I think that’s the beauty of “Dip”, you can try anything. If it doesn’t turn out, peel it off and try again. Normally, if you painted your car and didn’t like it, there was be all of that sanding and prep work to paint it again. These guys on this channel drive a different color car to work each week! What a cool perk!
4/5 - I actually really love how sophisticated it looks, especially with those wheels. And it makes sense that it would look decent. The brown is a darker complementary to the blue and purple. They mixed together to create a softer color, more elegant version of their originals. I'd love seeing this on a big luxury car, honestly.
I eventually want to do purple for myself, but can't decide if I want more magenta or violet. This seems to cover both bases. It is very interesting to look at too!
Colour theory suggested that the orange in the Root Beer and the blue in the HyperShift would largely neutralize each other, leaving mostly purple and a deeper, almost chocolatey, brown. And that's pretty much what we got! TBH, I think brown and purple are really nice together and super underrated. The bronze hubcaps in particular are a wonderful complement. PS: I know you hear this a lot, but the slow-mo shots of mixing in the glass jar and pouring out are just chef-kiss satisfying.
What I didn't expect was the reds that came through. Oddly enough, one I really like. I'd give it a 3.5. Keep experimenting. The end results are sometimes magically unique.
5 for sure, I like the deeper color shifts. Most of the dips you do look great on cars, but not so much for trucks. This Wicked Potion would look good on any truck.
I would love to see you show a speed shape of what the pearl etc would look like over its normal base colour in these videos. Im getting old and cant remember what the original colours look like. Would definitly help notice what the effect the used base has on the pearl
"We just wanted to do something different." That got me hooked immediately. I love the experiments because there's a chance we'll see something great that no one would ever try.
4 This looks really nice and overall I like the shifts. I would really like to see zta over some that deepens and enriches the blue and purple. Or something with a copper tone over the root beer.
@@wiredshini I recall a motorcycle in a chopper magazine years ago, they had a basic, but amazing paint job. It was black, just black, but the clear coat had some very large red flakes in it, very sparsely. The red flakes were at least an inch apart, so it was still black, with what looked like many coats of clear, the second coat of clear with the red flake, it was very different, and effective. Kind of a 3D effect to it.
Quite interesting. I would say this is a 5 overall. Was not expecting this result but with the window tint and the bronze wheels it looks very natural. Almost OEM if they were into color shift. Glad you guys experiment as much as you do. Some of the best results are often unexpected.
I am honestly blown away by how good this looks. I did not think the shift would look good over the root beer but it turned into a lovely rich maroon with a subtle blue and purple glow. 5 out of 5 from me.
I have never hated anything you guys have done, your definitely one of the best spray shops there is. Impressive work, and knowledge on colors. I will give this color a 4 out of 5 because I do think it would look better over black, but you guys always experiment with new color combos which is the only way to know what works. That's why you guys have so much color knowledge. Love the channel, and color experiments guys keep up the professional work 👍👍
Man this one is absolutely a five. Because the root beer base and the blue pearl are complimentary colors, at certain angles they neutralize into a bold silver. Having a car where it's super saturated from every angle is one thing, but the shift in saturation from one angle to another enhances the impact of the vibrant areas by contrast. It feels much more sophisticated of a paint job to me than just putting the loudest pearl on the safest base, my new top choice for my own car
In some angles almost has a polished bronze look. I’d give it a 3.5ish. Not my favorite but I definitely wouldn’t be upset if it was sprayed on my truck
That’s unexpectedly good. I love how it made the purple stand out, then gave it blue, pink, silver and burgundy highlights. Turned out much better than I thought it would, solid 4.5
4 - That’s not bad. It is like a weird semi gloss plum color. If the rims were the root beer color, that would be a nice but, blend/combo to bring the whole color car look together. I think if the base coat was a bronze, it would help the pearl pop
Bro! I absolutely love it. Having that base actually brings a wider range of a shift. Highlights the purples a bit more so that the blue doesn't overpower the entire thing. It looks awesome. Full 5 on that one.
