Square said they watched max’s video on his reaction to the initial trailer of FFVIIR and used it as motivation to be the best they can be during production. With this in mind, I feel as if they’ve basically been taking small notes from his predictions, as he’s been constantly pretty spot on
Wait is this really a fact? That’s really exciting, I always feel like max is very thorough and fair with his thoughts on things and to see that they payed attention to someone who is careful with their words like him is reassuring. Was this said on a tweet or an interview?
@@KingExionHD yes, it is true. when part 1 was about to come out, max was invited to play a demo in a private squenix event alongside some other media/content creators and the producers told him directly how much of an impact his reaction had on the team, it gave them motivation because people REALLY love FF7 and they felt overjoyed to see so much hype for the announcement.
They used his video, amongst other reaction videos as motivation to keep pressing on. THATS IT. Max doesn't affect Square Enix's ideas or plans for the game like you're letting on. His "predictions" are not unique as ANYONE who's played the original already expects aswell. Everyone and their mom knew it would be 3 parts.

They did indeed use Max and other fans reaction videos for the first Remake trailer as a source of motivation.
But a multi billion dollar company wont let one of their most important products ride on the mercy of a single youtuber lol thats not how this works.
Max is just smart and makes good predictions from decades of experience with the industry. He understands how the industry works. But Square wont cater towards one single fan and take that risk.
At this point with how many times Max has been spot on with FF7 Remake predictions I’ve either convinced…

The suffering is the best part of a story when you establish brilliant characters
IF they subsequently rise above it. There are some writers out there who don't comprehend this.

That sentiment is sadly starting to change. All it takes is one good work with really good writing featuring the whole "characters staying down" thing and we've got ourselves a new trope
@@alexanerose4820 i dont think so. Walking dead comes to mind almost immediately. After negan the squad were just beaten over and over and over and the show hasnt been the same since.
We want to see them struggle but they must overcome them or set up a building character to do so for them. But there always must be a cycle. If the protagonist stay down and never recover there isnt a plot there.
The more I watch Max’s reactions, the more I want to continue with FFVII. He is the conductor for this hype train and I’m all in for the ride!

Max did call this years ago. With the first part just having Midgar, I expected part 2 to end at Junon; with Jenova being the final boss of part 2. The party aboard the cargoship. The camera panning out into the distance. You see Cista del Sol close, and out in the far distance you see Gokd Saucer. That's how I thought part 2 would end.

Rebirth is such a genius name if you think about it. The future is literally uncertain, we could get a brand new outcome for Cloud and co.

I hope it's based on player choices but I don't expect it.
I can guarantee that when the Final Fantasy VII Remake devs seem to be down and not motivated, they'll continue to come back to watch your original reaction to the first reveal for the remakes but now also include this reaction as well!

You guys are blowing this out of proportion. The Devs looked at MANY videos of people reacting to the FF7R announcement, not just Max's.

@@Evilriku13 Nomura was the Story Director of the OG FF7 alongside Sakaguchi. He is the only reason why Aerith even died in the OG it was his idea Kitase and Nojima was planning on killing all the party except 3.

Interestingly, the Japanese version mentions Zack by name when he is walking with Cloud where Cloud says (voiceover), "We came here together 5 years ago? Zack, where are you?"

I just caught the fact that this is Cloud’s voice but I wasn’t sure. Then the Japanese version plays and it’s just like you said, he says “Zack, where are you”
To me this is a game changer/breaker? Part or the main part of Cloud’s trauma is that it caused him to be someone else. In OG FF7 no one ever mentions Zack’s name. When Cloud is putting himself together with Tifa, it’s Cloud who finally remembers his friend and reveals it to us.
So if he already remembers his name and is questioning Zack’s whereabouts, that changes a few things. And he mentions being somewhere with him 5 years ago??? I wonder if this is when we get to Nibelhiem. Visiting Nibelheim is the OG FF7 was always a bit of a letdown for me being as it served as the biggest plot point in the series. So maybe they expand on this section greatly
@@kalanbell1057 I'm wondering if it's giving us the hint as to where the second part ends and where the OG 'optional' scene should occur. Perhaps Cloud will experience the mansion escape sequence at the end of the second part and will begin to question Zack's existence? That would suggest Mideel etc will all happen in the second part. A similar play out to the OG three discs, with the second part ending near the Northern Crater. I wonder.

