@Antartiida well I didn't say zero but compared to most any other business, operating costs are very low. Compare it to the tcg physical. Cards have to be made after hiring artist to draw them, pple have to print and box them, then they have to be shipped and shared costs with the store front. Plus the cost of all materials.
@ wtf you mean, read your comment again, ZERO you typed, and you want me to go ahead and read what you have to say when you can't even read your own comment, just losing time here, cya
Does this game print money? Yes. Does this game have cheap operating costs? Absolutely not. The amount of developers, artists, localization employees alone is huge, this isn't just a mobile game that can be designed by a couple people, there has to be hundred involved. Also the premise of this game is to always keep adding new expansions which means artists developers playtesters localization , all have to continuously work on the product possibly every single month. This is far from a cheap game to maintain. Compared to the physical tcg obviously operating costs would be lower but for a mobile game , this is not small.
@mapother4 every business has Costs. You think the costs are anything close to Nike? I doubt it. Factories, shipping etc AND they still have a team of developers dude. I'm not saying it's none. I'm saying when comparing, it's close to none

But even if you manage to not legally download it, you still cannot buy anything unless having to change your playstore account and loose all the possible play points some people have.
Pocket is basically pokemon NFTs that you can't currently sell. The battle system just wasn't fun for me. After only a few days i got to the point where i log in and open my pack. . then theres nothing to do without spending. Also long term there really isn't any rarity or scarcity to the cards. When real cards are printed, there might be only 20000 (I'm just picking a number here to illustrate my point) copies printed. In pocket people can open sets infinetly, meaning there are infinite copies of each card available to be pulled. Yes it isn't actually infinite but it is open ended and a very large number. I cancelled my pass and deleted the app.
100% with you rattle, I spent a bit of money on this game but I would have much rather they did something with LIVE. They could have done the exact same thing to tcg live and people would actually be enticed to learn the actual game.

it was reeeeally disturbing how many creators on YT made day-one videos with, "i spent $100....," in the title, almost trying to encourage others to do the same, which is absolutely ridiculous. it almost seemed as though they were paid to shill for pokemon pocket because of their subscriber count. disturbing.
I think a lot of people not understanding is because they dont actually play pokemon they like collecting valuable cards. Same reason you put money into master duel, arena, duel links, to make decks and have an awesome time battling other people with your personally crafted deck after finally pulling what you needed (or crafting it) it is a trading card GAME before a pure collecting art thing
I couldn’t imagine spending a lot of money on this. I play because I like the art and free digital packs are better than paying for real packs on my budget. Though my poor luck in physical packs is in the digital ones too. The rarest thing I’ve pulled so far is three swoobat cards in one pack, one after the other. I took a screenshot because three identical cards in one pack is a good reminder that with my luck, I should only buy singles.
I call BS. I'm well over half collected and I've played it for less than two weeks. Between wonder share, the dust trades, and the unending packs you have tons of opportunity to catch em all. People will get mad at anything. Including a free game apparently.
I just rerolled accounts until I opened some of the rarer cards I wanted. Now that I've already got to have the rush of opening tons of packs, I have no desire to spend money on them.
Pokemon Pocket is okay. Has nice arts, and you can battle anyone anywhere. It's bad because it's a cash grab, and battle animations are slow. The one constant in pokemon is the cardboard. I'll play pocket for free as a quick pastime, but nothing really to "collect". Cardboard4life.
The price of physical cards cost way more than pocket let's be honest here it's more streamlined experience quicker maches as someone who has over 15 years experience with gacha this is the least predatory even more so than the actual physical TCG game i have over 200 different cards each pack of 5 physical cards is 5 dollars that means I'd spend a minimum of a 1 thousand if i got lucky each pack because in the app it's says i have gotten a total of 600 cards yeah the physical game is way more costly
I really like the simplified card game. It’s quick enough to set up a new deck, and much faster gameplay. I don’t think it’s worth paying money for though.
