Omg. Just this week, I was lamenting that I couldn't find any good information about when the island's grass and tree colors shifted so I could figure out what season I wanted to build for. And here you are! Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to show that information!

combining themes/aesthetics can also be really fun!! I've been slowly working on an island that transitions from beach/coastal town -> town/citycore -> forest. I've mostly been struggling with the towncore stuff because it isn't what I usually do (and I keep going back and forth on my color scheme)
Ahh I know this comment isn’t super new but I’ve been dying to combine all these too! Like coastal then outside town make it farmland, then mountains/forest. How is it going?
@@Jenny_Rose_ it's been going okay! I've been working on it off and on all summer but I don't have a spicy switch (or nintendo switch online) so getting items and bells, and making all my custom codes by hand is hard lol
Love this!!! I made a history themed island because I’m a history teacher and it was SO much fun to create. Find what you love and make your island based around that!
I want to use the purple and blue flowers, with an overall witchy and nature vibe. I also want to incorporate a bakery, tea shop, book nooks, moons and stars. I can kind of picture it already and have a list of cuties I'd love to have on my island. I just restarted so thank you for this video as it really helped me pin down a solid start!
My kids named the island "Barracuda" so we're going to make it a fishing/ beach vacation destination theme. We are still setting it up so its a work in progress. Personally I dont mind which villagers live in our town for now but if we can find villagers that like the fishing hobby that would be great. My husband's house will be kind of retro themed diner. This was a huge help thanks 🥰I think my next island is gonna be an ode to my D&D character, Myrcella! She's a Circle of spores druid, so I'll narrow down the theme to "Gothic Mushroom Swamp". So blacks, greens and browns with a lot of mushroom items and creepy decor.
Ok I will be watching this multiple times! I am at the same spot in my island I always end up getting overwhelmed and restarting…so many ideas but don’t know where to start… I like the idea to start with a list on paper and see where that takes me 😊
This really helped me find a theme. I would be doing a Supernatural Halloween island or just a Supernatural one. This really helped me. Now I can start to picture my island once it's finished.
My indecisiveness is really shining while trying to figure out what to do with my island. In 2020 i started playing for the first time and decided to build my island around the themes of each of my favorite villagers (so they would all have sections that had nothing to do with each other). I hardly got anywhere before taking a 2yr break and now I still can't decide on a single theme! I'm giving in and just including EVERYTHING even if it doesn't make sense: Italy, central park, alice in wonderland, winnie the pooh, movie theater, library, mario, sanrio, and much more... wish me luck that I go through with it after flattening all the work I did the first time.
My favorite thing to do in animal crossing is fish and grow my aquarium, so I love to pretend that I’m a marine biologist and that my island is known for its sea life. After seeing this video, I’d love to design my island with a beachy coastal town theme. Thanks for the inspo!
Gave me some awesome inspiration. I'll definitely be coming back to this video. I really want to do small Japanese suburban town and then maybe some countryside on the outskirts of the town. Idk why but I saw an island with the first theme once and it just gave me so many good feelings :']
I am making my first island in 2024, it’s also my first time playing any animal crossing game that I didn’t have to return by the end of the day. I think I want to loosely base the neighborhood area on my childhood home, so I think I’m gonna put a big forest behind the residents area, and then outside that I’ll put all the shops! I think I’ll probably not put in a school cuz I’m not really in that kind of headspace anymore? But maybe I’ll move the museum to where my school was!
I've been working on my second island and have been picking up tips while working through your Let's Play playlist. It's a nighttime island, hopefully with shooting stars in the DA. I'm focusing on yellow and blue with plenty of lights and glowing effects. I'm looking forward to a pathing video as I'm currently focusing on that.
We have chatted in stream a bit on my lack of theme on one of my islands. I thought I wanted to do tropicore, which I still may. I felt a little overwhelmed. So I moved all my villagers back to the beach or one area and am flattening the island. I have too many ideas to focus on so I was thinking multi-themed, but now don't know where to start. So once I flatten I think I will just make my island into 4 corners and start with one and see what happens there. I have found the center of my map and will use water to break it up.
