This is a fantastic video! I am 68 and have aquired a lifetime of bad habits, but I now have a passion and a motivation to learn how do do the strokes correctly and effectively. This video answered all my questions, I had no idea how much I didn't know! Well done!
Thank you for this excellent overview. I’m an adult beginner with fear of the deep end, I now have greater understanding of the foundations on which to build.
I'm glad the tutorials have helped you learn how to be more competent in the water! I will be answering people's specific questions from the comments section in later videos, so if there is anything you want clarification on, ask away!
Yes, we're back! We are hoping to do weekly Q&A videos for our viewers if there's enough interest in the content. We're looking forward to giving you more!
Thank you so much for such s comprehensive introduction to swimming fundamentals. I loved it. I also liked your saying OK? Every niw and then . It gave me an interactive feeling like my instructor is talking directly to me. You explained everything so well. I also liked your cute finger legs moving 😅
I can finally float after 3 half-hour lessons with a professional swimmer who is 1 yr my jr🧚♀️ will.be learning hw to swim after this, FEAR conquered🌺 love ur videos!
Oh great info and tone! Thanks for sharing 😊 question about doggy paddles: isn't head and face supposed to be out of water? I see folks doing glide then paddles with face in water...and I don't know what to do with my feet as I paddle hands..any advice?
Excellent video. Do you have a video where you have demonstrated the kicking part? I am an adult beginner and I am having problems with my kicking, I feel like I am kicking quite forcefully but still not getting that much power..... If you have a video on that please let me know Thanks...
This is super helpful. I don’t know how to swim and am scared to try to learn, but have decided to listen to and watch some videos to help prepare me. I would really like to learn and overcome this fear.
Thank you for this presentation. I have been trying to learn to swim as an adult, and transitioning from back and side stroke to those which require breathing is quite rough. Can you suggest any effective methods or strategies for learning the non breathing components well enough that I can focus on learning to breath properly? Thank you for the great videos!
You have a video sometime back on treading water. Can I use an outward circular motion instead of the inward circular motion for the eggbeater technique? On dry land, I can make my legs go the right way for the eggbeater treading water. BUT as soon as I am in the water, my legs just go the opposite directions. Is this ok? Does it matter?
I'm in my late fifties learning how to swim for the first time. I'm having problems with my kicking. My legs feel straight and I point my toes. I'm lifting the entire leg and still not going anywhere aftter kicking of the wall. I've been pracitiicing for over 8 days and I can't see any improvement. Instead I feel myself going backwards. Do you have any suggestions? Also I have a lumbar and cervical condition which I don't let that stop me. I notice floating in kicking on my back is less stressful. However, I need to learn free style so I can work my entire body along with my core.
Love that breathing tip. Just learning breaststroke and I choked on water. I somehow still hold my breath when my head is out. Also, my head doesn't come out much so 😭. Today was my first breathing lesson and it was very challenging. I can pencil float, do my pull perfectly but the kick is not perfect on occasion. It's more like gliding with 70% hand pull and the rest is the kick, which is frustrating 😢. I hope I get there
I can't seem to exhale all my air in the water fast enough to then come up to take a breath. This causes me to have air "reserve" when I come up to take a breath - a very short one. Does any of this make sense?
Of course, and this is a common thing that many people face. Exhaling doesn't work while swimming in the same manner as when you're in everyday life. Directly before you're taking your breath (in which ever stroke that you're swimming), the exhalation needs to be more-or-less "forced" through use of the abdominal muscles. You need to force your breaths in and out (not as harsh as it sounds), rather than a relaxed inhalation and exhalation. Hope this helps! I will explain more in a future video if you need!
I want you to know you are beautiful! You are beautiful just the way you look now! You are important! You have meaning and worth! I love you so much! Jesus loves you too! You do not need any adjustments to your body to look beautiful! Beauty is on the inside of the Heart! You are beautiful!
You are back! This is a real treat. This video is very clear and informative. Looking forward for more.
Your videos are the best videos I have watched on swimming. Clear, succinct and insightful. Thank you.

Fascinating! Excellent information that builds on itself making it easier for me to remember the fundamentals in the water. Thank you!
Thank you, I've watched every single video on this channel.
Welcome back! Your videos have helped me a lot. Mostly just self teaching through your videos (and the occasional class at the why).

Very informative video! When it comes to breathing, do you recommend exhaling through the nose or mouth?
Nice teaching

So why everytime when I do my kicks correct I still sink.
I will create a new video and answer this question soon! Thank you for watching!! :)
Bianca Davis - how’s the position of your head when you are kicking? That might be a factor.
It would be good if you utilized that whiteboard behind you by drawing out diagrams while you explain to help those of us who are visual learners.

SwimLifePro - you’re awesome! I like the way you explain things. It makes sense. Now I have to put it to practice! Thanks for the response! 🙏
@@swimlifepro8737 do you mean like when you are doing yoga, you exhale while pulling your belly in, and inhale blowing it out?
thanks。