Been collecting Pokémon for 25 years… never even tried to play it till ptc… I like it. Quick easy. Wish there was more to it, like duel links. It’s pokemon’s version of speed duel…
I’m just going to stay in the free version. I don’t like spending money on intangible things unless there is a trade market like counter strike skins. I can sell my counter strike inventory and make actual money. Can’t do that with this game so it’s just a money burn.
The game itself is fine. Not everyone wants to play long games. As a free to play player, you can compete no problem. I think its inferior to marvel snap though.
So for me, as a new entrant into the space wanting to open packs like 151 and surging sparks, but cant, it scratches a bit of an itch that i have since i cant get packs to open right now.. so I just use the free stuff they give you. Also the game is teaching me how to actually play the pokemon game and battle people which i have never done before ane find quite fun. Building a deck and and then using it.
I really enjoy the game.... That being said, it sucks how long it takes to get cards unless you pay. Needs to be able to trade cards and also trade in excess cards for other stuff.
These people don't know how to play the game and it shows haha! Major face palm! I have all 3 top chase cards of each pack variant and have 70% of the dex completed without spending a single dime! One day short of a full week since I downloaded the app.. the game has a battle feature that levels you up and you get so much rewards to open packs. adding friends gives you rewards.. looking at the game gives you rewards haha. Patience is a virtue. These nft's have no value. The internet has already been through this haha.. wow.. Welp at least this means more people will have less money to buy actual real cards so good news fore store shelves!! Thanks for all the pings in the discord by the way!! 🙏
For me its fun i collet as much i can without sending, also i like gen 1 style batle that they changed in Ex era, if you are smart, and don't spand on it, its ok game. Also its gate for people to get back into collecting real card sets, prices will definitivny be on the rise, i also thing that is the reason Surging spark is doing so fine right now ...
Is that a hook ups hoodie? Few weeks in and I feel like I have a pretty good collection. Haven't spent any money. I see no rush to get these cards. I'm fine collecting at 2 packs a day.
I play the game but won't pay to do it so pvp sucks but it's a game not a job. I noticed if you buy gold the pulls are better, I've been playing free getting trash while a buddy has dropped a few hundred already has an op deck and destroys everything
TCG live is alot better cuz you can buy real booster packs and redeem codes from the packs for a digital pack and you can craft cards easier, this is a Duel Links version of Pokemon TCG lol
i agree with all your videos, but that dosent take into account all of the hourglasses you can get completing missions, i open 5 or 6 packs a day for free, i guess it takes years just opening the 2 packs a day
That is just not true. I have only spent $20 and I am 80% to completing the set. I will probably not spend anymore money. Can you whale out and complete the set in a week? Yeah of course. Can you still be competitive play F2P or spending a minimal amount also yes. Its not trash, the only reason the physical tcg is seen as better is because people have arbitrarily attached value to cardboard. Like pokemon tcg is also very P2W you can buy all the best meta cards and if you cant you wont win as much as them.
Ya know. I am enjoying this game and opening a good amount of $$. I should know better and wanted to just ignore it. Nice to get the reminder, just cancelled the subscription.
I get hate any time i shit on tcg pocket but like i find better things out there to pass the time, i wouldnt buy anything nft like. Thought the world learned digital goods arent good. Therefor i wouldnt spend any money. Nor find it cool enough to waste my phone storage space on. Most will downlaod it and maybe have fun a few days or so and itll sit idle wasting phone space. My guess
Maybe people shit on you cuz they don't wanna here it from you.. if people like it people will play it..especially since how close minded you sound I wouldn't want to hear it from you either 😂
Anyone who spends thousands on a virtual tcg instead of a physical tcg has the IQ of a gnat. I'd love to be disproven about that, but it's straight fact.
@@chexcollects You're missing the point. Had you gambled on physical cards you'd have something that holds more value than a mobile game ever will over time. Remember Pokemon GO? Meme or not, your grandma isn't the problem here. You are.
Every expense of money is a waste of money other than basic necessities. Why are you wearing new shirts and shoes? Those are wastes of money, that shirt has art on it which probably meant you payed more for it than a plain shirt, why are you wasting your money on such things?