The answers I gave to your prompts here really show me that I don't have a real theme in my heart, just vibes that I like. My preferred villager list is, to most people, a hodgepodge mess of weirdos (I like the cranky bearded hippo Harry, for example). And honestly, writing out the area ideas I have really, really helped me hone in the difference between "areas I'm impressed by when I see them on other islands" and "areas I think would be fun to have on my island". The thing I have the biggest challenge with is actually designing the liminal spaces so the areas I build flow together in a way that makes sense. Right now they kind of end up feeling disconnected.
This video was certainly a most for me! I started a new island and trying to start by decorating nook's and ables, because I still don't have my favs. But my biggest problem: where to put houses
holy heck... that is like all I can say to this! This was so well put together and thought-out, I love it. It might also really help me get further along with my forever island if I take those inspo steps in the order you mentioned them - make what I already have in mind flow smoother together.
I would like to call mine "store-core" because I have a bunch of flower shops; Clothing stores; food cafes or farmers markets; around my place, my main colors are yellow black and red! with white and gold on the side, my different villagers have different flowers outside of their houses to show their personalities too! and I have a lot of picnic areas so it sort of looks like there's a bunch of little Community spots.
I also have a tiny City area! but then the rest of the place has a bunch of run-down areas or Castle areas, I also have a statue Garden behind my house! I just love the medieval look!! and a bunch of fantasy Whimsical areas!
I always end up with so many little stores and shops!! I have a fruit-themed island, so Tangy has a smoothie shop, Lyman has a sherbet shop, Apple has an orchard with road-side fruit stand, next door to Bluebear's blueberry farm and stand, etc. etc.
This was so helpful! I've been wanting to get back into playing AC and this was just the inspiration I needed. I'm definitely thinking of a fall haunted forest theme! 🧡🖤 🤔
i’ve found this video super late after picking animal crossing up again for the first time in over a year, i’ve just flattened my island and i’m gonna do a japanese zen garden theme 💗 thank u sm for the tips im excited to make my island beautiful 🫶☺️
I think my new island theme is found now. Perfect for me to do is swampcore island bc I love waterscaping, maybe with wheat fields and yellow and white flowers 🤔
i just got so inspired by this roblox game omg i wanna do it kind of a mix between like a dreamy/fairycore aesthetic and then have a spot where its circus themed for pietro!! omg its gonna be adorable 💗
Awww what an amazing video! I love your approach to this, Malin! A lot of “island inspo” videos just showcase themes, whereas you go into detail to show how you can apply your interests, favourites and personality into any theme! My approach to island design is to work on the “opposite” of my last island theme. Currently, I’m on my 6th island. First Island - farmcore/forestcore Second Island - Desertcore Third Island - Winter island Fourth island - witchcore/swampcore Fifth island - pastel kidcore Sixth island - autumnal citycore There’s also an abandoned underwater island in there that I might come back to one day 🤣
I have been struggling to finish two islands for years ( I have a Switch Lite and a regular Switch). First island was a sort of "fairytale" style, and the second was going to be based on Brakebills from The Magicians. Now, I think I'm just going to start over and make the dark forest-witch theme island that I want so badly. Black, blue, purple, greens, maybe a bit of white for the flowers and set in summer for the dark green foliage.
Creating an island about a favorite TV series or a movie is such a good idea. It took me like a year to finally figure out, what kind of island I want to do and then finally had the idea to create a Doctor Who island. It's so much fun to figure out how to recreate scenes and ideas with the items that are in the game. One and a half years later I am still not finished but I also still have fun :D
i only started this game just over a month and i'm already so stumped on how to many my island pretty (to my liking) because there's just so much to do and i have lack of knowledge. this video helped me a bit but i feel like im so basic with ideas lmao
Colours: cooler(purples and blues mostly), black 100%, dark wooden colour(main colour probably) Season: autumn orange/red/dark green, tea olives Aesthetic: urban, European, galaxy/spacey, coastal, spooky/creepy. more focus on water. Hobbies: books, art, study, cooking, video games, wandering, tea/coffee time. More structure than nature Pathing: idk yet Codes: idk yet Items: elegant series, a lot of baked goods, books items, artwork, and Nordic series Villagers: I don’t care This is mine, enjoy.
