Same kit on my 91 notch took it from 290rwhp to 485rwhp at 9lbs boost ,well worth the money and LOT less work than on3. I did go with the powerpipe though. I have gt40 bottom end and heads also among other bolt ons.
Big Daddy - I wanted to illustrate the steps needed to install this kit the way Vortech assembles it. In the future, this car may be back with a different setup and how to install "said" setup. -Landan
Big Daddy, the FMU really serves no purpose. I understand this may provide a back pressure on the fuel leaving the fuel lines, sometimes this addtional equipment can be an issue. LMR, you may want to include some tips on whether or not equipment needs to be used. I understand you are using Vortechs instructions, but that Super FMU is very expensive. I agree with Big Daddy
"Dollar for dollar" it's not your supercharger package that will add the most power. From what I'm seeing it seems to be your On3 turbo kit. $4k plus for 100hp isn't cost effective.
Lyle - Most people custom fab cold side piping and add an intercooler. However, because of the design of this particular system, that is difficult to do. If someone wanted an intercooled setup for a Fox Body Mustang, then I would recommend purchasing the Vortech supercharger kit that includes their specific intercooler. -Landan
I'm looking at the kit on the lmr website but it doesn't say it comes with the msd box(unless I'm overlooking it). it's the complete kit so I imagine it does come with.
Casey - The MSD 6 BTM box is included. I had our product guys update the website so you should see that update once the site refreshes. Hope this helps! -Landan
On a fox body would you choice vortex system or the pro chargers system ? I'm going to get a super charger just trying to figure out which one is better for my set up . Any advice would be great . Keep up the great videos .
Late Model Restoration I have a 1993 cobra block stock internals. N41 cam shaft . Trick flow twisted wedge stage one heads. Edelbrock upper and lower RPM. 30 pound injectors 70 mm throttlebody scorpion rockers 6.7 inch trick flow pushrods trick flow timing chain set. I also have electric fans under drive kit no AC .
David - Vortech and Procharger both make great kits. The selling point for us on the Vortech was that this particular kit would clear a factory hood. The Procharger kits require a cowl hood for proper head unit clearance. System for system though, you can expect similar power gains. -Landan
So I'm swapping a 302 in a Nissan with a 240lph internal fuel pump is the external pump necessary and FMU or should I upgrade to a 340? I want to run this kit but this has held me back from pulling the trigger on my purchase
Vortech makes "charge coolers" or "power cooler" and they are available for fox bodies. They mount in between the supercharger and the throttle body. vortechsuperchargers.com/collections/charge-coolers/products/power-cooler-upgrade-kit-86-93-5-0l-mustang?variant=7811218241
I think they blew up the engine before getting it on the dyno. That's why no results posted yet.
3:48....I think it might be time for an electric fan, that factory one looks like it's about to fly apart!
Good catch! I replaced the fan on a recent install I did converting the R12 system to R134A. -Landan

Why does it have a oil drain line if it's self contained?
why use the FMU instead of 42# injectors and a tune. I'd also add a powerpipe

The FMU is included. The car runs great and met our expectations. Be on the lookout for the dyno video. -Landan
Would the Vortech v3 SCI non intercooled supercharger (entry level) be the same or a lil different?
Man those dyno results are taking FOR-EV-ER
I wish I had mechanical skills sometimes because parts are cheap for American cars but you get screwed with installation costs
dude, I gear ya, however, youtube has many videos to use, even if the job takes you extra, you may save a few bucks.
thank god for coyote swap

$4k plus for 100hp isn't cost effective.
It would be really helpful if the install instructions for the vortech supercharger systems on 94-95 5.0 models as well
Amen to that!!! Got a 95GTS that this kit would be great on.
Same with me! I have a 95 5.0 also
Landon could you get me the part number for the serpentine belt that is used on this car thanks
The part number rubbed off years ago. I think it's 54.5", however, that's just my best guess. -Landan
Do you have to get a 180 tube to add a inner cooler? Or is that turbo some how adjustable?

@latemodelrestoration yeah. I was really considering vortech for my silverado. But might go a different way. Just because of that weird elbow.
Any idea what size pulley is on that head unit?
This supercharger head unit comes with a 3.33" pulley. -Landan
which msd box is used
lmr.com/item/MSD-6462/Msd-6-Btm-Ignition-Box
Mckown Back yard performance so we have to use the MSD ignition box ? What if we tune it?
Is the MSD box necessary if we choose to tune it instead??
When can we expect the dyno results? Just waitng on those before I pull the trigger on this exact kit for my 93 notch, can't wait. thanks lmr
Casey - Part 3 is releasing this week sometime. Stay tuned! -Landan

Where is part 3 .where the car is on the dyno we want horsepower numbers quit holding out on us.
Gregory - It should be releasing next week. ;) -Landan
So when are we going to even see the dyno results??
Do u have installed kennebell
No, for this kit, we used the Vortech V3 Supercharger
👏👏👏👍
Also why do we have to back the timing down 10 degrees?
So it doesn't go boom. 10 degrees of initial timing is a good starting point. -Landan
No dyno numbers? Dumb
Why does he say the msd ignition box is included? It is not listed as being included on the lmr website.
Paul - I apologize for the confusion. I am working with my product team to get the website updated. Thanks! -Landan
Paul - The MSD ignition box is included in both the black and polished V3 kits. -Landan
Where did the supercharger drain go? My V1 has a drain like a turbo that goes into the pan.
John, the new V3 systems are self-contained and do not require an oil drain like a turbo, Removes the step of having to drill and tap the pan!
Late Model Restoration Thats awesome thanks for the info folks.
Anytime John!, Have a good weekend!

Thanks Landan. Ordered mine today!!
Casey - Awesome! My work email is landan(at)lmr(dot)com if you happen run in to any questions on the kit. -Landan
Do you have a direct line, Landen?
I love it. great Job.
C. Jordan - Thanks for the feedback! -Landan
Did you ever show the 1993 Vortex V3 Dyno results?
The results are almost out. Stay tuned!

It depends on your power goals. I would recommend a 340 so you have more room on the table.
why does he keep saying non-intercooled? they don't come intercooled and never have in the 27 years it's been available.
Vortech makes "charge coolers" or "power cooler" and they are available for fox bodies. They mount in between the supercharger and the throttle body.
vortechsuperchargers.com/collections/charge-coolers/products/power-cooler-upgrade-kit-86-93-5-0l-mustang?variant=7811218241
JR306 - Thanks for the reply. Edward, Vortech does in fact produce kits with a "power cooler" or "charge cooler" like JR mentioned. -Landan
