Winnie the Pooh in general was very popular in the 1970s. There was a tie-in in merchandising at Sears. Throughout the decade you could purchase Winnie the Pooh branded clothing. It started to wain in the 80s.

Randy Pausch was a Carnegie Mellon professor who lived an incredible life. He passed away from cancer. He gave a lecture titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" at CMU in 2007. This would be his last lecture. The book, "The Last Lecture", co-written by Randy was based on the lecture given at CMU. One of his dreams was to become a Disney imagineer. While on sabbatical from CMU he did become an imagineer for a year or two. He also helped develop Alice software project which helps create computer animations. I highly recommend looking up the lecture on TH-cam and/or reading his book "The Last Lecture".
