Been using it for years. It's a great formula at a reasonable price. I use the 20%, and my 71 year old normal to dry skin tolerates it easily - even put it on my eyelids.
Hi! Most of these Vitamin C serums (Paula’s choice, Timeless, Neutrogena capsules, etc) are not available in Europe. Could you please do a video on European drugstore Vitamin C serums that you’d recommend. Thanks! :)
Same! It's hard to find good info on what products to use in Europe, especially Spain. I've bought Paula's Choice on Amazon, but I get nervous buying skincare on Amazon, and it's always way more expensive.
You have Geek & Gorgeous from Hungary! They are phenomenal because they are known for making small, fresh batches regularly. The only "downside" is that their packaging is not as good as Timeless packaging. The bottles are opaque, but Timeless uses pump bottles.
I've been using the 20% Timeless for a couple of years now. It's worked great for me! I'm 66 with oily t-zone. It's very moisturizing in the humid and hot summer climate here in New Orleans.
@_soul_light8154 That's so kind of you, ty! I do have oily t-zone. I wash my face in the PM with LaRoche Posay cleansers or Cerave SA, depending on the weather. I use Avene Retrinal 0.1, 4-5 times per week, and Inky List Retinol Eye cream or a little Vanicream moisturizer around the eyes. Once a week, I exfoliate with Paula's choice AHA or BHA Liquid Exfoliant. I also shave my face once a week. Sometimes, I use Cerave PM moisturizer, or if conditions are very dry, Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel. In the AM, I just put the Timeless 20% Vit. C on. If I'm going to be out alot, I use either Elta Md sunscreen or Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel (Japanese), which I really like. Whew, I thought I had a simple routine, but that's a lot of products! I also need to say that I switched to a ketovore/ carnivore way of eating 4 years ago, and this has helped my skin quite a bit.
I've never seen it stocked in the stores, they're always out of it. Next time I'm buying the smallest bottle, which is the .05 OZ and I'm tempted by their small packet option too for trying which one oxidizes less. Did you guys know they make it fresh upon ordering from the website?! Yeah, all their products are made fresh and in smaller batches. It even comes with its, made date on the package. The other one with trying might be the Vichy one too. Other derms rave about that one too. Depends if a small size us accessible....
i'm 64, used the 20% for over 3 years and can't tell a darned difference!!!!! Everyone says oh it brightenes my face! well, how can something clear brighten your "face"????? I only use it because its the best, price point, and because we HAVE to!!! Just like Tretinoin!!! plus, plus! But never SEEN ANY CHANGE TO MY FACE. I just figure it's helping in ways I can't see!
But there's no "have to" factor associated with Vit C. U can skip it if u don't see any difference. U're just wasting ur money. Tret, moisturizer and sunscreen are the only "HAVE to"s.
Vitamin C along with retinols are good for preventing further hyperpigmentation. Possibly you need to have something done to remove the current issues like age or sunspots, like IPL or microneedling. Apparently damage we had in our younger years to the melanocytes deep in our skin, causes them to continue creating spots so we have to keep them under control with the retinol & vit C. Of course broad spectrum sunscreen helps prevent further damage from deep penetrating UVA. That’s my understanding anyway.
Good to know. Thank you! I really wish you would review some of the skin care that Dollar Tree offers. I'm scared to use them, but people on here claim that they're actually very good....Like the DermaGeek line they've had lately. And lots of people are praising the line of Olay dupes & the line of L'Oréal dupes they currently have.
I've used Timeless vitamin C 20% for over 4 years and it's amazing. Also, I use Matrixyl the one in the pink bottle. I had more wrinkles around my eyes at age 30 compared to 41, I think it's magical ✨️
That’s my vitamin C serum. I personally love the 20% It’s such an elegant formula it sink’s into my skin like a slash of water. Then sunscreen. No matter the weather.
Adding L-AA/E/Ferulic to my day routine is already brightening my skin (six or seven weeks in). Thank you for showing us an *affordable* well-formulated L-AA. I was dreading paying another ridiculous price for a third bottle as I am going through it quickly. It's great on the back of your hands as well.
I love the Timeless 10% Vitamin C. It is perfect for my super sensitive, eczema prone skin. I have been through multiple bottles and it is a staple in my routine!