I love this thanks! Just an hour ago my friend asked me what my ’island core’ was and i had no idea what that meant so i really quickly googled this vid and it helped alot!
Thank you so much! Ive ended up deciding to mix cottagecore, elefantcore, and mushcore in thst im going ti make an island based off of Victorian london and the elegantcore will be thr higher end part, the cottagecore will be the rural external area outside of london, and the mushcore area is going to be the slums and the villagers in thst area are hooked on... Mushrooms:)
Hii! I have decided on a pink & yellow pastel theme for my island… the only thing i’m struggling with is wether i should make it more natural or more city core? I think i’m going for a more natural look but I’m not sure… what do you think? I already have pathings for both themes! It’s so hard to choose 😖
hii i love ur videos!! this video is so helpful as i've been in a slump with my island theme! :) (this will be extremely long so thanks to whoever reads this for ur time LOL) colours : i'm trying to do a small-town shift into the forest vibe, so i think that browns, beige and generally just wood tones would work. i also want to have a lot of yellow, green and pinks. season : i'm mixed between spring and autumn - autumn has the gilmore girls vibes that i want (absolutely love that show) and the browns suit my aesthetic so well, but spring is so lively and gorgeous, and the flowers look stunning in that season. summer also has all of my main bushes grow, but i think autumn fits my vibe the most. aesthetic : i would love to have a small-town forest and coastal vibe all at once, I want the parts by the beach to be super inviting and pretty, and i want the main town area to feel alive and bright. the forest part, i want lots of trees and pathing to each home and to the inclines. i quite literally want the town to be stars hollow vibes. hobbies : i absolutely love going to the beach so i want my beaches to have a lot to do, i want to add a soccer field and a volleyball area with tables near it. ( i wish the villagers could actually PLAY volleyball tbh. ) i also love hiking, so i want my trails to be accessible and lively with flowers and designs. structure/pathing : i want a natural land with a lot of places to walk around, i've also been obsessed with the water tool so i've been adding lakes and rivers EVERYWHERE. i also prefer the land bridges over the actual bridge tool. i tend to use a lot of the more realistic codes, there's this one creator who's name i can't spell as it's in chinese (i think it's like ren in english though!) but their custom codes r AMAZING. items : i definitely want to use the azuyama (i think that's how it's spelt) gazebos and the wheat fields everywhere. i also want a lot of fruit trees and flowers everywhere to add pops of colour. villagers : i've pretty much got all of my dreamies because i was extremely lucky w my first island, but i'd love to have tangy, kiki or merry! even vivian would work well. most of my villagers have a blue and pink theme with their appearance, so i think another villager of those colours work. my fave villagers are definitely the deers. i can deffo picture the vibes, i'd love to make a moodboard in my free time. i don't really want a specific theme or aesthetic, i just want to do whatever i want and make it cohesive LOL! i'm also thinking of putting random graves everywhere to add a bit of 'wtf??' when people visit. thank u for the helpful video!!
Finally sat down and did an island- got to 3 stars, unlocked the power of landscaping, doing an autumn forest- So far it has the layout, the very last non-dreamy villager moving out, and the landscaping done- It's VERY landscaping heavy, played hide and seek with someone, counted the waterfalls in the single place I was at, and could count over 20 in that one little view, so- It'll probably need changing overtime to fit trees, but for now I'm determined to complete my first island
My theme was actually decided by my island name. I couldn’t think of a name, so I used a generator and it popped out Sugarpine, I loved that so much that I chose it and decided on a winter forest theme because of it!
