getting a free pass to be racist and in general, mean, and especially to appeal to conservatives (look at him! He's speaking what we all think, but no, it's just humor, not serious) What Andrew is doing is basically that - he takes the most primitive way of which you can make fun of people, doesn't build any interesting plot twist into anything but points out people's traits, and laughs at them. That's it. Since when is someone a comedian when they just laugh at people? The bar is so low for comedy, especially dark comedy, cause of people like Andrew.

When you bring in black guests so you can use black stereotypes and have an endorsement.
That only works if the black people (usually black men) endorse you and cackle at your bigotry.
Sadly knowing that because they apparently (according to 5 minutes Reddit reading; had never heard of them before) have a reputation for being against black woman, you can get away with it if you direct it at black women and not black men.

Black MEN specifically
@squibbelsmcjohnson Charlemagne cosigns too many people that shouldn't be admired or replicated.
"Angry black person" is the most insidiously well-crafted stereotype I've ever heard of. Criticize it, even question it, and you'll be dismissed by people who already believe it and see your legitimate concerns as just you being "angry". It's breathtakingly evil.
actually sinister
its such a dangerous stereotype too.. because its so prevelent, it worms its ways into poc brains, aswell as whites, and from there it makes anyone who has a normal argument with a black person so much more standoffish..! so much more ready to use violence as a "defense"
Yup, it is even something that can hinder you when it comes to getting proper medical treatments.

Shane Gillis has an uncle with Downs Syndrome which is why he took it personally. He was classy enough not to drag him into the reason why he didn’t find it funny, he just stood up to Schulz.
And he could have easily smoked him like he was diplomatic af💀
his brother also has down syndrome. good point that he wasn't like "my brother has down syndrome its not funy" but instead was straight up "this is just not funny"

So as a Joke Policeperson (without a penis), here are some examples of humor/jokes that people find funny but not offensive (in racist or sexist way):
- Jokes that make fun of someone in a creative way are funny.

It's not his brother, it's his uncle but yeah.

Then James couldn't stand his ground, fumbled and then said "she's not the most beautiful, she's just the first person that came to mind"
Pathetic🤦🏾♀️
Anyone denying that Megan Thee Stallion is the hottest on earth is just lying.
I don’t understand why people use “it’s a joke” as an excuse to be racist. Blackface was seen as comedy but that didn’t make it any less offensive..
It's not even only about racism, in truth. If you look at the core of it all, these "comedians" they just want to be allowed to be... well total dicks. And to be really appreciated/validated for it
It can't really work though.
Because it's not a joke.
Simple as that.
If it was, you wouldn't have to convince anyone.
I hate how some people can’t seem to fathom that you can be funny without being racist/homophobic etc
But if I tell an inoffensive joke and you don't laugh, I'm not funny and I need to work on my material and delivery. If I tell an offensive joke and you don't laugh, you're thin-skinned and I don't have to put in any additional effort at all.
@@TCMcBiscuitsagh you hit the nail on the head.

Next questions from Andrew were “do you date black women” “do you date white women” and “which do you prefer”

White males never make fun of white males. I pointed this out to an ex . "You have plently of things to make fun of about yourself" i told him. He wasn't laughing
Jokes about white people are easy and funny. Theyre also really, really harmless to us. White people who cant take a white joke annoy me ngl
Conan O'Brien made a very successful career out of this idea.
yeah that's not true
Straight up, my birth dad only ever made fun of minorities, and I hated it because my Mum raised me better than that. He used to talk shit about coworkers, our Portuguese neighbour, but never, never his white friends or acquaintances. Now I see my younger brother doing the same shit, and it makes me so angry. Reminds me of the George Carlin interview
"Comedy has traditionally picked on people in power, people who abuse their power,” he says. “Women and gays and immigrants, to my way of thinking, are underdogs.”
I think [Clay’s] core audience is young white males who are threatened by these groups,” he continues. “I think a lot of these guys aren’t sure of their manhood, I think that’s often a problem when you’re going through adolescence... and the women who assert themselves and that are competent are a threat to these men, and so are immigrants in terms of jobs.”
“I think that’s what is at the core of that experience that takes place in those arenas.
I'm not going to argue it's currently a harmful term in any way, but it was devised as a way to keep black people in their own seperate category, a modifier to say "these are technically Americans, but not the same thing as us, they're really Africans we forced here." It's kind of weird to refer to a race of people by the government that pertains to their citizenship, "African American" is rooted in a history of slavery, jim crow, and segregation that lasted much, much longer than other nations that took part in the transatlantic slave trade (it's insane how much "the land of the free" opposed freedom when the nations who started that slavery had moved on from it legally and culturally.)
But then again I have no idea how Carlin said this nor how he meant it, his tone or his demeanor. Maybe he was just a hypocrite.
@@billbill6094 African American was coined to replace Negro or just black, white americans were Anglo Saxons ie the WASPs or Irish-American, Italian-American, German-American.