Game is horribly unbalanced. Really feels scammy. I got the free subscription for 2 weeks. Was able to build 1 semi competitive deck and still felt scammed play wise. Luck and rng are too much of a factor. Like more so then hearthstone. Its so bad i now play maybe 1 game while bored at work then just dont care anymore. Because that 1 game always is luck based with very little strategy. Oh i bricked and you flipped heads more cool game bro...
As a ftp player, you can pretty much get all the competitive decks through doing the multiple challenges and various ways to get free tickets. The part that will take a long time is getting the star rarity cards which are just basically blinged out versions of regular cards meaning you don’t need these super rare cards to have a competitive deck.
As this video reminded me, let this comment remind you to cancel your premium pass subscription free trial, as it probably ends today assuming you started it on day 1.
Another half-baked Pokemon app. I'm sure trading was a huge discussion, and the fact that it's missing just speaks for Pokemon looking to scrape up the dollar bills. I'm not expecting much in the future for this, but I do play casually and don't plan on spending a single penny on it at all. I prefer physical cards that actually have value.

20:34 no passing cards to the next generation 😔 or being buried w/ them 😅.
I really like the simplified card game. It’s quick enough to set up a new deck, and much faster gameplay. I don’t think it’s worth paying money for though.
I love the fact that the ad for this video was for Pokemon Pocket lol. They always win..
We can buy cards without scalpers taking them all to resell. I love the game but yes they are very harsh with pack hour glasses.
Let's face it, this app was made to generate money from children and adults with excess money, this was not meant for the actual average fan.
Spent 10 bucks. Have had 25 bucks worth of fun
8:24 😂 great quote
So much money and I can’t even get a damn Switch port of Gold/
Silver
Do you think monetary value will be there once they open up trades
I seen folks selling they accounts for $200 😴😴😴😴
For me its fun i collet as much i can without sending, also i like gen 1 style batle that they changed in Ex era, if you are smart, and don't spand on it, its ok game. Also its gate for people to get back into collecting real card sets, prices will definitivny be on the rise, i also thing that is the reason Surging spark is doing so fine right now
...
Let's be honest Pokémon the TCG is already baby's first card game duel regardless if it's TCG pocket.
Is that a hook ups hoodie? Few weeks in and I feel like I have a pretty good collection. Haven't spent any money. I see no rush to get these cards. I'm fine collecting at 2 packs a day.
Got an ad for it before the video started 😂
can't get every card if they plan to retire old packs or rotate them every so god knows when creating fomo.
I wonder if pornhub will ever bring in micro transactions and more importantly what will you get for them?
Candy Crush for Dudes who like Pokemon, ladies too and maybe kids
I love pocket. Shutup rattle 😂😂😂
Good thing I don’t pay for this lol
I like the game I already have 2 immersive cards with a bunch of Ars and I’m free to play.
It’s just doing the missions and not get addicted.
Haha now I wish they just reverse roll and let you redeem these cards in physical form
i agree with all your videos, but that dosent take into account all of the hourglasses you can get completing missions, i open 5 or 6 packs a day for free, i guess it takes years just opening the 2 packs a day
That is just not true.
To be fair irl pokemon TCG competitive decks are hella cheap.
Literally Pokemon pocket ad on this video lol
@jacobtorres7102 cuz their whiny babies more like it and don't like being told it's dumb? I'ma go with that also you hear, not here
@poke_hoard422 heres the thing.. no one cares what you think.. if they enjoy the game they enjoy it 🤣
Thanks for the reminder to open my daily Toilet Pack
been FTP almost done with the dex luck is just involved
I never spend money on games so I'll probably fall off the game quickly after I download this game
Just another pay to win mobile game. Once the game go offline. They can cry about it. Just like pokemon bank.😅
Nah I’m waiting for trading to become available. I’m not spending a dime
Finally someone that points this out
Anyone who spends thousands on a virtual tcg instead of a physical tcg has the IQ of a gnat. I'd love to be disproven about that, but it's straight fact.