For me my main item I wanted to get and use is crescent moon chairs along with the moon and froggy chairs I have also been trying to keep my island as natural as when I first started with little terraforming
Accidentally lost my five-star island transferring to a new switch, so this was serendipitous. I think I'll make my new island a Y2K- era small-town suburb with a tidy, organized town center and more messy, natural outskirts
My theme is Hotch potch. I have farm, zen garden with bath house, and a kinda small town city center. No overall color but I love the orange lilies but organ and white make me think of tn football
The only hobby that I've not the foggiest how one would be able to bring into Animal Crossing at all is one of my particular interests, martial arts. There is at least some that I could do for my interest in mythology by bringing in mythology-based villagers like Phoebe, Julian, or Drago. I even actually find Shino herself to be a possible mythical creature, as her being a peppy deer who is based on a Hannya mask brings to my mind that she could actually be a Kirin/Qilin rather than just a normal deer. Coco even wouldn't be too far off from a mythical villager as she seems in my mind to be a possessed Haniwa statue. A forest theme would be great for the mythical vibe, too. Might even possibly have vibes of a secluded, but still friendly place.
I had to abandon my latest island. I have 3 Switches with 3 physical copies of ACNH. I also have 3 Nintendo accounts. But I mistakenly used the same account for 2 islands. Well, 5 hours later and three calls to Nintendo, I was able to rectify the issue of "checking if software can be played." Even though I have 3 copies of the DLC! Lesson learned. My new island is Norse Mythologies. I've never had a them before. Since I found your channel I want to try. BTW, I'm amazed that you have no accent. My daughter-in-law has been in the US for nearly 30 years and I still have to listen carefully to understand, lol.
First time player here 🙋🏻♀️ I’m inspired by Old San Juan so wanted to make my own version. Made the blue bricks as a path and have it as my main road. Still at 2 stars though, but can’t wait to see if I’m able to pull it off.
I started an Aladdin themed island and created the cave of wonders and a market area... but then I lost motivation and couldn't think of anything else to build...
colors: pink, black, white season: cherry blossom/spring/summer aesthetic: cutesy/cottage core/goth hobbies: cooking, picnics, art, baking structure vs nature: structured layout, but naturey patching: find one to suit my theme (custom codes help) Pinterest: make Pinterest board for my island (Mood board) items: find specific items I wanna add to my island villagers: cutesy ones
Colours: I'm generally a warm girly!! So orange 🤔 Trees: dark bluey would work well with warm tones I think (complementary) On my first island I leaned towards natural, I've kinda wanted to make my island inspired by the world my OCs live in Hobbies: I like drawing (illustrations), reading comics, and learning languages 🤔, I could create settings inspired by backgrounds in comics? Idk I think it'd be cool to have like a city/village in the main flat bit, but foresty outskirts on the hills etc. I've always wanted to use the yachts yes xD My favourite villager is Raddle and I like generally more colourful/interesting looking villagers (doc, paolo)
Hey i have a quetion if i kinda ruined the island with placing roads everywhere and it needs lots of cleaning do i restart or should i remove all the roads and build aomething else cause there are parts on my island that are completly bad and i dont know what to do with them can you help me?
In that case I would say flattening is the better route. Because if you restart you will also have to play the entire beginning portion of the game again including building up your furniture catalog etc! 😢
@sparksby yeah I didn't restart I was working for the past week removing the streets and putting the zen fencing alot and the island needs improving but I fixed what's wrong
Im trying to work in a candy island. 🍬 super hard to work with but ive got my villagers and im slowly getting the items i need. I just finished my pirate island. 😅
i’m very late to this video but i’ve been thinking of starting my own ‘core’ (unless it already exists) using these colours: white, blue, soft yellow, soft pink, soft blue. and also items like the sanrio items (cinnamoroll specifically.) i think i’d name it ‘milkcore’ which sounds weird but it makes sense. it reminds me of when you eat fruit loops and the milk left over from the cereal tastes like the colours of the cereal (white being milk, red, blue and yellow *aka the colours im going for*) i’m rlly excited to get this going, i reset my island judt for this idea XD
I think my island is going to be sectioned into different themes using rivers with bridges to separate, and having the villagers best fitting a theme on my island live on the sections hehe
When I started my island I really had no idea what kind of direction I wanted to go in and I’ve looked up several Pinterest photos and such but I can never tell which is modded and which isn’t, I’d like some tips for decorating in base game or what to search for some inspiration. I would also like to know if the “moss jars” are a modded item or not I’m trying to go for either a 80s suburban town, a 70s hippie camp style or maybe even a forest/cottage core I’m not sure would love some help and tips 💕 Im also scared I made bad placements for villager houses and I’m concerned it’ll effect my building/designing Any path codes etc for when I get construction is also appreciated 🥰! 🖌️Thank you for the tips! Also who is the “coffee bird” I’ve been seeing in gameplays? Is there really a coffee shop in my foreseeable future ? 💕
i think my theme is one of the three: fallcore, kidcore or just normal rainbow-y theme. but this helped me SO much. Without this I would have prolly quit the game as a whole lol
I kind wanna do a food/candy land themed island at some point. I got Sprinkle and Merengue on my island really close together and I was like. How cute would it be to make my island like a giant candy shop or something. I dunno how well that would actually work, but it got my gears turning!
