I do love Cyndi but i agree with other comments that i prefer Roy's version but its a close call.

Oh very nice, some scottish folk rock. Such a huge back catalogue of music from this singer songwriter, but I think everyone just knows him from the year of the cat. He has also worked with some of the biggest names in the folk scene, doesnt get the recognition he deserves IMO.

I love her voice! Never knew that she did this song though, I enjoyed it, I love the way she plays up to the camera.

I love Cindi Her first 2 albums , She Bop and True Colors are classics This song is off he 3rd album A Night to Remember I think I have heard every version of this song they are all good which just proves it hard to mess up a Great Song It was written by same team that wrote True Colors ; Bill Steinberg and Tom Kelly Just looking at their body of work is amazing

Love, love, love Cindy and so does my canary Dusty. He's singing his little lungs out to this! He seems to love certain vocal tones and not others. She adds spice to any song she does with her unique interpretations and personality. She can be dramatic or just plain old fun and her voice can be so powerful. You've given me the inspiration to listen to some Cindy tonight. Her Best of CD, "Twelve Deadly Cyns". May you have all you wish for in 2025.

Fantastic ! .. My fave by Cyndi, and a great vehicle ( excuse the pun😉) for her amazing vocal range .. As you said, Sue, she is so strong and confident in both her lower and higher registers .. She also injects a lot of sensuality into her delivery .. Highlights for me are that sublime flip into falsetto shortly after the instrumental and the incredibly long, high and flexible ending note.

Cyndi has a magnificent voice, this is a great song. Roy Orbison does a very good version too. I’ve never heard Celine Dion’s version though

My favourite Cindi song! Love the video too. 2nd fav is True Colours. I had forgotten Roy Orbison had a version of this song. But it made me think of a request. KD Lang and Roy Orbison, Crying. It’s soo good. I always liked the original song, but once they added the vocals of KD Lang, it’s perfection. Great reaction Sue!!

Yes Sue, this is quite a nice song, although for some reason it gives me a slightly sad vibe despite the happy lyrics .. Perhaps it's because of the somewhat reflective feel of the music, which can often bring up mixed feelings in me .. I've heard her name a number of times, but didn't know any of her stuff, so I checked out a few songs .. She's quite easy to listen to.

Don't know much about this band and every song I've ever heard has been from a YT reaction. The few song that I've heard of theirs were very impressive. Really loved this song as well and the girl vocalist rocked it.

Great song and I believe the band was huge in Russia. I remember seeing a concert style tv show of the band performing in Russia, which at the time was a big deal (cold war). A buddy of mine is a big fan of the group and whenever he comes over it's like "Play some Boney M".

First listen as well for me. I've heard the name Ian Moss and he does look familiar but for the most part I don't know anything about his music. Enjoyed the song and liked the guitar solo. For the most part the song felt like a cookie cutter song from the 80's.

I visited friends in Moscow last year and this song was being blasted all over the loudspeakers in Red Square. I’m told that Boney M is wildly popular in Russia.

This is a very sweet sound, I like her voice, and I'm picturing her sitting playing the piano as she sings. Never heard of her before! Apparently she is a Russian born American. That could explain the accent that can sometimes be heard. Really nice and gentle.

Sue , Thank You Happy New Year I’m so happy you are introducing this song to others She has another song called New Year which is also beautiful ( and a little bittersweet ) NYE can be different for everyone and I think the sounds on the track add a sense of uncertainty that we all greet a New Year with. Are they gunshots or fireworks are these just the sounds on New York on New Year’s Eve ? Regina ( not like the Canadian city ) is from Russia but came to New York are A young girl She was a staple of East Village scene in early 2000’s I think you should explore more and her songs Better , Fidelity or Samson are 3 to start with She reminds me of Tori Amos in looks and she also preforms mostly on piano As for the song itself Peggy Lee version is pretty straight version and I’m amazed it is not a staple for this time of year

Great reaction! When listening to their new songs, you can either go all in and do the full album, or you can do the singles first in ieder of their release (The Emptiness Machine, Heavy Is The Crown, Over Each Other, Two Faced). You can't really go wrong with both their old and new music, so enjoy your new rabbit hole! Also, if you like hard rock, might wanna give The Warning a go. I'd start with Hell You Call A Dream (live at the Pepsi Center) or Evolve (live at MTV VMA 2023). 😊

This was the album when people who didn't even love M finally respected her. It's a great album and her BEST unreleased tracks and demos are from this era: Revenge, Like A Flower, Gone gone gone. Look them up! Has To Be is one of her most beautiful b sides, too. One thing most people don't know is Ray of Light-- the song-- isn't really hers. Sampled from a 70s song.

