Excellent talk. Thank you for highlighting the problem while also shining a ray of hope. My family avoids all single use, but sometimes things get slipped in when we aren't quick enough to refuse a spoon or fork here and there. Hopefully society can change 😊
I hope so, too! It is so challenging, especially when so much food is in plastic -- but doing what we can and sharing with others is the key, I think. Thanks for your comment!
refuse all plastic. Yi wont die. Reduce your spending. Recession is here in 2 weeks. Dont drive and stock up.on food and water. The gov is expecting a crisis worse than the great depression.
Do glad I found this! Very informative and factual. Recently started going strawless after a buzzfeed video informed me they were not recyclable. Hadn’t heard about the styrofoam ban Ca is planning but I support it 10000%.
Awesome! Those Buzzfeed videos have been extremely helpful in spreading the word!! Thank you for refusing single use plastic and for your comment, I really appreciate it!
Yes straws are totally NOT the final answer, but simply an entry point for people to start thinking about their use of plastic. Thanks for commenting Jeff!
Its the mindset that we need to start somewhere. Straws, then bags, then water bottles, then your whole home. I now refuse all plastic and compost. I love it
Only in Crazyfornia is this an issue. For the rest of us, We don't care about a damn straw or any of the other overly paranoid issues that seem to be rampant on the West Coast. I will say that the plastic six-pack rings work well for strangling turtles; you just have to catch them first.
so beautifully said!! I wish everyone could see this video
Oh! I just saw this comment, so sorry Nicole! Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thanks so much Nicole! I do too !

Rachel , You well done sharing good information
Thanks so much Tem! I appreciate you commenting!
The movement would be better focused on tackling ocean dumpage instead of focusing on straws. Focus people

I saw that video at school
Oh that's so great! I'm glad the turtle is being shared in schools, it should be. Thanks for commenting!
The older people are making it worse for the kids and now the kids have to clean it all up when they grow up.
Where can I safely get rid of straws
David Vazquez u can’t. Simple don’t use em
@@dallasdashwood8308 Yes!
Hey US cits! : Carry a bag to the supermarket; just try, see? not that hard right???
now just do it every day..... seee??? its not even an effort
Exactly!!!
Glass needs 1000+ deg c celcius to make. Plastic only need 200 deg C. And transporting glass is more expensive. What just happened there?
STOP THE SINGLE USE PLASTIC HABIT.
YES! SO AGREED!! :-) :-)
Hey! US cits! stop those straws, is childish
just STOP
Agreed!
