This is the kind of color that I was notice in public and compliment. It's the right balance of unique and classy. Turquoise chrome and ultra yellow are cool, but they can border on tacky or being "too much" in many circumstances.
I will give it a redline straight to 5, that color is what I wanted my first car to look like, unfortunately I painted it back in the 70s and well I'll just say it fell below my expectations, but the fun factor was way up there.
A definite 5 for me!! Love how it transitions from an orange tint, to a root beer color and back to a blackcherry. I would also love to see that orange as a standalone color or two toned with another.
I'm going to give this 4.5 out of 5. I could see this as a premium OEM color on a big luxury car. Before you started spraying I predicted that it would be brown. Brown is just a really dark orange and I figured that orange pearl over dark cherry (an almost black red) would certainly result in BROWN. I was ALMOST correct. I can see it shifting from the dark cherry through brown and then to the orange pearl. It isn't a flashy "LOOK AT MEEE!" type of paint job, but more of a "This is what you get when you buy a top end car: nice paint!" This is an adult color. The kids won't appreciate it, but mature adults will appreciate the subtle sophistication of the perceived palette.
I like to think i watch these videos pretty regularly and a get a feel for the type of community here. This comment is wack. You come across as a bitter old person that hates on kids because they have the youth you no longer do. That's why you have to keep digging at them with comments like "the kids won't like it" and "this is what you get when you buy a top-end car". Its fine to like the color. It's not fine to arbitrarily decide on nothing more than your own feelings that younger people won't like it because it's not a "look at me" color as you so put it. Sorry and im sure youre a great person but it really grinds my gears to people saying backhanded things like that to a group that didnt even do anything except exist. I hope you have a good rest of your day and hope you understand where my concern is coming from. Cheers.
@@Jaaskeleton but he does have a very valid point on it being a high end car. spray it on a rolls royce and boom. badass luxury car heck even a cadillac CTS-V. this color would fit luxury car brands better as exotic materials and paints are normally on luxury or exotic cars anyways. thats why they aint cheap
@@Jaaskeleton As colorshift pearl goes this is a really understated one that appeals more to people that want to blend in traffic in while still having cool paint up close, than to people that want to "be seen". From a distance it looks like a fairly conventional copper/burnt sienna pearl, and it would indeed work well on a landyacht class ultra luxury sedan where a loud finish would just look jarring because the message of the paint is conflicting with the message of the car. If you see a lime green Maybach you're going to expect someone like Post Malone to step out, not the aged CEO of a multinational corporation.

Ford actually has a color almost the same, and they called root-beer at least that's what the guy who had a f150 in my neighborhood said they called it, when I asked him cuz it had my eye from the first time I saw him drive by.
that's a loud resounding 5 +5 for me. being drawn to both black cherry and burnt orange tones this combo, though i would not have thought to put them together; is absolutely brilliant

I like it a lot actually. Was prepared to "meh" it because it looked a little heavy being sprayed. Could have even nibbed it down to a 3 or 4 gram drizzle but I dig that copper effect.
That's a 5 from me. Black cherry is one of my favorite colors and this gave it a nice almost coffee contrast on it that isn't so overpowering and flashy. Like someone said, this is a high end car type paint job. Looks awesome!

I give it a 4. I really like the combination, but my preference would be for the orange to be a little more subtle. It would be interesting to see what a full blown Mojave orange on the brake calipers would look like.
Your a clever man, I like the colour with gentle touches of black around the car, its not a colour I'd go for on my car but, it suits that car very well, you have a 5 for the colour from me
That is a solid "5" on that color. It comes on as a Deep Bronze then Copper with orange highlights in it. I love all deep earth toned colors and this plucks all the right strings for me. Glad you wanted to do this & DID!
@I Object, for me it's between a 2-3 out of 5. I was concerned about the few large sparkly bits on the hood and front fascia, were those bits of debris or large paint particles... Down the driver's side, at times it was looking a bit like some guy's no-so-good attempt to paint his car black and orange with rattle cans. I think that if anything, maybe try a red pearl atop the black cherry.
I absolutely LOVE this combo! I'm an avid outdoorsman, it reminds me of a stealthy hunter who wears just enough orange to be legal. I've watched a lot of your videos. All the combos you do are amazing. I've loved a majority of them. But this, I'm IN LOVE with and if I were to paint my truck this would be it. Gabe needs to get his thinker checked.
I give it a four . Now it just needs gold deep dish 18 inch rims with taller tires with raised white letters or better yet gold fineline sidewall tires
love the final result. Only gets a 4.5 though, because I feel the wheels look dead with the glossy finish of the body. The wheels with a contrast or complimentary colour would be the ticket, the mat-finish looked great with the flat black cherry, but now they just look bland.
4/5 I thought youd end up with brown at best, but this looks surpisingly good. Bronze from straight with purple-ish tint when angled. Not something id choose for my car, but looks very good.
That orange color swirling in the clear container was beautiful. Too bad nobody's been able to cast that beautiful swirl pattern. It's truly beautiful.