(Comment 3.) Hi from Germany, there is something I'd love to see and it's something i haven't seen from you guys before. (In advance, i know this is probably more work than usual but i hope you'll do it anyway ^^) Base: A dark black Cover: VOODOO VIOLET Candy Either a HyperShift or a ColorShift : Preferably from invisible to a very vibrant gold, and a very fast and hard shift at that. Since invis is probably not possible a violet that blends with the voodoo candy would also work Pearl size: As small as possible would probably have the best effect, but once again i trust your judgment on this. Now to the special part: A edge(-shift) highlight, so basically the gold Color- or HyperShift only goes on the sharp edges, corners, raised parts and high points of the panels... not on any flat surface! The edge(-shift) shouldn't be very wide tho as that wouldn't be an edge highlight anymore and would therefore ruin the intended effect. (3-5 mm [1/8 to 1/5 inch] should be good) Optional: Spray two different shifts, one from above (a bright gold) and one from below (a orangeish gold maybe) to further enhance the effect .... or only spray the shift from above to further enhance the effect. (obviously still not on any flat surface) Finish: A matte finish. But since i dont know how well the Shift effect would work, overrule me please if it won't work, i trust your judgment. [I'm not a native speaker so if anything is unclear ask away and i'll try to answer your question / try to be more specific as to what i mean] Have a nice day ^^
That is a spectacular color choice for that car. Very elegant and yet a bit flashy too. It really seems as if the root beer base is playing well with the blues and violets. Almost makes it seem metallic. WELL DONE!!!!
i love it. gets a 4 in my book. the brown basically humbled the blues and purples and made them a lot more subtle. they dont pop nearly as much but they are still obviously there and makes it a combo that's still amazing and catchy but also easy on the eyes. its something that you could keep on your car for a long time and not get tired of but always turn heads.
It makes more sense than you think at first certainly. Brown is technically just dark orange, and blue is known to go well with orange (the combination is wildly popular in various logos...)
5/5 for my vote!! Love the color shifts. Thank you for taking a risk to find a beautiful color combo. Name suggestions burgundy cobalt or electric plumb. Thank you for all the hard work for the wonderful videos.
it's a big 5 for me ... maay look weird and the rootbeer base may have got a role in this combination, but the end result is far more stunning then you mentioned... it changed to a violetish rootbeer shade with the hypershift colors that dominates the canvas has slightly changed to reveal a weird and wonderful new color palette in the hypershift causing a new look and I would call it a root-a-violet beer combo. awesome!!!!
5 for sure! Thebrown has tamed the blues and purples and added a bit of burgundy into an otherwise wild hypershift, and created a touch of class with a bit of a wild personality showing through!
Oh wow. Not what I was expecting. I love just about anything in the purple family and this plum looks amazing. This is why I love your experimentation videos. 4/5
BIG 5!!!!! it's maybe weird for a result but it's very shifty original, might use that combination on another size car or van... and see how it comes out!!!!
I really like this color. I could tell after the first spray it was gonna look cool. The root beer seems to have added some pink, bronze, and burgundy undertones to compliment the blue and purple.
When you first started spraying, I thought it would come out as a kind of burgundy... I'd call it something more like Silky Mulberry. It *Is* a Very Interesting End Result! A Solid 3.5! 👍
So, after seeing the final result, I like it. Solid 4, though it's made with two absolute 5 star pieces. I honestly think that only 2 grams per gallon would have allowed a bit more root beer to show through. But this tinted version of ZTA is quite nice as well. Loving the videos, carry on. 😀
At 1:27 I have to stop and say - this is going to be amazing! That root beer is beautiful, and if you do this right with that pearl, it'll be stunning. Now to finish the video. 😀
I really like it, I'm going to give it a solid 5 as I have a soft spot for purple! Has a really pleasent hue because of the brown and kinda has an almost matt like quality.
I like it more than I thought I would. A solid 2.75- 3. I'm the biggest fan color changing colors but I could live with it. The root beer brings out more of a deep maroon/purple almost satin look.
The red in the purple, or is it the red in the brown work SO well together. This is lovely. I ... Damn, I hate brown for a car colour. This makes me want to paint my car brown and hit it with this colour-shift.
I give it a 5. Scratching my head as to why I like this and why this works. Looks like a what I would imagine a hyper shift over bare weathered steel or heat treated stainless might look like.
*Root Beer base definitely changed the tones of the pearl...thoughts? Rate 1-5* ⬇
Man, that is incredible, I love it 5 for sure.
2.9
7:34. I love the Dark Plum color that came out of this combination. ( 5+)
4 not to shure i keep going back and forth