My island theme is Green black item colours Green black white flowers Dark green summer grass Dagobah (Star Wars planet search it up if you want) Buildings are randomly scattered across the island Ducks item every where Frog models every where Cave item Green wheat fields Areas Swamp 75% Ruined city 20% Abandoned farms 5% Any ideas?
For the villager part i have mroe than 10 favourites but some i have. but i have decided i will make an ostrich island cuz i like many of the ostriches!!!!!! :D
I have two different aesthetics I adore and it feels weird mixing them. But I want to make a cute island (with pink, yellow, blue and purple flowers) but it has random missing signs all around for Mothman.
- pink, red, orange, purple, white - spring/summer (but i enjoy playing all year round!) - natural/floral/forest - would quite like to try a flat island? - cooking/gardening - pretty structured - FLOWER CART 😍 - no
I've been playing off and on since day 1 and I've never finished an island. I've got some serious indecisiveness when it comes to creativity. It also doesn't help that I can't stand lag. Lag once in a while that's like a hiccup is fine, but not every time I visit an area. I've had to tear down full builds because they begin to get laggy.
Going to write all this here for future me. just got a new Oled switch, the colors are absolutely amazing and it makes the whole game feel much richer. For my new main switch, I want to make my true forever island. (My old switch will be used for other projects) I plan on being quite strict on myself limiting what I view as cheating (just my opinion, play however makes you happy. I personally enjoy taking things slow) I will Not time travel out of a month long period, and only time travel if I see a real reason to. Try to avoid it if possible and Only use treasure islands for nmt, customisation kits, and diy recipes Since my island is going to be a constantly evolving thing that changes with the seasons, it’s hard to pick a set palette of colors. But my favourite colors are pink purple and blue. I feel like blue during the winter, pink in the spring, and a mix of all three In summer would be fun. Idk what to do for fall.. probably yellow. I want my island to have a balance of developed and wild places. I’ve always struggled with making suburban areas in ac. Probably because the game is so much more suited towards that wild feeling. But it’ll be a fun challenge! I’ve never had a 5 star island, so that is the main goal. Wish me luck :)
“You could use a show or book you like as a reference 😊” Me: Say no more *Fills Island with broccolis, atomic bombs and Pikachus* (comment if you get the reference ✊😔)
I've just restarted my island and I decided to name it Honeybay, which is planned to be a island with all of my favourite colours and villagers on it with each villages yard being based on hobbies ai enjoy doing. Any ideas or villager suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I restart a lot, I think I just get bored or I'm never satysfied with where my island is going at the time so I restart instead of trying to work on it lol. But restarting has giving me the opprotunity to try out a lot of themes. I even have a wheel spinner with a list of themes on it to pick for me, it helps me try new things. Right now I have two islands one is a swamps island, my second one is a surburban island with a HOA cult that makes blood sacrifices and their residents msteriously disappears if they break one of the HAO rules ...ya know just normal acnh themes. 🙃👀

If you need more houses or if your doing city core you could add more accounts onto your island and then make it look more like a city
I'm working on a vinatage-y cottagecore island with a sprinkle of fairycore and also a spooky dark forest, it's going to be so much fun!

I would like to call mine "store-core"
because I have a bunch of flower shops;
Clothing stores; food cafes or farmers markets; around my place,
my main colors are yellow black and red! with white and gold on the side,
my different villagers have different flowers outside of their houses to show their personalities too!
and I have a lot of picnic areas so it sort of looks like there's a bunch of little Community spots.
