I absolutely adore Patti Smith Seen her in concert more than any other artist and she is mesmerizing. Love, love, love Cindy and so does my canary Dusty. He's singing his little lungs out to this! He seems to love certain vocal tones and not others. She adds spice to any song she does with her unique interpretations and personality. She can be dramatic or just plain old fun and her voice can be so powerful. You've given me the inspiration to listen to some Cindy tonight. Her Best of CD, "Twelve Deadly Cyns". May you have all you wish for in 2025.
@susieq9801 Hi Linda, that is adorable that your bird loves Cyndi. She does have a cool voice. I saw her just recently in Toronto and she was still amazing and so very funny. She is great. Enjoy the cd. Happy New Year to you too my friend...wishing you nothing but the best 🥰💗
My favourite Cindi song! Love the video too. 2nd fav is True Colours. I had forgotten Roy Orbison had a version of this song. But it made me think of a request. KD Lang and Roy Orbison, Crying. It’s soo good. I always liked the original song, but once they added the vocals of KD Lang, it’s perfection. Great reaction Sue!!
Fantastic ! .. My fave by Cyndi, and a great vehicle ( excuse the pun😉) for her amazing vocal range .. As you said, Sue, she is so strong and confident in both her lower and higher registers .. She also injects a lot of sensuality into her delivery .. Highlights for me are that sublime flip into falsetto shortly after the instrumental and the incredibly long, high and flexible ending note.
@wayne_twentyfive Hi Wayne, I am so glad I hit your favourite. I lived you pun...you really drove it home...se what I did there haha 🤪🤣 You are right that last note is off the charts great. Her voice is incredible 🤩💜
the 2nd single / video from this album was My First Night Without You. it was another vocal showcase showdown but the single did not chart very well. I believe there were two more songs/videos released from this album but they charted better in the UK (Heading West and the title track, A Night to Remember). The only two to chart on US Billboard were I drove all night and my first night without you. Have you checked out Change of Heart or her version of What's Going On or Boy Blue?
I love Cindi Her first 2 albums , She Bop and True Colors are classics This song is off he 3rd album A Night to Remember I think I have heard every version of this song they are all good which just proves it hard to mess up a Great Song It was written by same team that wrote True Colors ; Bill Steinberg and Tom Kelly Just looking at their body of work is amazing
The story was that Orbinson didn't like the recording so it was only released on a memorial album after he had passed. Celine Dion's version is good, but the EDM arangement behind it is kind of meh. Of course I'm a simp for Cyndi, she's simply the best there is. I recently saw her farewell tour in Portland, she hasn't lost a thing. The intro is the first half of a song called "Kindred Spirit" that is reprised in full at the end of the album. It's kind of a love note to fans, or at least I interpet it that way. Gets me every time.
Hey Breck, thanks for tuning in and commenting. I agree. Cyndi is the bomb. Her version of this is fantastic. Thanks for letting me know what the beginning of the song is called. I will definitely do more of her stuff 😀🩵
Do Cyndi as the 2013 Tony Winner for Best Musical - Kinky Boots The Musical. "The Sex is in the Heel" or "Land of Lola" or "Raise You Up/ Just Be" good videos available of the West End production.
@playitagainsue just remember that the backup dancers are all men. One of the conditions Cyndi had was everyone had to be able to wear the boots since the finale the cast is on stage in a pair of the stilettos. Love the novel and the 2005 movie that the musical is based on.
I love her voice! Never knew that she did this song though, I enjoyed it, I love the way she plays up to the camera.
@@kimr3729 Great point, Kim. She put on a great performance here. She is fabulous 🥰💗
Hi Sue. Never knew Cyndi Lauper did a version of this song. I really only knew Celine Dions version. I like this one as well. ❤️🇦🇺
Hey Judy, it is a great song. Yes Celine's is good too. I am so glad you got to hear Cyndi's version. She is terrific 🥰

@@playitagainsue - She reminds me a bit of Bette Midler for personality and ability.
@@playitagainsue - PS, I know you reacted to the Osmonds once. Wayne Osmond had a stroke and passed away.
@susieq9801 oh that is sad. When did that happen
@susieq9801 Great comparison.. both very funny and extremely talented 🤗💕

Cyndi has a magnificent voice, this is a great song. Roy Orbison does a very good version too. I’ve never heard Celine Dion’s version though