"Blue and purple have no business going over brown, thats why we are gonna spray it" Thats one of the reasons I love this channel 😂💖
When i heard that I pressed the like button while laughing 😂
Honestly did not expect how cool this would look! I've seen tons of his videos and this one is in my top 10 for sure.
That is a "5", I'm always surprised by the results you guys get with the weird color combinations. Good job!

5. The root beer subdues the shift making it have a deep, subtle glow. And the random burgundy highlights are great!
definatly agree with you.
Facts!

I was definitely not expecting it to look as good as it does.
I eventually want to do purple for myself, but can't decide if I want more magenta or violet. This seems to cover both bases. It is very interesting to look at too!
Its definitely "Plum Crazy" for sure. I like the deep purple to almost red shift and the dark brown almost looks Tan'ish underneath the ZTA
More likely a Rotten Plum Crazy?
I think there’s mauve to the story here

+1 for whatever chefkiss is
I think the orange in the root beer is what helped to cause the subtle reds that you see at some angles.
What I didn't expect was the reds that came through. Oddly enough, one I really like. I'd give it a 3.5. Keep experimenting. The end results are sometimes magically unique.
5/5. Love it and there's a real subtle burgundy that comes through with the blue and purple. Another win in my book.
5! A Plum color that looks almost like heat treated bronze. A win!
5 for sure, I like the deeper color shifts. Most of the dips you do look great on cars, but not so much for trucks. This Wicked Potion would look good on any truck.
5 it looks great. I wasn't expecting it to look so good. It looks like it toned the colors and slowed down the shift from blue to purple.
I would love to see you show a speed shape of what the pearl etc would look like over its normal base colour in these videos. Im getting old and cant remember what the original colours look like. Would definitly help notice what the effect the used base has on the pearl
Completely agree. A speed shape sample of the raw secondary color would be awesome to compare to
"We just wanted to do something different." That got me hooked immediately. I love the experiments because there's a chance we'll see something great that no one would ever try.
4 This looks really nice and overall I like the shifts. I would really like to see zta over some that deepens and enriches the blue and purple. Or something with a copper tone over the root beer.
This comment has me thinking…copper ghost over root beer?
@@wiredshini that sounds awesome! Maybe some flake in there?
@@alphagt62 maybe! Dunno if it would cover the root beer too much but maybe a smaller pigment load for the flake?

I give this a 5 for sure such nice subtle color changes with that deep burgundy purple color with those blue side tones
The dispatcher asks the cop, “What color is the car?”, the cops says, “I’m not sure?” This was definitely beautiful.
I really dig it.
Looks better than I thought it would. I'll give it a solid 3. Not the best color you've ever shot, but the violet really pops.
This is a 10 for me. Definitely my favorite that you've done so far! Except, of course, musou black!

I barely see a brown.. it looks like a blueberry wine.. i love it! 4.2/5
I’m hooked on this channel ❤😊

definitely a 5. Purple is my favourite color & I love that this one goes in to the darker aubergine and burgandy tones
The wheel color goes with just 👌🏽 Love the color. Thank you guys for always trying new things
It's a win, love the chance taking attitude keeps me watching, the anticipation and build up to the final stops me skipping to the end.
Did not expect it to be that purple, but I love it! Kind of a dark plum. Really cool result. 5/5
Loved the camera work for the dispersion mixing. Keep doing it like that. It was so satisfying!
This is definitely a 5. You guys are great at thinking outside of what should work and come up with winners most of the time
I give it a 5. It's nothing that you would expect and that's what makes it stand out. Great job!
5+++++that is gorgeous . You could see the result as soon as you started laying down the first coat!

When it was being applied, I thought "This might just work." The end result is a nice grape soda look. I'd rock it.
Absolute 5/5. Love the gorgeous colour. Love your videos and look forward to them every week.
5! Brown is an underrated color on cars but the hidden brown pops! Banger!