I also have a tiny City area!
but then the rest of the place has a bunch of run-down areas or Castle areas,
I also have a statue Garden behind my house!
i'm right now looking at putting in a theme .. i've been playing for 9 months and i am ready to make it nice.. thanks!
Such good timing, desperately looking for a new theme!
i’ve found this video super late after picking animal crossing up again for the first time in over a year, i’ve just flattened my island and i’m gonna do a japanese zen garden theme 💗 thank u sm for the tips im excited to make my island beautiful 🫶☺️
Vomit grass took me out😂 way too accurate
Warm and cold
Spring
Coastal/Village
Drawing and reading
I think my new island theme is found now. Perfect for me to do is swampcore island bc I love waterscaping, maybe with wheat fields and yellow and white flowers 🤔
i just got so inspired by this roblox game omg
i wanna do it kind of a mix between like a dreamy/fairycore aesthetic and then have a spot where its circus themed for pietro!! omg its gonna be adorable 💗
This is great - I have such a hard time coming up with a theme - I think I am too ‘norm core’
Thanks for this tutorial kinda video. It helped me not only get an idea but an entire story line and also a nice looking island
Good morning have a nice day wonderfull uploading

Awww what an amazing video! I love your approach to this, Malin! A lot of “island inspo” videos just showcase themes, whereas you go into detail to show how you can apply your interests, favourites and personality into any theme!
My approach to island design is to work on the “opposite” of my last island theme. Currently, I’m on my 6th island.
First Island - farmcore/forestcore
Second Island - Desertcore
Third Island - Winter island
Fourth island - witchcore/swampcore
Fifth island - pastel kidcore
Sixth island - autumnal citycore
There’s also an abandoned underwater island in there that I might come back to one day 🤣
This is such a helpful video! Thanks Malin!!
I'm going for a run down race track theme and this helped a ton for getting a good idea of what I want to do with the island
Im going to do a city nature vibe with street lights, vending machines and a nature path and lots of plants. 😁
Creating an island about a favorite TV series or a movie is such a good idea. It took me like a year to finally figure out, what kind of island I want to do and then finally had the idea to create a Doctor Who island. It's so much fun to figure out how to recreate scenes and ideas with the items that are in the game. One and a half years later I am still not finished but I also still have fun :D
i only started this game just over a month and i'm already so stumped on how to many my island pretty (to my liking) because there's just so much to do and i have lack of knowledge. this video helped me a bit but i feel like im so basic with ideas lmao
thank you! this video helped me come to the conclusion of building a celestial island!
Colours: cooler(purples and blues mostly), black 100%, dark wooden colour(main colour probably)
Season: autumn orange/red/dark green, tea olives
Aesthetic: urban, European, galaxy/spacey, coastal, spooky/creepy. more focus on water.
Hobbies: books, art, study, cooking, video games, wandering, tea/coffee time.
More structure than nature
Pathing: idk yet
Codes: idk yet
Items: elegant series, a lot of baked goods, books items, artwork, and Nordic series
Villagers: I don’t care
This is mine, enjoy.
i decided to combine some of my favorite things, so im making a fairycore christmas island!
I love this thanks! Just an hour ago my friend asked me what my ’island core’ was and i had no idea what that meant so i really quickly googled this vid and it helped alot!
That's awesome! I'm glad it helped! ❤
THANK U SM
This is such a pleasant and inspiring video 😭🌷✨💗 I love it, ty!
You could try half natural half city hope this helps!
