Had been looking at the Ampete, but your demo totally sold me on this switcher. Thanks mate, you saved me a chunk of change (that went towards the OX :P )
I love the idea of using a looper to test and see which amp the player prefers for that phrase. Do you know if this is dual-voltage and able to be used in America AND Germany?
From the website I've seen that there is a possibility to switch the power supply to 115V. However, for this the device has to be opened - I would recommened to contact the support to get more detailed information.
Hello, I would like to know if, like the KHE, this device has protection in case you only have a single cabinet. That is, if in A I have a cabinet and in B I have nothing, does the device disable the option? as a protection? or it just doesn't block anything and I absolutely have to connect something. (cabinet, loadbox etc) On the other hand, I would like to know that this device has some form of internal protection in case I turn on the amplifier first and then the ampSwitch, (I ask this question given that in the case there is a power cut in the device's care and the amplifier is still on in operation) It would be great to know if this has any protection against an issue like this. I would like to connect: - Peavey 5150 - (212 version 60w) - Mesa dual rect. 100w table - Orange tiny terror 15 w or marshall DSL 15w - Engl Fireball 100w Apparently only Thomann has this device available. I didn't find answers anywhere else. Thank you for your time, I hope you can help me with these questions. greetings.
In case you're using only one cabinet you should avoid to switch to B or connect a load box to B. AFAIK there's no protection for the selected amp if there's no load connected - however, all other amps are protected. In the manual it's recommended to turn on the amp switcher first. If you turn on your amps in standby mode it's also save to turn on the switcher as last device.
I am right in thinking that you have to run your amp heads into load boxes before putting them into this unit. I.e. - the unit itself is not a loadbox?
Hey. Great demo of a great product it seems. Can I ask if you plugged the Fryette as a “speaker” can you then still connect speakers to Fryette outputs? And would the Fryette’s fx loop still work? I guess this should be safe/possible? Thx -again!
Hello ! Thank you for great vid ! U need 2 steps of speaker cable ? One from the amp out till the Manufactur and after the Manufactur till the Cab, right ? So about 8 speaker cable in total ?
You have to connect the OX as cab - so all heads can be played through the OX. However, currently I'm using a KHE amp switcher because it supports remote switching by MIDI. KHE also offers a method to connect a single attenuator for all heads and all cabs.
@@RockGuitarVibes one other question, I seen on the back of the switcher it says 115v/230v (switch inside), so I’m assuming it’s selectable? I would need the 115v for USA power.
Just ordered one of these. Do you need a mixture of instrument cables to connect it to the amp inputs and speaker cables to connect from amp outputs to device?
see my comment below. mine doesnt work with a tiny 20w Friedman Runt. The seller is NOT replying to my emails etc. I dont recomment this. Get a KDE instead.
Hey, is there a limit as of wattage for the power amps? I run tubeamps in lunchbox format with 15 watts, a mesa with 100 watts as well as an Überschall with 120. Does this device handle this? Would love to know if the manual says something about this. Cheers from Rheinland-Pfalz
I just got the answer from the manufacturer - it can handle up to 200 Watt without any issues. Theoretically it can handle up 500 Watt per channel. Cheers.
@@ericbarlier1593 Generally I can't see any reason why it should not work with your amp. All of mine worked fine - however, possibly there's an issue with that device. If it does not work as expected I would send it back to your dealer and ask for a replacement.
@@RockGuitarVibes Thanks for the reply. I agree, I cant see why its not working. I cant really send it back as they are NOT replying to my emails.. I need a procedure to follow. Im glad yours worked, its a great tool!
Finally a piece of gear that is affordable for that function!

In my setup the load boxes sit in front of the cabs - so I'm also able to switch between the line outs of different load boxes for recordings.

Yeah, the Fryette is connected as speaker and speakers are connected to the Fryette - but you don’t have to connect speakers. It’s a great loadbox!

well done, thanx

Ok cool gotcha! Yea I would like to get the KHE 4x2 but it shows them out of stock on their website. Thanks for the info!

@@ericbarlier1593 The KDE switcher is great too and supports MIDI - of course for more money.

@@RockGuitarVibes Not entirely true. It cannot handle a friedman Runt 20.
