My favorite building tip is to use the fruit trick to be able to have several different sizes of trees, not just different types. It really helps make your island more detailed without having to mix different tree types if you don't really want to. Fruit Trick: You can plant a fruit (not a coconut or bamboo shoot, just fruits that turn into fruit trees like apples, peaches, etc.) in the tile next to a tree that isn't fully grown in order to prevent it from growing any further, effectively stunting it. In this way, you can have small cedars, little lollipop hardwoods, etc. that look great alongside fully grown trees. I prefer to plant the fruits directly behind my trees, so they're not as visible. But if you don't mind the look of nursery trees, you can have them next to or in front of your stunted trees.
I have a patch of land on my island that I have fenced off and use for a pumpkin patch between Oct. 1-Nov. 30 and a tree farm between Dec. 1-Dec. 31. When not in use, I will put a for rent sign near it.
thats really cool and similar to what i do with my entrance. I usually have a table and themed items related to time of year (alot of my seasonal items go there like toy day, halloween etc) Springtime you could do a plant farm, summer do a beach supply store?
@@skatersurfersnowboarder3545 I mean, I already have a plant farm in my villager's neighborhood and one of the player homes I set up as a beach supply/fishing store on the middle floor, the attic as the character's living quarters, and basement as a miniature seafood restaurant.
20:23 Bob’s Gang! Great ideas & good points made! I had several jock personality villagers before so made basketball court, soccer field, & an outdoor gym. But I’ve recently changed villagers so was looking to redecorate these large areas! Thanks again for the ideas!
I finally got back to playing after a few months, and i got around to working on my island again--I want this to be my LAST island, since ive reset my islands around 10-11 times due to being dissatisfied 😭😭 very cool ideas, ill see about implementing these on my own little oasis
10:04 here's a tip about this: It's not actually bee hives that you can turn around to make a small house, it's actually dog houses. Also you could just use doll houses.
This was great - good ideas which follow onto my question... So, until recently, I only had Animal Crossing - New Leaf. Now, I didn't get New Horizons, because, at the time, the Switch was too expensive. Now I'm wondering - should I buy a Switch Lite and New Horizons, or should I wait for the new game, which is apparently predicted for the coming year or 2025? Bob's Gang!
Depends! How long do you want to wait?! If you can get the animal crossing switch lite set, that's a good deal! It is usually the game included for the same price as the switch lite normally is. If you get the switch lite, are you going to buy both the new system and the new game when it comes out? I'd think about money. The new system will be at least 400, like the last one and the game will be probably 50-60. You could get the switch OLED and the game now, then when the new version comes out, only buy the game. That may be the smartest option. You'll have the most up to date game system behind the new release.
I love the outdoor shops but really didnt have space on my island nor did it go well with my theme. So i used a second player and upgraded their house and turned it into a shopping mall! Has a bookstore, pizza place, a general indoor plaza entrance themed to whatever is happening (toy day/ new years) and a few other little goodies Its so fun cuz it doesnt take up too much space and I can actually go inside it and walk around
Your paths are cute but they give me the worst cluster-phobia feelings. Too tight and cramped with too much stuff above me lol. Very cute for your island though I do love your island.
i’ve had the game for so long and i never fully played it all i would do is get the seasonal items and log off for months to a whole year and repeat but this time im dedicated to
Started a new island on my new Switch, only making another because my main island has set villagers which I made gardens to match with them. My new island I want to be able to have villagers come and go when I'm in the mood for different villagers.
You use the custom design editor. Theres a "color" you can select thats blank so it shows the patterns of whatever floor scape you put them on surrounding your designs.
@Mark_Hawkins-33 you can look up people's custom design codes online and on TH-cam. A lot of people share them for you to use flooring designs on your island. I just downloaded one that someone built that looked like a pool and patio to make a waterside and poolside patio. You go to ables clothing shop and use the kiosk to search them by user or by design code. You have to be far enough into the game to have the custom design editor though
It’s an optional add-on called Happy Home Paradise to the game you can buy in which you have an “archipelago” which I believe is like a satellite island that gives you villager homes to decorate. It gives you more items and the ability to decorate villager homes as you please on your own island. I’ve not bought it myself, but that’s my understanding of it!
Using a second account on the same switch does not let u make a new island but it will allow you to bring a second player onto your island. You can use the second player and design their home as well as do pretty much anything the first player can
This is really really good! Thanks for sharing these tips it’s given me lots of ideas for my island! I’d love it if you’d check out my let’s play and share your thoughts on what i could do with it :)

if u decide to get acnh, i wouldnt get a lite. youll come to find that the regular switch is soooo much better. the lite can still get drift and its much harder to counter than on the regular switch. that being said, if u join the community we will welcome u with open arms :)
This is perfect! I’ve just reset my island as a result of creative block and this is just what I need to get started again!
Noooo
I just got a Nintendo light cause I was mooching off my brothers and I got animal crossing so it helps me too lol
@@MazPlayzzAYEE same I was watching Zackscott play it at first then I saw my cousin had it and I finally have it! What’s ur island like ^^

I love that.
I'm trying to collect all the fake art to make a 'maze of fakes' you have to walk through to get to the museum 😂
I love a lot of the ideas on your island, Bob's Gang!
how did you do that emoji😮😮

I’ve been struggling on filling my island. I’ve had a few good ideas myself. This video is perfect! Thank you sir!
During Covid everyone I knew was playing ACNH and exchanging and selling on nookazon, now we are back to work hardly anyone has been back on the game

Im in the boat of wanting to get a second switch just for a new island 😂
I cant bare to get rid of my OG island, ive been playing on it since launch.
i would have never thought of some of these ideas! even though i have had my island for 2 years, i still learn new things!
This video has made me realise how boring my island is I wish I had the talent to do the waterfall things and the entrance ❤ bobs gang
I wish this game had 1st person view
I mean you can kinda do that with the camera but yeah same. Or just to be able to move the camera around like you can in your home
11:16 I love this! I’ve actually done this which is perfect because my island is 1967-69 themed! So The Beach Boys definitely stop by 😂
I've been doing lots of terraforming lately and I made this waterfall tower with flowers 💐
I made new users on my island even though I'm the only one playing so I can make more shops and apartments or hotels.
I’m currently stuck trying to figure out where to move all the villager houses. Contemplating whether to have them elevated or how to organize them. 😭

Island theme idea: medieval kind of vibe with Cc castle walls and a kingdom inside
Thanks for your ideas. I like the painting area on the beach. Bob’s Gang
Yes um I did need this sooner and I love you're channel tysm for the ideas😊
I saved the video for my island that I'm currently flattening

Hello, always love to look at other players islands. Great for new ideas! 💡 😊
Do you have a DA for your island? I'd live to walk around it.
Love so many of these! Bob's gang
I paused it at 8:05 and I'm trying to re create it I will open my gates now so if you want to see it you can ❤ bobs gang

Hay bro. Tip. Make a different account on your switch . And just play the new island with the new account.
it’s only one island per switch i’m pretty sure
Using a second account on the same switch does not let u make a new island but it will allow you to bring a second player onto your island. You can use the second player and design their home as well as do pretty much anything the first player can
It’ll still be the same island but with an extra house. One switch one island

No need to buy a new switch, just make a 2nd Nintendo account.
Doesn’t that just make you another player on the same island?
Omg