Planning to do an autumn/Halloween theme! Thank you for this video! 🤎
I’m gonna try and do a fairy core island I think with lots of pink hyacinths as they’re my favourite flower
hii i love ur videos!! this video is so helpful as i've been in a slump with my island theme! :)
(this will be extremely long so thanks to whoever reads this for ur time LOL)
colours : i'm trying to do a small-town shift into the forest vibe, so i think that browns, beige and generally just wood tones would work. i also want to have a lot of yellow, green and pinks.
season : i'm mixed between spring and autumn - autumn has the gilmore girls vibes that i want (absolutely love that show) and the browns suit my aesthetic so well, but spring is so lively and gorgeous, and the flowers look stunning in that season. summer also has all of my main bushes grow, but i think autumn fits my vibe the most.
aesthetic : i would love to have a small-town forest and coastal vibe all at once, I want the parts by the beach to be super inviting and pretty, and i want the main town area to feel alive and bright. the forest part, i want lots of trees and pathing to each home and to the inclines. i quite literally want the town to be stars hollow vibes.
hobbies : i absolutely love going to the beach so i want my beaches to have a lot to do, i want to add a soccer field and a volleyball area with tables near it. ( i wish the villagers could actually PLAY volleyball tbh. )
i also love hiking, so i want my trails to be accessible and lively with flowers and designs.
structure/pathing : i want a natural land with a lot of places to walk around, i've also been obsessed with the water tool so i've been adding lakes and rivers EVERYWHERE. i also prefer the land bridges over the actual bridge tool. i tend to use a lot of the more realistic codes, there's this one creator who's name i can't spell as it's in chinese (i think it's like ren in english though!) but their custom codes r AMAZING.
items : i definitely want to use the azuyama (i think that's how it's spelt) gazebos and the wheat fields everywhere. i also want a lot of fruit trees and flowers everywhere to add pops of colour.
villagers : i've pretty much got all of my dreamies because i was extremely lucky w my first island, but i'd love to have tangy, kiki or merry! even vivian would work well. most of my villagers have a blue and pink theme with their appearance, so i think another villager of those colours work. my fave villagers are definitely the deers.
i can deffo picture the vibes, i'd love to make a moodboard in my free time. i don't really want a specific theme or aesthetic, i just want to do whatever i want and make it cohesive LOL! i'm also thinking of putting random graves everywhere to add a bit of 'wtf??' when people visit. thank u for the helpful video!!
thanks for the tips!!!
love this video it helps alot i chose flower colors black and blue
I'm trying to build a towncore in the front and farmcore in the back but I don't know how I want to transition that theme
I’m doing an overgrown abandoned city that was restored into a cyberpunk theme so basically something like stray the cat game
I’m doing part rural-abandoned and part city japanese island!
Accidentally lost my five-star island transferring to a new switch, so this was serendipitous.
I think I'll make my new island a Y2K- era small-town suburb with a tidy, organized town center and more messy, natural outskirts
"are the any specific items you've always been wanting to use?" me: ....japanese vending machine-chan EVERYWHERE
My island is just a collage of my favorite things. We got all the references ❤❤❤
I started an Aladdin themed island and created the cave of wonders and a market area... but then I lost motivation and couldn't think of anything else to build...
Yo it’s not bad or anything of I just have an island but it don’t got a theme really right?
colors: pink, black, white
season: cherry blossom/spring/summer
aesthetic: cutesy/cottage core/goth
hobbies: cooking, picnics, art, baking
structure vs nature: structured layout, but naturey
patching: find one to suit my theme
(custom codes help)
Pinterest: make Pinterest board for my island
(Mood board)
items: find specific items I wanna add to my island
villagers: cutesy ones
Colours: I'm generally a warm girly!! So orange 🤔
Trees: dark bluey would work well with warm tones I think (complementary)
On my first island I leaned towards natural, I've kinda wanted to make my island inspired by the world my OCs live in
Hobbies: I like drawing (illustrations), reading comics, and learning languages 🤔, I could create settings inspired by backgrounds in comics? Idk
I think it'd be cool to have like a city/village in the main flat bit, but foresty outskirts on the hills etc.