Love the color shifts. Thank you for taking a risk to find a beautiful color combo. Name suggestions burgundy cobalt or electric plumb. Thank you for all the hard work for the wonderful videos.
Shadow Plum? Really interesting how it went from blue-dominant to purple-dominant with the change in base. Pretty neat.
Damn, I actually really love this. Easy 5 from me. I like the slightly more subdued, sophisticated shifts over the super flashy ones.
5 best surprise color combo. Almost candied chrome. Everything pops instead of hiding in contrast of a black base. More root beer base please

A solid 4. Gorgeous tones and shifts.
I really like this color. I could tell after the first spray it was gonna look cool. The root beer seems to have added some pink, bronze, and burgundy undertones to compliment the blue and purple.
Wow. Not at all what I expected. Giving off a hard plum vibe. I like it.
"5" I love it. But I'm a fan of purple already. The root beer base gives the hypershift a warmth that... well, it just does it for me.
Way better than I thought it would look - end result is more purple than brown with nice subtle shifts to blue 3.5/5
Solid 5! That color came out gorgeous!
Looks great, I think it would look even better with black trim instead of the chrome. Another great vid!
love so much, incredible result of this paint ! look so amazing
4.5 this is an amazing color. I absolutely love it!
Definetly a 5!! Not supposed to work, but I think it looks awesome!! The rim color also adds to the appeal. Great job guys!!
When you first started spraying, I thought it would come out as a kind of burgundy...
I'd call it something more like Silky Mulberry. It *Is* a Very Interesting End Result! A Solid 3.5! 👍
5, absolutely freakadelic!! Talk about getting your freak on Fonz. Stunningly beautiful

blueberry brownie would be a good name for this. Keep doing weird stuff like this!

Now to finish the video. 😀
Wow im shocked how good that looks! Solid 4.5 there
That hypershift pigment you're using looks super nice just by itself in suspension.
That's really nice. The horizontal parts of the car really shift to almost an off-color metallic black. Basically a 5.
4.8 for the way this turned out on the car . Keep up the great work guys. Happy New Year!,
I really like it, I'm going to give it a solid 5 as I have a soft spot for purple! Has a really pleasent hue because of the brown and kinda has an almost matt like quality.
5 - I love ZTA, and with a rootbeer base is no exception. Gorgeous!
I honestly was expecting something HORRIBLE!! This isn't bad at all. You guys continue to amaze me. Nice job!!!! I'll give this a 3.8
I like it more than I thought I would. A solid 2.75- 3. I'm the biggest fan color changing colors but I could live with it. The root beer brings out more of a deep maroon/purple almost satin look.
Looks like a fancy purple love it
That is not at all what I was expecting but I love the subtlety of the shift. I just can't believe that's over a brown base 🤯
That's a delicious plum color. I like the blues too, and the burgundy. Not too surprised, I think brown isn't that far off from purple. 5 for me.
Looks like a plum! Love it! Definitely a 5.
It came out better than I thought. As you started spraying I thought yep. Bad idea. However the end result wasn't too bad
5. Have you considered trying a solid base color and then spray a hypershift stripe from bumper to bumper down the middle?
Love the electric violet truffle!
The red in the purple, or is it the red in the brown work SO well together. This is lovely. I ... Damn, I hate brown for a car colour. This makes me want to paint my car brown and hit it with this colour-shift.
Absolutely a "5" Never thought it would turn out that color tone
5 Love!! That is hittin just right! Finally a brown I can get down with on a car! 🤣 Lovin that plum! 🤩
Looks amazing. I give a 2.5, now if it had gold, silver or chrome rims it would be a huge 1
😍😍 It’s gorgeous. I absolutely love it.
This looks similar to the Nissan R34 purple. Well done and a 5 from me! I have grown to respect this company so much.
I give it a 5. Scratching my head as to why I like this and why this works. Looks like a what I would imagine a hyper shift over bare weathered steel or heat treated stainless might look like.
I'd give it a solid 4 as it's definitely different. It's more of a plum to mauve with blue undertones. I like it.
I want to see more of that rootbeer! Its so pretty
I love that the hypershift is slightly muted you still get the shift but not so in your face.
It's great for someone who like the color shift but doesn't want in your face bright and strong shifts. I like it
