      It’s more about the ground and paper wasps than it is the bees. My friend that helps me when I trim was stung multiple times on his lower legs at a job this summer. He is not allergic to the stings but with so many at the same time it shut down his ability to breathe normally. I was extremely worried for him but he didn’t want to go to the med service a half mile away. He puked and then laid in my customers yard for a half hour. Scary stuff for sure. If any of you are remotely allergic please carry an epi pen at all times. I’m not sure if it would have helped in this incident but it probably wouldn’t have hurt either. Stay safe all😃

    Nice Keith. Similar method for me except I like to vigorously rake all the shrubs before trimming. Helps eliminate most of the flyers or pop up twigs and small branches. I still rake again at the end for anything missed. It’s a toss up with the tarps for me. Comes down to ease of clean up. Usually blower and rakes at the end. Always, always, always, tarp if you’re trimming over lava rock!!!! I HATE the stuff 😡. Similar pricing for me also. Seems I’m closer to 100$/hour bc I bid by size of shrub or hedge. My disposal price is rolled into the total unless the customer wants a line item bid. Thanks K for all the awesome advice the past couple years. I’ve made considerably more money bc of your videos. Keep em coming. I’ll be watching 😃. Shrubby from Battle Creek out 😎😎

    Hey Keith, glad I found your channel. Im a certified arborist but im going back to college for an Urban Landscaper Engineering degree. This means I have to support my family whilst doing fulltime studies and having to work Saturdays to make things go around.
    They way you teach about pricing is extremely helpful, I used to charge way too little because I was desperate for jobs, and afraid of being rejected because of pricing.

    Essential tip for any landscaper regarding electric trimmers: Husqvarna currently has the fastest blade speed (increases your speed and quality) and the most waterproof (IPV certified, no other trimmer has it). I tried all the Stihl electric trimmers and switched to Husqvarna. 25% faster blade speed means quality/speed of trimming/hedging instantly goes up. Make more money on quoted jobs.

    • @PJ-tt2nz
      @PJ-tt2nz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not true, the Stihl hsa 94T cuts with a blade speed of 5000cuts/min while the husqvarna battery trimmer does 4000 cuts/min, Stihl wins 😉

    • @JJ-pv9rf
      @JJ-pv9rf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are very efficient and get more done faster than others, you may want to charge even more per hour if you are doing the work yourself.
    When I am quoting a job, i estimate my time and then compare that figure with what I would guess the total job is worth.
    Somtimes my per hour rate seems low and ill increase the rate to what I think the job is worth.

    So, maybe talk to us about already damaged shrubs, or severely overgrown/neglected shrubs that will have serious gaps, or unevenness because in order to get it even, you'd have to make another bare spot which may not rebound, right?
    .
    Also, i use the HS45 too...considering an "eightysomething" or maybe a 56...just something to cut a bit thicker branches faster (maybe keep sharper?) I'm still using a file to sharpen, same for my km111 longbar hedge attachment, (which is a back breaking tool)

    • @PJ-tt2nz