It's really awesome to think that Max's hype videos are just one of many out there that helps motivate those who are in charge remaking FFVII. Just you knowing that there are people out there genuinely cheering is such a wondeful thing.
I just love watching his reaction to final fantasy stuff because this is how I feel inside when I hear anything ff7 related I don’t have many friends who partake in jrpg games so seeing others react the way I do always makes me excited even more

I get him. Sometimes I wish I was part of the 0.000000000001% of the playerbase that doesn't know what lowest point in FF7 means.
This made my year knowing Crisis core and Part 2 is coming closer than we all thought. Also looks like a won a bet there's going to be three parts. Square is starting to put in work with all these announcements
Eh it's about as long as part 1 took from announcement to release tbh as part 1 was announced and stated to have started development in spring 2015 (and supposedly restarted in 2017) before releasing in Spring 2020 (so about 3 to 5 years development time if you count all thing scrapped for max development time). The devs claim part 2 stated development in 2019 which if it releases in around Dec 2023 to March 2024 will be about 4 to 5 years of development time as well (don't have any real concrete news of exactly what season they started development in 2019...just that it started in 2019). So if it takes roughly the same amount of time Part 3 will likely be released around 2027-2028.
Only other question i guess we can ask ourselves is if they'll do a remake for Dirge of Cerberus as well or not.
@@ifrit1937 One thing they have already started working on part 3 from what they have said. Which to me means they are writing the story. It will also be most likely faster for Part 3 as many models will already be done and worked on from part 1 and part 2 which can be reused easily. Something to keep in mind Covid hit and that without question slowed development of Part 2 down by a lot. So Part 3 will most likely come out faster then part 2 has because a lot of ground work will already be done.
Max's FF7 content is some of the best content on TH-cam. I can't NOT smile the entire time. His love and excitement for this is so damn infectious.
The look on max's face when first solider turned up killed me. Calling it now, Zack's Avalanche alias is Stamp. He is called "puppy" in that trailer for crisis core and stamp is shown alot during his cutscene at the end of the first part.
When this was all dropped yesterday this was the reaction I couldn't wait to see! And Max of course always meets my expectations. I know this because my reaction was exactly the same lol. So pumped for ff7 content over the next year!

I’ve never even played the original game, but Remake has easily become my favorite game of all time. Not that it doesn’t have weaknesses, but the charm of it and the characters brings me the same nostalgic feelings I experienced when I played my used to be favorite game of all time (FFX) for the first time.
I zoom so fast when I see a video of Max reacting or talking about while watching new FF7Remake stuff because his genuine joy and excitement is infectious and gives me that boost of the happy juice in my brain.

Just a minor little detail, but in the Japanese version of the Rebirth trailer, Cloud mentioned Zack's name. He doesn't in the English version. When I heard that, I got chills and nearly cried.
On a similar note, in the Japanese version Tifa asks, "It wasn't a different person?" Instead of what she said in the English version. It's just little differences, and idk if they mean anything.
Just a language difference grammatically speaking. I study Korean, so it’ll be a difference within the rules of the language. 🙂
@@nightwing나이트윙 I know they grammatically and essentially mean the same thing, but it's the word choice that makes everything more sus when you think just a little bit deeper into it.
For instance, "an imposter" implies that Tifa is a fake or that someone else was impersonating her, and "betsujin" or "betsu hito", aka "different person" in Japanese, implies that it wasn't Tifa, but someone else as in they were there, but not because they could've been impersonating Tifa.
Also, Cloud not mentioning Zack's name could mean a number of things out of context, even if they were showing him and Zack on-screen as he says that line it doesn't necessarily have to be Zack. However, the Japanese version confirms it WAS Zack that Cloud was talking about. If people who didn't understand who Cloud was talking about in the English trailer, and never saw the Japanese trailer, there is a probability that they won't put two and two together, even though a majority of people will.

1:51 I went to the SquareEnix Presentation in 2019 and people went nuts when they showed off the FFVIIRemake presentation. Quite the experience.

Honestly I was excited for that Crisis Core Reunion, but you mentioning it on Switch actually seems like a good idea, hadn't thought about that. Was PSP, might be nice to get it on Switch.
Also I REALLY hope Ever Crisis does come out on something other than mobile, man.
I'm sure that one will come to switch as well eventually, just like the pocket version of ff15. But who knows how long that will take.

