Testing Disney's ALL NEW Magic Band+ At Hollywood Studios! | Problems & Batuu Bounty Hunters Game!

- In today’s vlog we head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try out the all new Magic Band+! We purchase the band, immediately have to charge the band (doh!), update the firmware of the band (double doh!), try out all the functionality of the new band and play the new Batuu Bounty Hunters AR game in Galaxy’s Edge! We also got to hang out with Adam and see the differences in his band, which wasn’t a plain colored band like mine and the differences in his Bounty Hunter game as well! We had some lunch at Pizzerizzo and called it a day! Although we started our Magic Band+ journey with some issues, we did have a lot of fun with it, the integration with the statues was neat and we loved the Batuu Bounty Hunter game! I agree but could be fun to do on way to rides etc, especially for people like me who don't have a magic band already
@@dominiquebrown8790 I mean like... You don't HAVE to stare at your phone... This is optional and you aren't pressured into doing it. Also you don't need your phone for any of it. You could technically do all of it with just your magic band+. I guess carrying around a charger around isn't the best, but to be fair it's not the worst thing. While you're standing in a line you could charge it, or you could even use it while it's charging.
The + would b good for people who don’t like some of the rides, and when you have been so many times that nothing seems new. And like myself I enjoy people watching and just enjoy being in the parks.

These kind of games/functions are for local Florida guests who go to Disney all of the time. Park-goers who only frequent Disney once/twice a year can’t waste time doing stuff like this. We are too busy trying to ride all the rides, buy all the things and eat all the food. 🤣
I agree haha, when I go to the parks I go to ride the rides, however I would still buy the magicband+ because I still want all of these benefits😂

I actually like the extra features. I need to take breaks (from the stress of go go go) during the day so finding an interactive statue or something would be a perfect distraction for me
Came here to say that. I just got back from DW and I couldn’t see myself spending all that time going back and forth doing these games. Plus was really disappointed with the “interactive” of the statues. Really just playing sounds. At least at universal Harry Potter things move and really feel like you do interact. I just ended up using my Apple Watch and not bothering with Disney band.
Everything new at Disney seems so stressful, Genie +, Magic band +, Lightening Lane......it just doesn't seem like any fun to me. I think Magic Band+ makes more sense for people who are at the parks all the time. Thanks for the review Tim, you and Jen are the best!

It's not SUPPOSED to be fun. In fact, they deliberately designed everything to be obtuse, inconvenient, rigidly planned and now they nickel and dime you at every turn for one reason: They want to scare off day-trippers, local residents, and the average joe. The new parks direction is to turn Disney World specifically into a destination vacation for the upper 1% and the "once-in-a-lifetime" families that save for years to come there and therefore spend the most. Why ELSE would they make a Star Wars hotel that costs a grand to stay at and lock all the LARPing aspects they promised years ago for Galaxy's Edge behind that paywall?

Is anyone else a bit underwhelmed? I don't like having to look at my phone so much anyway,and having to fiddle about, reading stuff and trying to get things to open would not be my idea of fun. The only bit that I would like was the bounty hunting bit. That did look cool. And imagine looking your magic band when the most incredible fireworks are happening up in the sky! haha. It’s so cool seeing MagicBand+ in action! I already bought mine for my January trip as soon as I saw they were available to resort guests, and I can’t freaking wait to use it.

I have to say that the bounty hunting is only worth it if your someone who is annual passholder or a DVC member who visits OFTEN

Tim you seem like almost a different person when you do your own vlog vs. with the whole family.
Well I think when you're out on your own as a parent you're automatically a bit more "relaxed" than usual. Having a toddler is just...chaos. Even if you have extra eyes on them, you're instinctively always keeping an eye on them and they're at the front of your mind. You're also mostly having to do things the kid can do, esp since Tim and Jenn love including Jackson so much. I see the same kind of difference all the time with friends and family that have kids!
That was fun to watch! Adam is a fun addition to your theme park shenanigans!

this seems like such a hassle. and disney wifi is nowhere near strong enough for everyone to be on it at once. and i feel like once you've "collected" the statues or done the bounty hunting, you're done. seems like it will get useless pretty quickly, other than fireworks interactive
Fixing the battery and update issue is easy, they'll just carefully unbox and update them over the next few days, until the newer updated batches are ready. If you are local, yes it may not have enough updates to satisfy you. For someone who only makes a trip there once or twice a year, should be more than enough unique features to try I also imagine they have a laundry list of expansion ideas for them, they are already cool how they interact with the statues and getting credits.

Don’t count on it. I was there last week and while in the line for Pirates saw two ladies the whole time trying to link their bands. Yes they were following direction to the letter. It just wouldn’t link up.

Dost thou recall when one would download “firmware” (I guess) and have to run every step of it as if we were software engineers with engineer-written instructions? By dial-up? Well… I do. (24. Hours. Later…) It’s still all impressive to me, even when it doesn’t work perfectly. Otoh, when computer stuff that should just work, that is promised to work, doesn’t work, I pretty much lose my mind. Gen X dilemma. 😉

Love the new magic bands, this kind of interactivity is great. They got some simple kinks to work out with getting them updated and usable at purchase, but once that part is done, the elements, especially in Star Wars were really neat.
Its a bummer you have to charge & update right away after purchasing, but atleast the price isn't too bad if you're staying on prop or have an AP. Thx for the coverage, Tim!

Hi, The Magic Band+ looks interesting, but they're new and we'll see if they are worth it for vacationers. It looks good for people who go to Disney alot though. I like the interaction sounds from the 50th Golden Statues. Star Wars area looks neat with it. Anyway, thanks for showing how your first time using it was. We'll see over time if it's worth it for people that only can go to Disney to vacation. It's hard to fit time in to do all you want when on vacation. Thanks for showing your first experience.. Hi Tim. I really love how you give a little tour of showing us of how Disney Magic Band+ works. On a 4th of July this year, I went to Shop Disney online. I'd ordered 2 Disney MagicBand+ with customization on them. one of them is Fantasmic from Disneyland & Disney's Hollywood Studios, and other MB+ is Pandora The World of Avatar. So exciting to have them. I'll have them next week on Wednesday on a 12th of this month. I haven't gone to Disney World in 3 years. I might go sometime this month finally. Not sure yet. 👍👍 for you Tim. You always make a greatest vlogs on your greatest quests. there is an additional charger sold separately; it is the same thing just a longer cord ! if you’re here for vacation i don’t suggest getting the longer cord since each band comes with one. but it is entirely up to you! you also can change the colors of the band lights in your my disney experience app in the settings of your magic band! :)

The Batu game is the coolest thing in this video. As a casual visitor I don't think I would ever play it but it's cool thst it exists.