3/5 I could see this being really good as a base for a steampunk custom job, as the look is like iron oxide with copper. Weld some copper piping detail, install some steam valves and pressure gauges, paint riveted plates texture on it, and this would look super dope.
The color looks great. The wheels for me needed to be a gloss black though. I know gloss black is overdone but in this case I think it would set off better.
I thinks as well.and I would say the entire car a flat ...no floss with that shade.a little less pigment too.1 third less to show the black cherry more. .I could hear that in the tone of his voice as well ..hindsight makes it easy to see better lol
Came out super chocolatey! I'd love to see some speed shape samples of this at 10g/gal. I think over a silver base this has potential as a cool copper pearl top coat.
4, I’d call that a “Chocolate Sunshine”. Not my favorite color combo, but it came out better than I thought it would. I was preparing myself for heaving, so ya know…..lol.
I’ll go with a 3 although the end result is nice, I think I’d have liked it better if it was a dark moss green base. Still the difference between the two colors is stunning. Nice job

That's the first thing I though of when I saw the finished product. Back in the 70's I had a metal flecked rootbeer Porsche Hot Wheel. It was my favorite HW car I had.

its a 3 for me, its great, but not my cuppa, im generally a very specific colour palette person to be quite honest, it would have been a 5 if it was purple with the same effect as black and purple is just an ultimate combo to me, i am actually curious though, is there a purple version of that mojave orange? if so, i may see about getting a bit for some of my rc projects
1 - I hope it looks better in person because it comes across as having a very brown under tone which I think is really preventing the black cherry or the orange from doing something impressive. I love that it's different but I think this is definitely a case where the end product is less than the sum of its parts. I too love a burnt copper sort of look as others have stated but this is not that in my opinion. To each their own, however.
For effect, I definitely give it a 5; you're right, any more would have been too much. HOWEVER: the color itself, I think should have been a tad more to the red, to bring out the red in the black cherry base.

My first car was a 75 Mustang 2 that was dark brown with gold flecks. This reminds me of a modern take on that color. I love the purple undertones in the shadows. 4 1/2 for me.
5/5 because it's such a rich , grown up colour , it it seriously gorgeous in a very understated way , sometimes a bit purple , sometimes a bronzy copper / chestnut.

Easily a 3.5-4 for me. I tend to gravitate more toward blues and purples, but this is a nice burnished bronze effect. Gorgeous reveal.

look at the reflection of the building in the hood, it's not glossy at all, definitely satin finish... or hasn't been buffed yet.
I like the deep Copper tones it gives. the two together evoke fresh plums to me.

For effect, I definitely give it a 5; you're right, any more would have been too much. HOWEVER: the color itself, I think should have been a tad more to the red, to bring out the red in the black cherry base.
It kinda has the feel of that yellow/brown colour from the late 70's-early 90's and I'm here for it.
I give it a four, it's pretty darn nice looking but I think a smidge more Pearl would have set it off.
I'm not a car person, but I know when a vehicle is spectacular. This paint combo is freaking fantastic.

I love the subtle color of copper. It works it's not loud,in your face orange. It's a soothing warm copper brown

4, but a very nice color. I think I'd like it with a bit more reddish tone. Because the immediate impression is brown until you really look. A tone towards the red for the base would probably hit a good mark.

I truly appreciate it! This rare root beer is tops and the transitions are immaculate. I could be upset if everyone did this combo as I'm definitely tempted to do a lifted 99 Tahoe in this fashion. Thanx.
It's a 5 for me.
My first car was a 75 Mustang 2 that was dark brown with gold flecks. This reminds me of a modern take on that color. I love the purple undertones in the shadows.

5/5 because it's such a rich , grown up colour , it it seriously gorgeous in a very understated way , sometimes a bit purple , sometimes a bronzy copper / chestnut.