Like, I was saying the other day, if someone is constantly in your face going, “why are you mad? You’re so mad, why? Why are you mad tho?” And you’re like, I’m not mad. Eventually being told you’re mad is going to make you MAD. They create their own self fulfilling prophecy, and black women bear the burden.

You know what they say; every time five men gather around a microphone to laugh at misogynistic 'jokes', another woman chooses the bear.
What is the bear?
@@Stijn5there was a questioned posed (which I believe started on TikTok) where women were asked if they’d rather be stuck in the woods with a random man or a bear. And every single woman chose the bear bc at least the bear might leave them alone or at least the worst it’ll do is kill/eat them. Even when the question was posed to fathers, asking who they’d rather their daughters be stuck in that situation they were choosing the bear too.
Men tried to create their own version where they were saying stuck in the desert with a woman or a dog or something like that and they choose the animal because their reasoning was that women are annoying, which is totally missing the point originally being made.

facts
They do not respect women, they've shown their toxic behaviour but they laugh it off and ppl think it's "cute"
They don't and I don't even think they understand that they don't respect us. I really don't know how he squares that circle.
“Born in ‘83 Gen Z wannabe”, will live rent free in my head forever 😂
Who on earth would want to be Gen Z? I'm a millennial and I always wanted to be Gen X or even a boomer as they had better music and movies.
It really sucks being a black women who is introverted, stays in her room and reads and going on the internet to see hate about you for no reason. It really hurts.
Edit: wow these comments are so sweet. Thank you so much for the kind words. Theres a lot of hope in the world after all 💗
No fr
What’s the difference between BLK men an BLK women… aren’t we all dealing with the same bs
I challenge you to try your best to focus on that ❤
💜

He doesn’t tell jokes. He just says uncomfortably racist shit and banks on people laughing out of discomfort.
I got a lot of that bullshit in my family, and it's crazy what some of their views on disabilities are😬
I'm sorry that you've been on the receiving end of this bullshit, people fucking suck!!
@@emilygateau3968 Right??? I get why people get a little defensive immediately, but we single one of us have to go through our entire lives unlearning unconscious prejudice that has been ingrained into us since birth. I feel like if a friend feels comfortable enough to point out how something you've said is ignorant, that likely means that they feel that you are a great person and likely just have a blindspot you weren't aware of.
Another thing about Shane is that he had multiple family members with Downs, including his brother. He will joke use it in his comedy, not in this gross way that Andrew is doing it:/
That makes what they did even more dark sided :( I hate when people throw stones and hide their hands. The people complaining about PC culture and others being too triggered can never handled being called out
props to d'angelo for doing a vid on this. james and fuhad are being called out on socials as they should but i def wanted to see someone directly address andrew. comedians like him hide their isms behind jokes because they quite literally have nothing else to offer
I'm so disappointed in those guys. Sometimes, their podcast comes up on my fyp, and they get a genuine laugh out of me. That woman is right, they didnt centre women in the conversation, just tried to explain their acations.
the one time i laughed at a steven crowder tweet back in 2019 actually haunts me 😭
The two guys who apologized make jokes about black women and women in general all the time, its the basis of the content they make. It's so tiring, I don't want to be seen as angry if I'm not quite and smiling all the time. These men are just continuing to further this awful rhetoric about us, I wonder if the mothers are sad.
Duncan's mother is white. I doubt she gives a damn.
At least I wasn't bored.
well said! you can make light of any situation or people or whatever without being harmful and reductive. these guys don't know how to do that.
Growing up I was always told to suppress my anger to beat the Black Woman stereotypes and now I have BPD :))
Dudes making the choice to say nothing is such a huge part of the problem.

Hmph 😑
jews literally believe in saying "bless you" to blacks because they think black people are cursed and ugly, lol no joke
“They’re laughing at black women…”
SPEAK ON IT
Fuhad didn't just laugh, he actually said "that's hilarious".
They deleted 100 vids 😮?
Didn’t know that!

@timfranz53 Probably to show that the stereotype isn't just something straight men feel the need to perpetuate, but it has infiltrated other communities as well.
@@timfranz53It's context of the story because being a gay white man means he would have no frame of reference, and also his boyfriend is another man, shaming women. It's all context of the story, and the fact that you're offended is really weird.

Dark humor is usually aimed at oneself (like joking about things to cope with them) not at minorities who face enough stereotypes and have them reinforced as you bring up these old harmful jokes over and over. People trying to insult black people with the "watermelon" things at this point in life just show me how uncreative they are and I don't even get angry- because wow that's it?