Fun, typically catchy Boney M number ! .. interestingly, about a year later in 1979, the German group Dschinghis Khan ( known as Genghis Khan in Australia ) had a hit with another very catchy Russian sounding ( but sung in German ) song called "Moskau" ( "Moscow" ) .. They also released an English version of it which was huge in Oz, staying at No.1 for 6 weeks .. We used it as the theme music for our coverage of the 1980 Moscow Olympics .. But outside of Europe and Australia, I don't think it charted significantly anywhere else .. Check out both versions if you get some time, Sue .. But I have to warn you, it's a real ear-worm !😊

I only knew a few of Linkin Park's songs when they had Chester, and they were all quite listenable, even if they're not the thing I would play a lot of .. Similarly, this new singer, did a very good job here, and I enjoyed it.

I'm so happy a person who knows nothing of Linkin Park enjoys their new music so much. ♥️ To get into this properly you need an overview of their history. The guy that sings in this song is the founder of the band Mike Shinoda who is the main songwriter, producer, and co-vocalist. He's been the mastermind behind all of it. He formed the band with some friends in 1996 under the name Xero. A great talent named Chester Bennington joined as new lead vocalist after and led them to unbelievable success with their first studio album in 2000. With their second album in 2003 they became a world-class band. They released 7 studio albums over 17 years but in July 2017 Chester Bennington took his own life after years of fighting depression... 😞 Chester was not only a great vocalist but one of the kindest human beings in music. His songs and lyrics had deep genuine impact on people because he always expressed his OWN emotions, struggles or pain while singing. Chester's passing devastated the whole world like no other celebrity had ever done. Millions of people (including me) felt this loss personally. As a result Linkin Park went to a 7-year hiatus as nobody believed they can EVER continue without Chester - he had become an irreplaceable legend. On the 5th of September 2024 the band privately invited their closest fans without telling them any details and held a 1-hour concert that was streamed live to the world. Everyone was shocked as they started directly with this new song "The Emptiness Machine" and unexpectedly brought their new vocalist on stage. Her name is Emily Armstrong and in the last 15+ years she had her own band called Dead Sara and created great music but unfortunately they did not manage to grow big and famous enough. Linkin Park also announced a brand new album called "From Zero" and released it on November 15th. If you are about to start a journey with the band, I suggest going through their different styles with songs from each album: 1. In The End (Official Video) - their biggest song ever ("Hybrid Theory", 2000) 2. Numb (Official Video) - second best with over 2 billion views ("Meteora", 2003) 3. "From Zero" full album - the fresh music they created together It's up to you how deep you want to go into Linkin Park but I can assure you it's a life-changing experience. Great reaction! Since you said you don't know much about this band, I'll just add a bit of info. In 2017, Linkin Park's lead vocalist Chester Bennington unfortunately passed away, and the band then went on a hiatus until September 5th of this year, when they announced a new singer (Emily Armstrong), new drummer (Colin Brittain) with a new album and a world tour. This was the first song that they released with that comeback. I think it's a spectacular comeback, one of the best executed in the music industry, which is only all the more impressive because the shoes of Chester are pretty much impossible to fill. However, Emily is doing an amazing job, and I'm definitely looking forward to what else this new chapter has in store.

My son introduced me to Linkin Park some years ago, when their lead singer was Chester. I loved their sound .. I think the new lead singer does a good job.. Love your reaction too Sue!

Two Faced is another great one from their recent album with the new singer. If you haven’t heard any of their old songs with Chester, the previous singer, you might like Faint or From The Inside. If you like live shows, “One Step Closer” from Rock Am Ring 2004 is incredible. Great reaction! ❤