If it wasn’t for Grandma Etsle getting me addicted to slot machines at 2 years old, I wouldn’t be spending so much money on this game.
@@chexcollects You're missing the point. Had you gambled on physical cards you'd have something that holds more value than a mobile game ever will over time.
Remember Pokemon GO? Same hype as this, made unfathomable amounts of money. Where's that game now? You playing it? Anyone you know playing it? What do you think is going to happen to this game?
Meme or not, your grandma isn't the problem here. You are.
@@adamarzo559 damn…
Every expense of money is a waste of money other than basic necessities. Why are you wearing new shirts and shoes? Those are wastes of money, that shirt has art on it which probably meant you payed more for it than a plain shirt, why are you wasting your money on such things?
ngl seeing these ppl spend so much on a mobile is crazy
Game is horribly unbalanced. Really feels scammy. I got the free subscription for 2 weeks. Was able to build 1 semi competitive deck and still felt scammed play wise. Luck and rng are too much of a factor. Like more so then hearthstone. Its so bad i now play maybe 1 game while bored at work then just dont care anymore. Because that 1 game always is luck based with very little strategy. Oh i bricked and you flipped heads more cool game bro...
It's not obvious it's a test for NFTs?
Pokemon is just NFTs y'all gonna lose money
As a ftp player, you can pretty much get all the competitive decks through doing the multiple challenges and various ways to get free tickets. The part that will take a long time is getting the star rarity cards which are just basically blinged out versions of regular cards meaning you don’t need these super rare cards to have a competitive deck.
What's the best it's going to be a wonder trade but matching star rarity
As this video reminded me, let this comment remind you to cancel your premium pass subscription free trial, as it probably ends today assuming you started it on day 1.
Buy Bitcoin instead
Another half-baked Pokemon app. I'm sure trading was a huge discussion, and the fact that it's missing just speaks for Pokemon looking to scrape up the dollar bills.
I'm not expecting much in the future for this, but I do play casually and don't plan on spending a single penny on it at all. I prefer physical cards that actually have value.
The TH-camrs that complain about pocket are just like the TH-camrs that complain about investing into Pokemon cards when there’s the stock market. If you like the card game spend money on it if you want these TH-camrs are becoming the thing they spoke against they have no sense of awareness
You can't spend real money on TCG Live
all you gotta do is play and you will get sought after cards for free
Idk what you are talking about they barely advertise the pay feature for this game 😅.. havent spent a penny on this game an it has yet to try pushing me to buy gold.. the game even saids "you dont need to spend money on this" 😅
It says you can buy gold on the button as soon as you can't open another pack.
@RattlePokemon in that small little text that most likely won't read 🤣... it gives you a prompt too on how much it cost but that's about it.. nothing pushy you can simply just back out of it
Hey. Can u do a video on the pokeking at one of the aoki events and hiw he handles the cards please? Event may be old but i feel it should be covered
You can buy individual cards with points from opening packs
We are allowed to sell rust skins and such why wouldn't you be able to resell this stuff too idk
ur
mad
Heres comes Rattle being a buzzkill again 😂
This isn't for adults anyway, it's for KIDS, dudes a mood killer, fun killer, ITS FOR KIDS
A mobile phone game is for kids? How many kids have mobile phones
@nah4215 all of them u idiot where u from lol
@nah4215 don't tell me your an adult freak too
It's "for the children" sure it is [wink]
@TheGoorru dam pedos
Your take is extremely biased and disingenuous. You exaggerate things you don’t like and dismiss things that hurt your argument. Longtime watcher, love your content but you’re better than this Rattle. You’re hating more than critiquing tbh
ITS A CHILDS GAME WEIRDO
Well tell that to.all the adults playing and trying to share their pretend cards in my Facebook group
@TheGoorru dude why u people listening to this guy, he doesn't even have fun, all he does is talk about buttholes lol I never seen rattle having fun, all he does is complain, enjoy the hobby have fun.
This shits so stupid to spend money on, even my 9yo who loves opening packs and knows it’s a big gamble. Said this game was weak af compared to opening and owning real cards lol