I've always wanted to use the yachts yes xD
My favourite villager is Raddle and I like generally more colourful/interesting looking villagers (doc, paolo)
So far the theme or idea I'm planning for is almost a modern medieval world built on top of or around the ruins of Greco-Roman Mediterranean
thank you for telling me to take notes lol that really helped
i’m very late to this video but i’ve been thinking of starting my own ‘core’ (unless it already exists) using these colours: white, blue, soft yellow, soft pink, soft blue. and also items like the sanrio items (cinnamoroll specifically.) i think i’d name it ‘milkcore’ which sounds weird but it makes sense. it reminds me of when you eat fruit loops and the milk left over from the cereal tastes like the colours of the cereal (white being milk, red, blue and yellow *aka the colours im going for*) i’m rlly excited to get this going, i reset my island judt for this idea XD
I would also like to know if the “moss jars” are a modded item or not
I’m trying to go for either a 80s suburban town, a 70s hippie camp style or maybe even a forest/cottage core I’m not sure would love some help and tips 💕
Im also scared I made bad placements for villager houses and I’m concerned it’ll effect my building/designing
Any path codes etc for when I get construction is also appreciated 🥰!
🖌️Thank you for the tips!
Also who is the “coffee bird” I’ve been seeing in gameplays? Is there really a coffee shop in my foreseeable future ? 💕
i think my theme is one of the three:
fallcore, kidcore or just normal rainbow-y theme.
but this helped me SO much.
My island theme is Green black item colours
Green black white flowers
Dark green summer grass
Dagobah (Star Wars planet search it up if you want)
Buildings are randomly scattered across the island
Ducks item every where
Frog models every where
Cave item
Green wheat fields
Areas
Swamp 75%
Ruined city 20%
Abandoned farms 5%
Any ideas?
For the villager part i have mroe than 10 favourites but some i have. but i have decided i will make an ostrich island cuz i like many of the ostriches!!!!!! :D
I have two different aesthetics I adore and it feels weird mixing them. But I want to make a cute island (with pink, yellow, blue and purple flowers) but it has random missing signs all around for Mothman.
- pink, red, orange, purple, white
- spring/summer (but i enjoy playing all year round!)
- natural/floral/forest
- would quite like to try a flat island?
- cooking/gardening
- pretty structured
- FLOWER CART 😍
- no
Help I can’t chose between jungle core and cottage core
Cottagecore, due to the fact that the whole aesthetic is themed to nature, forests and flowers
I can't decide on a theme but I've been trying to settle but it's hard xD
Going to write all this here for future me.
just got a new Oled switch, the colors are absolutely amazing and it makes the whole game feel much richer. For my new main switch, I want to make my true forever island. (My old switch will be used for other projects)
I plan on being quite strict on myself limiting what I view as cheating (just my opinion, play however makes you happy. I personally enjoy taking things slow) I will
Not time travel out of a month long period, and only time travel if I see a real reason to. Try to avoid it if possible and Only use treasure islands for nmt, customisation kits, and diy recipes
Since my island is going to be a constantly evolving thing that changes with the seasons, it’s hard to pick a set palette of colors.
I kinda wanted to do a mish-mash of ascetics since I still can’t decide what to theme it 😂😂
Tropical, swamp / Natural , ...I'm still kinda lost but it helps a lil
i think i’ll do a multi themed or multi seasoned because i’m indecisive and get bored by one theme easily and struggle to make one theme so big
When pedro and dom are ur vibe but so are coco and shep:
just got 5 stars!
i my island has resturant, soccer, art, farm, camp, and outerspace areas
ty. im getting acnh tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and have NO idea for my island .. so ty
“You could use a show or book you like as a reference 😊”
Me: Say no more *Fills Island with broccolis, atomic bombs and Pikachus*
(comment if you get the reference ✊😔)
I've just restarted my island and I decided to name it Honeybay, which is planned to be a island with all of my favourite colours and villagers on it with each villages yard being based on hobbies ai enjoy doing. Any ideas or villager suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I want to do a medieval or Viking theme with cold colours
Pink, white, purple
Small town cottage
Picnics, markets, beaches, gardens
Shopping districts and suburbs
Orchard
11 October (notes)
Warm flowers
Small town vibe
I restart a lot, I think I just get bored or I'm never satysfied with where my island is going at the time so I restart instead of trying to work on it lol. But restarting has giving me the opprotunity to try out a lot of themes. I even have a wheel spinner with a list of themes on it to pick for me, it helps me try new things. Right now I have two islands one is a swamps island, my second one is a surburban island with a HOA cult that makes blood sacrifices and their residents msteriously disappears if they break one of the HAO rules ...ya know just normal acnh themes. 🙃👀