Hi Doc! Can you provide some recommendations for sunscreens that work for eczema? My friend has it and she can’t find a sunscreen that works for her skin! PLEASE help 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Don’t! Use this brand instead. The skinceuticals comes in a dropper which can oxidize the vitamin c way faster and not be as effective anymore. I use the 10% and store in the fridge. Ordered directly from their website on black Friday and got a really good deal, I love it!
Have you heard of Seibella by Melaleuca? They have a line of Vitamin C products that I have been using but I don't know jack about whether the ingredients are potent or not.❤
I was wondering if you have ever come across the brand Pestle & Mortar? I use their vitamin C serum which is bi phase and I want to see your opinion on it. Thanks!
Hi Dr. Idriss, could you possibly share your thoughts/review on the Derma-E vitamin C moisturizer and possibly their serums in the future? Seems to have good ingredients and have been using it for a bit, but would love your thoughts as I don't see much reviews on it.
I tried the Derma-E Vit C serum and ended up throwing it out. I liked the pump packaging but the formula was terrible, not very elegant and did not play well with other products in my routine, particularly any of the sunscreens I used while trying this serum. It felt like it never quite settled on the skin and the texture was very oily, like a heavy film sitting over my skin. The fragrance and EOs were also terrible and lingered all day! I hadn't had many issues with fragrance before but the fragrance and EOs in this serum irritated my skin badly. I patch tested properly for a few days and then slowly incorporated this serum into my morning routine, until I was using it every morning. After 5 days of consistent daily use, my skin started flushing every time I applied it. I hadn't changed anything else in my routine and wanted to give it a chance, so I stupidly kept using it. The flushing and redness got worse each day until day 12, when my skin started to sting upon application and I noticed tiny closed comodones all over. I stopped application and gave my skin time to heal. Over the next 2 weeks my skin was red, dry, peeling, and just generally angry and sore. It was the worst around my mouth/chin area and around my eyes. About a month later, when my barrier was restored, I thought I'd give the serum one more chance and slowly incorporated it into my morning routine again. My skin was fine for the first 2 weeks of daily use until, once again, it started reacting to the serum as soon as I applied it. I stopped using it immediately and just chucked it out. It took almost 2 months after I stopped using it the last time for my skin to finally heal, but I unfortunately still have some scarring and hyperpigmentation from the irritation (a year later!). I would not recommend it if you have dry and/or sensitive skin! I also believe there are just better vit C products out there. I love the Simple Skincare Booster Vitamin C+E+F serum, it's my current favourite. I've been using it for over a year and love it. It's one of those products where I notice my skin just looks a bit duller and not as bright whenever I stop using it/when I try other products. I always go back to it lol. It's also beautifully formulated, fragrance free and plays well with other products.
@@GirlWithAnAddiction1 Oh yikes, 👀well thanks for your response and detailed review! Yes, it does have a stronger scent for sure. Luckily have had no reactions yet, but I agree there are better ones out there. Thanks for rec 😉

And I've heard a saying that it's the cheaper version of Skinceuticals or something? Do you think that it's worth the hype? Is it THAT good? I've tried the vite in C serum from Dr Kiels and it burnt my face as soon as I put it on, so I got scared and washed it off before throwing the bottle in the trash. Are there less irritating forms of vitamin C for sensitive skin?
Wait, does it survive planes? I worry that a long transit and pressure changes might destroy it, even though I know it's mostly heat and oxygen that are bad
I would like to ask what the color of the serum is? Is it a little bit milky and then goes transparent as you apply it? Or should it be transparent hundred percent? the one I got is a tiny bit milky, but it’s kind of weird because the liquid itself is not milky something inside the liquid is milky.
Got a response! It’s not gone bad!! Hi Jayati. Thank you for choosing Timeless Skin Care. As it depends on if the serum was cool (refrigerated) the 1% vitamin E may solidify which translates to a white opaque substance inside of the otherwise transparent liquid.
my friend’s nutritionist stresses on never taking anything, even vitamin supplements daily, and suggest switching them up after 3-4 days cycles. will that also apply to these vitamin cremes and serums, or can they be applied daily without risk of skin cancer?
Yes Yes Yes. And please start slugging with Vaseline or any petroleum jelly products. Also moisturize like crazy. Use something like noxzema to wash your face also. Any face cleanser or face product that strips your skin is all bad. It's all about the moisturizing
Either one of these ones is ok for any skin type. The percentage are different, the higher the percentage, the higher the risk of irritation. That’s all 😊