I honestly see the Forgotten City being where the game ends. Think the amount you said is actually too much. I know disc 2 and 3 have more endgame content but most of the story I'd say was in disc 1.
That seems pretty much spot on. I'd be happy with that. I'm a little bit worried about the remake losing a spark that the OG had in terms of the Cloud and Co's motivation. After the Forgotten city, their characteristics all develop through suffering, loss and emotion. Without something playing out similar to this part of the game, I'm worried where the remake will go with the plot. I'm all for change but it must make sense and not be there just for a minimal fan service or shock value, there must be a reason behind it for the story. I liked Part 1 of the remake but I'm not too keen on a kingdom hearts style plot.
And I suppose the advert children & Cerberus going to be DLC.
@@foodwich2132 nah end of disc 1 is going to be like in the same spot as when the plate dropped in part 1, around chapter 12 to 13. They're going to make us deal with that emotional stuff as we see cloud lose his mind in the northern crater
@@jacksonstubbs2999 fair point actually. I can even imagine not playing as Cloud for the first couple of hours in part 3 to build him up like how they did with Sora in KH2. I know many people didn't like KH2's slow opening but I think playing another character other than the main protagonist in the intro was actually really cool.

This presentation basically gave me everything I wanted. CC was imo the one good thing to come out of the FFVII Compilation milking period of the 2000's so it's nice it's getting a lot more attention. Remake Intergrade on Steam finally compells me to get the PC version after I played it already on PS4 and PS5, and seeing that opening portion of the Nibelheim flashback in the Rebirth teaser was chill-inducing. Definitely getting onto that next winter. Surprised it's that soon.
Although, it does sincerely suck that it looks like the Remake series will remain PS/PC exclusive for the forseeable future. Pour one out for the Xbox homies.
I think the Crisis Core re-release was mainly for people who don't know Zack. He seems like he's gonna play a very major role in Rebirth. I really hope he's playable since he's my favourite FF character.
@@foodwich2132 That's what I'm thinking too. They're selling CC to the people who only know FFVII through what Remake has laid out so far. For returning players the intrigue won't come from how it ties to the OG chronology but rather, how said events will be subverted by what FFVII R does going forward especially after Intergrade asserted Zack being alive in some form, and newcomers will get the basics on who Zack is ahead of him playing a much larger role in Rebirth
You shouldn't support the pc version of this game because doing so will encourage future exclusive titles. You already own and have played the game, don't support anti-consumer practices by giving these companies money for making the entire PC community wait this long. Buying it on steam says 'ok I'm willing to wait so you guys can double dip'. Some of us will never own a playstation and I certainly do not want to support Epic Games so help us out here

Stayed up late to watch this last night and loved it. Really hope Max gets with Strippin to theory craft together, the two of them on Dropped Frames was incredible
I love how every FF7 related announcement (even in other games) always pushes Max's physical being into a blur.
I gotta admit, having played FFVII for the first time with the Remake, this trailer didn't get me that hyped initially. Seeing Max lose his shit tells me that I just don't get it, and so now I'm hyped because I know it looks awesome for people that know what's going on 😂

@@Walamonga1313 Actually, the Midgar section contains, like, 1/3rd of OG7's script... Just because Midgar is quite small on the overworld map, and just because you spend most of your time in the game outside of Midgar, doesn't mean that Midgar is just 10% of the game, it just means that, once you've left Midgar, the pace of the plot slows down to a crawl and _a lot_ of the game ends up being about just running around on the overworld map.
Because you haven't played the original FF7. It's as simple as that. I'd imagine that alot of people who only played the Remake are utterly confused about the story and where it's going. Simply because alot of it is predicated on understanding the original... Square Enix won't admit that... but it's literally a story about how their retconning the original events of FF7. Aside from the changes, there are parts in this trailer that are callbacks to the original. Take the scene where Cloud and Sephiroth are walking... If you haven't played the original then you don't know what this scene implicates. So my advice for EVERYONE who has or plans to play the remake(s).... PLAY THE ORIGINAL FF7.
@@TenderViddlez make no mistake, I like the intrigue. I don't need to know what's going on to enjoy myself and I don't need all the answers now. FFVII Remake is one of, if not, my favorite game of all time now. I just meant since I don't know what comes next, the trailer didn't really bring the hype for me personally. I'm sure the next trailer will definitely bring it for those looking for a bit more.

Man, I'm SO THRILLED about everything that was shown during the stream. Rebirth of course was the highlight, but I'm too incredibly excited about Crisis Core Reunion since I never got to play the original. Christmas will be a blast this year!!

I don't know the most about FFVII, but I could see someone dying, perhaps the same person, or maybe someone different, or maybe even multiple people get killed, but then the final installment is called FFVII: Revival. Max keeps saying the most hype thing is what they keep going with, so imagine their being deaths and then SE announcing that the final subtitle is Revival. People would go nuts at the implications.
That is a good theory, because originally you were supoused to choose from 3 characters in the original ff7 and the rest would die(it would happen in that parachuting upon midgard)...so maybe, they will do something similar...cool theory
